Frequent use of Internet applications and rapid growth of volumes of online resources have made it difficult for users to effectively make decisions on the kinds of information or items to select. Recommender systems (RSs) are intelligent decision-support tools that exploit users' preferences and suggest items that might be interesting to them. They are one of the various solutions used by online users to overcome the problem of information overload. Traditionally, RSs use single ratings to predict and represent preferences of users for items that are not yet seen. Multi-criteria RSs use multiple ratings to various items' attributes for improving prediction and recommendation accuracy of the systems. However, one major challenge of multi-criteria RSs is the choice of an efficient approach for modelling the criteria ratings. Therefore, this paper aimed at employing artificial neural networks to model the criteria ratings and determine the predictive performance of the systems based on aggregation function approach. Seven evaluation metrics have been used to evaluate and the accuracy of the systems. The empirical results of the study have shown that the proposed technique has the highest prediction and recommendation than the corresponding traditional technique.

Managing knowledge has become common practice in many companies in Indonesia. However, this is not the same thing in education institution like a university. Each business process in the university will most likely be disrupted whenever a staff takes a leave or even resign. Several reasons arise to justify this behavior, like all other staffs are already busy, that is not my KPI (Key Performance Indicator) to be concerned, and I do not have the knowledge to perform such job. The third reason explains the absence of knowledge management in the business process. Since each university has a unique process business, a system for managing knowledge should be flexible enough to accommodate every possible process. One of the advantages of using knowledge management is the possibility to provide eLearning on top of the knowledge management system. While eLearning should also be flexible to accommodate every possible business process, it should also support reusability to ensure effective and efficient process with minimum time-to-deploy. This research proposes a model to ensure flexibility and reusability of eLearning on top of Knowledge Management System.

A control design for two-wheeled robot (TWR) stabilization using linear quadratic regulator (LQR) method and states estimation is presented. A two-wheeled robot is an unstable system such that a control system is required to stabilize it. LQR is a control design method where the control gain is calculated by minimizing a performance index. The LQR method results in a full states feedback control law. Applying the LQR method for TWR stabilization will require feedback from pitching angle and pitching rate angle measurements. However, the common available sensor in the TWR is only a rate gyro which measures the pitching rate angle. Theoretically, time integration of the pitching rate angle results in pitching angle but it is not practically applicable because the time integration of measurement data may result in an accumulation of error and noise. Instead of the time integration, a Luenberger observer is applied to estimate the pitching angle based on the pitching rate angle measurement. Simulations of the TWR stabilization using the designed controller are presented through two scenarios: 1) both required state feedback are assumed to be available, and 2) both required state feedback are obtained through estimation using Luenberger observer. The first scenario is representing an ideal condition, while the second scenario is representing a practical condition. Simulation results show that the TWR is stabilized for the both scenarios, where the control system performance in the second scenario is slightly less than the first scenario but still acceptable.

Cow is one of the animals that have many benefits for humans. There are various types of cows based on benefits such as dairy cows, beef cattle, worker cattle, and others. Cattle breeding should be tailored to the needs of the public. Less knowledge about different types of cattle can reduce the benefits of farmed cattle. Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) can be applied to help the problem of distinguishing or knowing the type of cow. The first step of the method proposed in this research is preprocessing by changing the background color, resizing and conversion of color space. Color feature extraction calculates the average and standard deviation of the color intensity of each color component. Next extract the texture feature using Gray Level Cooccurrence Matrix (GLCM) to look for contrast, energy, correlation, homogeneity and entropy at each angle 0°, 45°, 90° and 135° with a mean of 1 averaged. Six color features and five texture features are used as attributes to perform calculations with Euclidean Distance, so it can be known the similarity between images. Cattle types used include Limousin, Simental, Brangus, Peranakan Ongole (PO), and Frisien Holstein (FH). With 100 training images and 20 test images. To measure the accuracy of the proposed CBIR is used Confusion Matrix. Based on the measurement results obtained accuracy of 95% while the precision and recall obtained 100%.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems with Continuous Phase Chirp Modulation (CPCM) are considered. In these systems, this modulation is used to realize constant envelope OFDM signals. Both Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT)- and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)-based OFDM systems are considered and their Bit Error Rate (BER) performances over AWGN and fading channels are presented. Expressions for BER over Ricean and Rayleigh channels are derived and illustrated as function of modulation parameters. Results indicate that use of DCT instead of FFT in an OFDM system with CPCM results in better BER performance.
