EVALUATION OF AL KABEER AL SHAMALI RIVER'S WATER SUITABILITY FOR DRINKING, BASED ON MODELING AND PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA DETECTION IN SYRIA 基于建模和叙利亚铜绿假单胞菌检测的al kabeer al shamali河饮用水适宜性评价

Using river water as a source for drinking water is a big challenge. The aim of this study was to determine the fate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa "opportunistic bacteria " in Al Kabeer Al Shamali River and its correlation with drinking water quality (pH, Electrical conductivity, Turbidity, NO3-, NO2-, NH4+ and PO4-3) in three locations; lake inlet " Ghammam Bridge ", artificial (the 16th Tishreen Dam Lake, and the outlet Ain al-Bayda irrigation tunnel).  during the period 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. The membrane filtration technique was used to detect Ps. Aeruginosa. Results showed significant differences (p<0.05) between sites for Ps. Aeruginosa, EC, Tur and NO3- . The highest counts for Ps. aeruginosa recorded in Ghammam Bridge water reaching 290000 cfu/100 mL ​​in Jun and correlated with NH4+ (r =0.72).  Then counts decreased to 420 cfu/100 ml in May in 16 Tishreen Dam Lake water, due to stratification and environmental stresses. Ps. Aeruginosa counts were higher in lake outlet than 16th Dam Lake and reached 53000 cfu/ 100 ml in July, May due to the release from sediments. Canadian Water Quality Index CCME WQI showed that the lake inlet water is moderate class C (64). The waters of 16th Dam Lake and the outlet are of good grade II B due to sedimentation. These results provide the basis for choosing appropriate sterilization methods to reach health goals to connect this major water source to the drinking water network in Lattakia city

THE EFFECT OF USING DIFFERENT LEVELS OF VITAMIN E ON THE PRODUCTIVE TRAITS OF BROILER CHICKENS 不同水平维生素e对肉鸡生产性状的影响

This study was conducted at the Poultry Research Station of the Livestock Research Department in the Agricultural Research Department. (126) One-day-old chicks were used in the study, with an average starting weight of 38 g from Ross 308 strain. The chicks were distributed randomly into 3 treatments, and each treatment contained three replicates. 14 chicks for each replicate, where the first treatment was control, and the chickens in the second and third treatments were given vitamin E at a level of 350 and 600 mg / kg feed, respectively, as the continuous lighting system was followed (24 hours / day) in the hall until the end of the experiment, which reached 42 days and the temperature was 35 m throughout the study. The results of the study showed a significant (P<0.01) superiority of the two vitamin E treatments (350 and 600 mg/kg feed) over the control treatment in each of live body weight, weight gain rate, relative growth rate, production index, economic indicator, and feed consumption rate. Significant in the mortality rate and a significant improvement in the feed conversion coefficient for the two experimental treatments compared with the control treatment.

EFFECT OF SOME UNFAVORABLE BEHAVIORAL TRAITS ON THE BEHAVIOR OF BROILER CHICKS 一些不良行为性状对肉鸡行为的影响

This study was carried out on a poultry farm in the Department of Animal Production – College of Agriculture - University of Anbar, the experiment aimed to determine broiler chicks' undesired behavior, including fear, gathering, and isolation. Seventy-five unsexed chicks were used that belong to strain Ross 308 with the age of one day. Chicks were randomly distributed to five replications, each replicate contained 15 chicks. The fear behavior was studied by observing the situation in which the chicks of each repeater are present at different times of the day when observing the chicks, we counted the number of isolated chicks, that is, located at the corners of the field, and recorded them, considering that they were very afraid. Chicks that are a little far from the corner were considered Medium afraid, and those that are farther away from the corner are a little afraid. As for the chicks that are spread out, far from the corners and walls, they are considered natural and not afraid, this is what was applied to each repeater (color) and at each of the specified times to take Data per day during the trial period. The results showed significant differences between the treatments in each of the traits of fear, grouping, and isolation due to the natural stimulator (sound) to broiler chicks.

ASSESSING THE EFFICIENCY OF CEMENT KILN DUST FOR HEAVY METALS REMOVAL FROM SIMULATED POLLUTED WATER 水泥窑粉尘对模拟污染水中重金属的去除效果评价

 Heavy metal contamination in the environment is unavoidable issue. Heavy metals directly influence human being lives since they concentrate in the food cycle, even in low amounts. Some heavy metals pollute the water resources, in dangerous limits for human life. The current study suggested the cement kiln dust (CKD) as a low-cost and effective adsorbent to remove heavy metals ions from solutions. Therefore, the study investigated the copper, lead and cadmium removal from aqueous solution by cement kiln dust (CKD) as industrial by-product. The laboratory experiment included two factors. The first factor consists of three different diameter particles i.e., 50,100, and 150 . While the second factor included three concentrations of each of copper, cadmium, and lead ions namely 50,100, and 200 mg. l-1. The cement kiln dust was identified by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) to determine its chemical characteristics. Also, pH and EC were measured for the cement kiln dust solution. Before the study starting, the initial concentration of the copper, cadmium, and lead were measured in the CKD power. The study was conducted at temperature of 25 . The removal efficiency was calculated at two different time of shaking, namely 1 and 2 hours. The obtained results indicated that CKD can be used as a low cost and effective sorbent for copper, cadmium, and lead ions from polluted water. Moreover, the results show that the high pH and high surface area for the cement kiln dust have the main effect of making the CKD efficient adsorbent material.

