Modeling and simulation of handover priority scheme for broadband wireless network are under investigation. The aim of simulation is estimation of the probabilities of handover Quality of Service (QoS) parameters as blocking probabilities of handover channels and overflow probabilities of queues. A handover traffic scheme for broadband wireless network handover for heterogeneous traffic is suggested. This scheme is modeled with Markov chain. For suggested queuing model is worked out an algorithm for Markov chain solving. For considered model is suggested algorithms for traffic simulation with imolementation of rare event simulation. As a result is received an estimation of blocking probabilities of handover channels.

The popularity and the use of e-learning systems increased through last decades. Students produce a lot of data through their interactions with the system, which is often not exploited. Since there is a vast amount of such data, data mining techniques were used as the appropriate solution. In this paper we show practical experience with specific e-learning system and applied data mining technique for the analysis which served as a tool for grouping students with similar characteristics.

OSGi is a popular Java-based platform, which has its roots in the area of embedded systems. However, nowadays it is used more and more in enterprise systems. To fit this new application area, OSGi has recently been extended with the Remote Services specification. This specification enables distribution, which OSGi was previously lacking. However, the specification provides means for synchronous communication only and leaves out asynchronous communication. As an attempt to fill a gap in this field, we propose, implement and evaluate an approach for the integration of asynchronous messaging into OSGi.

This research attempted to analyze the environmental impact of two available non-conventional vehicle technologies, highlighting the benefits in terms of emissions and fuel consumption reduction with respect to conventional vehicles. Moreover, tests were compared with predicted emissions of the conventional gasoline technology provided by the kinematic model developed. Results show that cold start strongly affects the emissions of CO, THC and NOX, which become very low during hot driving cycle. The existing emission model cannot be used to obtain a satisfactory prediction for hybrid car. But it could be proved that KEM emission model allows us to predict emission factor for conventional car and compressed natural gas. However, it is concluded that new experimental campaign with new technological cars might be interesting for future model developments.

Virtual teams are increasingly engaged in globalized business environments. Virtual teams work across space, time and organizational boundaries with links ensured by information and communication technologies. Communication, collaboration, and knowledge exchange are the most important in virtual teams' operations and their efficiency directly influences teams' performance. In this paper benefits and challenges of virtual teams are described, and description of software tools used by virtual teams is given. Previous efforts to provide efficient communication, collaboration, and management tools and frameworks for virtual teams are summarized. Some promising research directions are indicated. Finally, integrated framework for virtual team management is proposed.

Special characteristics of cloud computing have enhanced its rate of adoption for small medium-sized enterprises. Its associated economic model allow for small actors to become more visible, and enable them to collaborate and integrate their solutions for competing with big players on the IT market. As means of exploiting these opportunities, there is a necessity for adopting of solutions which enhance the efficacy of in the cloud activities - cloud management -and allow the migration of business and operational aspects altogether - cloud governance -while integrating services in order to build complex, targeted, solutions for their customers' needs.

The biggest wriggle in developments of libraries is happening in field of libraries' services where existing services are enhanced with new functionalities and completely new services are introduced. In recent years there is a great boom of educational services empowered with new technology. The average user is overloaded with great amount of information and librarians must constantly and systematically transfer different skills to their users. In this paper quantitative results of presence of educational services on academic library web sites are presented indicating their involvement in educational processes.

While implementing Cloud based platforms it is complicated to determine the adequate quantity of resources in order to satisfy variable workload with peaks. Some projects are lost because of under provisioning of Cloud resources, as well as costly resources are wasted during nonpeak periods. It is known that not all projects must be processed on time, i.e. some of them may be postponed for a certain time. Within this context, it is presumed that postponement's opportunity can reduce the probability of projects not to be executed, at the same time to determine the lower quantity of own resources by taking into account minimal costs. Such strategy of workload balancing and projects scheduling is validated by the experiment.

This paper presents a machine translation evaluation study for Croatian-English language pair. In-domain and out-of-domain translations from Croatian into English have been obtained from Google Translate, our own statistical machine translation system LegTran, and from a professional translator. These translations have been evaluated by six different automatic metrics. The gains obtained from increasing the number of reference translations have been explored and measured. System level correlation between automatic evaluation metrics is given and the significance of the results is discussed. Bootstrapping, approximate randomization and the sign test have been used for confidence intervals and hypothesis testing.

The focus of this research is applying knowledge management into mobile learning and combine it with current research on personalization and adaptive learning and develop a methodology oriented in learning from experts and not academics. In order to test the developed methodology a mobile software solution is created for iOS platform and tested the efficiency of the developed solution. The contribution of the research study is the proposed Expert Based Learning (EXBL) methodology to be used for developing m-learning applications. Also contribution of the study is the PMQ (Performance Measurement Quiz) that is used for evaluating not only learning but also for developing performance measures.
