The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most famous passages in the Bible, but unfortunately it has a polemic interpretation in the reformed circles. This article analyzes two interpretations of the Sermon on the Mount from two well-known reformed figures, John Calvin and Martin Luther, to discover the heart of the problem. This article shows that Calvin's interpretation is more responsible than Luther's, but there is a beautiful legitimate application that readers can learn from Luther. Keywords: Interpretation, Sermon on the Mount, John Calvin, Martin Luther, historical criticism, law and gospel.

This article uses theological-ethical approach to focus on the presentation of the relationship of religion and state in the concept of principled pluralism and provides a reflection on the life of the nation and state in Indonesia which has Pancasila. The theological basis used as a reference is the Reformed theology of the Neo-Calvinism wing which was pioneered by Abraham Kuyper and forwarded by ideas from Kuyperians such as Gordon Spykman, James Skillen, Jonathan Chaplin. The author will argue that Pancasila is in harmony with principled pluralism. KEY WORDS: principled pluralism, structural pluralism, confessional pluralism, Pancasila.

At a glance, William James’ conception of truth in epistemology, especially in its critique of Modernism’s a-temporal, a-contextual, and absolutist conception of truth sounds very similar with a critique from Herman Dooyeweerd of the Reformational tradition. In this article, I would show what those similarities are and how the two systems are radically different. This research may be significant for Pragmatism is widely known and accepted in the late 20th century and well into the 21st century. Pragmatism is quite successful in grounding the elitist and abstract discourse of the academia to its daily contexts. KEYWORDS: James; Dooyeweerd; Truth; Pragmatism; Refomational Epistemology.

This article shows that there are at least two key hermeneutical tensions in evangelical feminist interpretation of the Bible. The first hermeneutical tension concern the issue of readers' prejudices. Feminists remind us that readers are always disposed to read texts against the background of their own expectations, customs, and world views. And the second hermeneutical tension, namely the tension over the nature of the actual practices of the first century church. Evangelical feminists have tended to give different answers depending on the passage that they are interpreting. In sum, feminism in its hermeneutical principles alerts us to the role of reader prejudice and social background in understanding texts. KEYWORDS: Hermeneutic, feminist, prejudice, Christian