The effect of exposure to high temperature and its ability to improve the studied traits.

This study was conducted at the Poultry Research Station of the Department of Agricultural Researches / Ministry of Agriculture for the period from 22 to 13 May 2018 which lasted 21 days, using 180 Ross308 male broilers fed on added diets, Azolla was used at levels 5, 10, 20 and 30% for T2, T3, T4, and T5, respectively, and were compared with the control treatment T1 which is free of Azolla. Each treatment included three replicates (12 birds for each replicate) in order to study the effect of using different levels of Azolla in the production and physiological performance and economic feasibility of male meat broilers. A significant decrease (P≤0.05) in economic feasibility characteristics (cost of initial feed and final feed, and the cost of kilogram of the produced meat and low-cost rate per 100 kg/feed) for all Azolla treatments compared to the control treatment. The treatment of 30% Azolla had the most significant decrease (P≤0.05) in the percentage of feed cost compared to the control treatment and other experimental treatments. We conclude from this study that it is possible to add Azolla to the diet by 5% feed to obtain a positive improvement in the productive performance of broilers and achieve the best economic feasibility.

The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of adding various levels of Optifeed®, VêO® premium and Oleobiotec® to the diets as appetite stimulants in the production Performance of broiler males under heat stress conditions. The experiment was done for 42 days for the period from 30 August 2018 to 11 of October 2018 at the Poultry Research Station of the Livestock Research Department / Agricultural Research Department / Ministry of Agriculture (Baghdad - Abu Ghraib). In this study, 270 - one-day broiler males (Ross 308) were reared with a mean body weight of 37 g/chick, distributed randomly on 18 pens with dimensions of 2 x 3 m (length x width). The experimental treatments involved six treatments with three replicates for each treatment (per replicate 15 chicks). The treatments were included T1: basal diet as a control with no additions, T2:  basal diet + 500 g/ton of Optifeed®, T3: basal diet + 250 g/ton of VêO® premium, T4: basal diet + 250 g/ton of Oleobiotec®, T5: basal diet + 250 g of Optifeed® + 125 g of VêO® premium + 125 g of oleobiotec® /ton of feed, T6: basal diet + 500 g Optifeed® + 250 g VêO® premium + 250 g Oleobiotec® g/ton of feed. The obtained results showed that a significant decrease in all experimental trials of Malondialdehyde (MDA) for broiler liver tissue compared to control treatment. Treatment (T6) recorded the lowest concentration of dehydrode (MDA) compared to other treatments.

This study was conducted at the Poultry Research Station of the Department of Agricultural Researches / Ministry of Agriculture for the period from 22 to 13 May 2018 which lasted 21 days, using 180 Ross308 male broilers fed on added diets, Azolla used at levels 5, 10, 20 and 30% for T2, T3, T4 and T5, respectively, and were compared with the control treatment T1 which is free of Azolla. Each treatment included three replicates (12 birds for each replicate) in order to study the effect of using different levels of Azolla in the production and physiological performance and economic feasibility of male meat broilers. Significant increase (P≤0.05) in average body weight, weight increase, food intake rate, improved food conversion ratio, and production index for the birds of the treatment 5% Azolla compared with control treatment and other treatments. There were no significant differences between the control treatment and experimental treatments in all biochemical characteristics of blood plasma, which included the concentration of glucose, protein, albumin, and globulin, the activity of the liver enzymes ALT and AST, Uric acid, creatine, cholesterol, triglycerides and low-density fatty proteins (VLDL). In conclusion from this study, it is possible to add Azolla to the diet by 5% feed to obtain a positive improvement in the productive performance of broilers and achieve the best economic feasibility.

The incorporation of microbial-induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) in cement mortar is a good idea toward sustainable development. This study discussed the effect of adding MICP (Bacillus licheniformis urease bacteria) to cement mortar in different ways. Spray and admixed treatment with different bacterial concentration (optical density). The results proved that the addition of these microorganisms resulted in 17–37% increase in the compressive strength of cement mortar compared with control mix; this increment can be attributed to the deposition of calcium carbonate in the pores of cement mortar matrix. The results showed an increment of approximately 37% and 21% in the compressive strengths of the cement mortar admixed with 1 O.D and 0.5 O.D, respectively, on sequential culturing in comparison with the control mix. Moreover, the treatment of the cement mortar with the bacterial culture spray at 1 O.D resulted in 17% improvement in the compressive strength when compared with that of the control mix
