The principles underpinning Social Manufacturing have been developed in the context of the production of customizable discrete products. However, certain situations exist such that customization is not desirable or even possible. Factors that hinder customization vary considerably. They may include legal issues or consequences of technical standards, among others. In addition to customization of products, another principle underpinning Social Manufacturing is decentralized production. These two principles do not necessarily occur simultaneously. In certain situations, a product cannot be customized but its production is decentralized. The possibilities of extending the application of Social Manufacturing principles to such a context remain unexplored. Electricity generation (production) constitutes a context for such a study. Naturally, electricity is a fully standardized product and cannot be customized. Traditionally, electricity generation has been very centralized but certain recent developments are influencing the industry to become more decentralized. One key development in this regard is the Energy Transition and Decarbonization required to combat global climate change. Consequently, increased use of renewable energy sources results in decentralization of electricity generation. The objective of this study is to explore the possibilities of extending the application of Social Manufacturing principles to a new context. This new context is represented by renewables-based decentralized electricity generation. Electricity generation is an example in which the product cannot be customized but production is decentralized. This analysis encompasses the electricity generation value chain from engineering of equipment to management of electricity generation and grid operation.

It has become an irresistible worldwide trend for manufacturing enterprise to be responsible for the whole life cycle of its products. Under the circumstance, the sustainability will be more comprehensive understood and more deeply considered in product design stage. This paper reviews the research on sustainable development, product lifecycle management (PLM) and product service system (PSS) briefly. A concept of product service lifecycle management is proposed. Then this paper analyzes the benefits of the combination of PSS and PLM within the circumstance of sustainable development. As for the realization of product service lifecycle management, the key technologies are shown. In the end, an application case in automobile is introduced, and the strategies on design stage are presented in detail.

Actionable behavioral rules mining is a new problem of data mining. The produced rules can provide the user explicit suggestions of actions to influence the behaviors of the entity in concern with satisfactory utility to the user. When mining such rules, it is assumed that all the behavioral attributes are categorical, while numerical attributes have been discretized in advance. However, this assumption will hinder the performance of the algorithms for mining such rules. In this paper, to handle this problem, a numeric-behavioral-attributes-based problem definitions and a corresponding mining algorithm are proposed. The experimental results strongly suggest the validity and the superiority of our approach.

Users' online behavior, generated from endpoints of e-commerce website and app, is regarded as big data which can create large business value by mining them to acquire insights of users' preference, inclination and purpose. A good ranking result of product search and product assortment in online category classification can lift user's click rate, increase purchasing conversion rate and improve customer online experience. In this paper, we will introduce an online product based learning to rank model to intelligently learn product ranking. A big data architecture will also be introduced to implement this learning to rank model which analyzes huge amount of users' online behavior.

This paper design controller for the uncertain neutral delay system. The uncertain neutral delay system includes norm bounded uncertain system parameters and unknown constant delay. The paper uses uncertain neutral systems with structural features, and constructs appropriate Lyapunov function to obtain feedback control law. Compared with the previous methods for solving the Riccati equation, this method overcomes the shortcoming of Riccati equation emphasizing the center solution. Simulation results show that, the conservatism of the controller designed in this paper is reduced, and the controller easy to operate and application.

The reasonable rental price is helpful to improve the service level of urban public bicycle system and adjust the number of system users. Firstly, the framework for pricing public bicycle service from perspectives of the users, government and public bicycle company is developed and data collection is discussed. Secondly, three models are established considering benefits of users and public bicycle companies. The objectives of these models are maximizing amount of users, balancing income and expenses of public bicycle system and maximizing the benefit of bicycle companies respectively. Finally, a case study in Guangzhou was analyzed to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed models.

This paper proposes a state transition probability model for an elementary traffic network with four intersections, which is substantially the extension of the state transition probability model for a link based on a queue dynamic model. The state of this model is the combination of states of roads between these four intersections, so as the reward of each state. For the links between elementary traffic networks, some constraints are added to revise the proposed model with the aim of alleviating traffic pressure on them. Based on the proposed model, traffic control problem is formulated as a Markov Decision Process(MDP). A sensitivity-based policy iteration(PI) algorithm is introduced to effectively solve the MDP. The numerical experiments of a subnetwork with 16 intersections show that this stochastic control scheme is capable of reducing the number of vehicles substantially compared with the isolated intersection control and the fixed-time control, especially under the unbalanced scenario.

Moving objects, for example vehicles, vessels, people, are being instrumented with Internet of Things devices such as GPS, environmental sensors, mobile cameras that produce big streaming data with spatial-temporal features enabling application innovations in many industries for autonomous driving, usage based insurance, fleet management, etc. We introduce an analytics framework to streamline the insights discovery from such big data on top of geographic map by pulling together a list of commonly required high performance functions with service-oriented architecture. Supported by a service composition approach, comprehensive applications intelligently managing moving objects could be built effectively. Example applications in connected vehicle domains are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of such a framework.
