Time sub-optimal/sliding mode controller for a flexible structure 柔性结构的时间次优/滑模控制器

This paper describes the combined design of a time-optimal and a sliding mode controller for a single-axis, one-mode model of a flexible slewing structure, where the goal is the real-time implementation of a fast controller. The model of a flexible aluminum link with torque actuation (DC motor) at its hub is considered in modal coordinates, and a previously introduced time-optimal torque law for this system that can be implemented in real time is used. A sliding-mode controller for the DC motor is designed so that the torque generated by the motor converges to the desired time-optimal torque law. Computer simulations are included in this paper to illustrate the design idea.

High performance branch prediction 高性能分支预测

Today's advanced architectures increasingly rely on accurate instruction fetch and branch prediction to maintain optimum pipeline performance. In this paper, dynamic branch prediction techniques are investigated and methods to increase branch prediction accuracy are explored. A result of this analysis has been the development of several dynamic branch prediction architectures that combine promising aspects of accurate branch prediction methods currently implemented. The objective of this research was to provide an advanced high performance branch prediction architecture that can easily be incorporated into existing architectures without instruction set modification. Development of a hybrid branch prediction architecture that uses both global and local branch histories is presented and shown to have significant performance advantages. Several branch architectures are presented for performance.

An object-oriented model for generating assembly sequences 用于生成装配序列的面向对象模型

The object-oriented approach to software development concentrates on objects and their interacting behaviors. This approach fits naturally into software development in engineering applications because many of these applications deal with physical objects and their properties. This paper is a contribution to applying the object-oriented approach to modeling software for mechanical assembly sequencing problem. An object-oriented model is proposed by the author which is derived from the AND/OR graph model. The goal of this paper is to prove the equivalence of these two models by showing that the result of an operation performed on either model will lead to the same state, provided that the system is in the same state in both the models before the operation is performed.

A necessary and sufficient stability criterion for linear time-varying systems 线性时变系统的充分必要稳定性判据

In this paper a necessary and sufficient exponential stability criterion is presented for linear time-varying (LTV) systems based on a previously developed parallel D-spectrum concept. This new result is a corrected version of some previously published results, where an important condition has been overlooked. Extensions of the new result to the assessment of exponential stability using a series D-spectrum, and the assessment of asymptotic stability using a relative-mean concept for the PD- and SD-eigenvalues are also discussed.

Eigenvalue assignment optimization for stable and unstable systems 稳定与不稳定系统的特征值分配优化

A method for designing linear quadratic regulators (LQR) which meet performance specifications with minimal control-signal amplitude is developed. A non-derivative search routine is used to find a smaller gain vector which places the closed-loop eigenvalues in a specific sector-type region. The method may be used to specify arbitrary damping and settling-time characteristics for both stable and unstable systems. In this paper, controllers are designed for example systems to demonstrate the use of the method. The method is shown to yield smaller gain vectors than a previous method, and may be expanded to address more complicated design problems.

Adaptive control of a continuous solution polymerization reactor 连续溶液聚合反应器的自适应控制

This paper focuses on the application of an explicit self-tuning linear quadratic Gaussian controller to the simulation servo control of conversion in a continuous stirred tank solution polymerization reactor under isothermal conditions. A new saturation and controller windup algorithm proposed in Ogunye (1994, 1996) was implemented for the set-point tracking-control policies. The improvement in closed-loop performance using this saturation algorithm over that obtained when the input saturates was demonstrated at the simulation level.

High-speed semiconductor devices for communication systems 通信系统用高速半导体器件

The performance of Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors (HBTs) fabricated on novel quaternary InAlGaAs/InGaAs structures grown lattice matched on InP substrates are presented. For the first time the measured pulsed current voltage characteristics on InP HBT devices allow the direct observation of junction thermal effects. The incorporation of quaternary compounds contributes to a significant reduction of the negative resistance effects and an improvement of the output conductance making the devices reported suitable for applications in communication systems operating in microwave range frequencies.

Comparison of a feedback linearization controller and sliding mode controllers for a permanent magnet stepper motor 永磁步进电机反馈线性化控制器与滑模控制器的比较

The permanent magnet stepper motor (PMSM) is considered for use in high-accuracy positioning system upon effect of parametric uncertainties, external disturbances and a control saturation. The traditional sliding mode control, the method of system center, and the dynamic sliding manifolds were applied to the high accuracy position controller design for a PMSM. The "boundary layer" approach was employed to eliminate the control chattering. The performances of the system with the designed sliding mode controllers and the system with a feedback linearization controller were compared on the basis of the computer simulation. The sliding mode controller demonstrated the higher robustness to parametric variations and external disturbances than the feedback linearization controller.

Sub-band encoding of images using 2-D adaptive deltamodulation 使用二维自适应delta调制的图像子带编码

Presents the results for a subband encoder for still pictures, using adaptive deltamodulation as the main encoder. The image signal is separated into four subbands using conventional separable 2-D filters, and the individual signals are encoded using 2-D ADM. Two different types of ADM encoders are used and very good quality is obtained at 0.75 bpp-1.25 bpp.
