Sigma adaptive sliding mode control of 2nd order nonlinear systems 二阶非线性系统的Sigma自适应滑模控制

In this paper, the sigma adaptive sliding mode control (SASMC) which is a combination of sliding mode control (SMC) and sigma adaptive law for a class of 2nd order nonlinear systems is developed. The proposed SASMC for the 2nd order nonlinear systems can overcome the drawbacks due to SMC. It can achieve a smaller mean tracking error than SMC, suppress chattering due to SMC, improve transient response due to modeling error, and reduce the gain of the controller.

Dual-input describing function with Matlab 用Matlab实现双输入描述函数

Generation of altered nonlinear characteristic block using Matlab-Simulink is presented. These blocks can be added to the block library and be used to replace the corresponding nonlinear element for applying dual-input describing function in simulation. This will help teaching and understanding the concept and applications of dual-input describing function. This is a way of incorporating computer aided control systems design into education, particularly in subject such as nonlinear control theory. Examples are given to show that software such as Matlab-Simulink can be very useful in teaching and studying.

Optimal H-infinity decoupling of engine idle speed and emission subsystems 发动机怠速与排放子系统的最优h∞解耦

In this paper, the problem of optimal decoupling of engine idle speed and emission subsystems is studied for facilitation of modularization of control tasks, enhancement of robustness, reduction of control complexity and calibration time, and improvement of engine system performance. A new design method is introduced which employs feedforward compensation to achieve optimal decoupling of engine subsystems over large frequency ranges. The design method is applied to the decoupling of engine idle speed and emission subsystems which demonstrate significant reduction of their interconnections.

Applications of fuzzy K-NN in weld recognition and tool failure monitoring 模糊K-NN在焊缝识别和刀具失效监测中的应用

Two fuzzy K-NN (K-nearest neighbor) based procedures are developed for identifying welds from digitized radiographic images and for determining PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride) tool failure in face milling operations. Both procedures comprise two major components: feature extraction and fuzzy K-NN based pattern classification. For the weld identification application, the weld image is processed line-by-line and three features are extracted for each object in each line image. These features are: the width, the mean square error (MSE) between the object and its Gaussian, and the peak intensity. For the tool failure application, two features: /spl Delta/RMS and peak/count ratio, are derived from AE signals generated by the cutting operation. The use of the fuzzy K-NN classifier and the classification results are discussed. The results of this study indicate that the fuzzy K-NN based procedures produce a high successful rate of recognition for both applications.

High frequency noise reduction using an acousto-optic cell 使用声光电池进行高频降噪

We present a novel and simple optical image processing system for high frequency noise reduction. The system consists of a single imaging lens and an acousto-optic modulator. Image edge enhancement is achieved by Bragg diffraction. Experimental and computer simulation results are given.

This paper describes the network expandability and cost analysis of three important multi-processor system architectures. Included are the comparative network growth and network size of torus, hypercube and tree architectures by means of network modelling and graphical presentation. In this paper advantages and disadvantages of message-passing systems are highlighted. In addition, a new architecture called the augmented hypercube torus is proposed in order to eliminate limitations that apply to message passing architectures.

A nonlinear system predictor from experimental data using neural networks 基于神经网络的非线性系统预测器

A novel iterative technique is proposed by the authors in order to build a discrete-time nonlinear dynamical system predictor from experimental input-output pairs. The iterative technique is capable of representing a class of dynamical systems as static multidimensional mappings. The practical solution of the prediction problem is strongly related with the availability of suitable representations of multidimensional mappings. The proposed technique, belonging to the memory-based techniques, highly reduces the memory amount required to store the representation of the mapping. The iterative technique is very well suited to work in conjunction with an associative memory structure as the monodimensional CMAC and in presence of on-fly data. An application example to dynamical system output prediction is presented. Moreover, a convergence discussion for the proposed algorithm is provided. Finally, computer simulations verify the stated theory.

Process control and lot disposition for destructive sampling plans with predictable and unpredictable sampling accuracy 具有可预测和不可预测抽样精度的破坏性抽样计划的过程控制和批处理

Modern manufacturing facilities are highly sophisticated, and are designed to produce lots of large sizes. Producing quality items of all types, electronic, mechanical, etc. requires effective techniques of sampling and testing. The impact of manufacturing a large number of defective items, can be very costly for both the consumer and the producer, especially if the search for the cause(s) of inaccuracies requires shutting down the facility for an unspecified period of time. In most cases inaccuracies occur due to bias, imprecision, and failure to predict the mean time before failure for items that perform in a satisfactory condition for a short period of time. In this paper all the variables specified were modified by considering all possible causes of inaccuracies that are critical in classifying the items manufactured as quality items. The Bayesian mathematical form of the cost equation was formulated as a function of the upper and lower limits relative to the quality characteristic X under investigation, the mean of X which was assumed as a variable, the variance of X, and the cost parameters. Both possibilities of predictable and unpredictable sampling accuracy were considered. The cost function was optimized to estimate the optimal sample size. The sample size was implemented together with the distribution of the fraction defective, and the two types of error I and II to estimate a set of decision points, and to construct the X~ chart for testing and for lot disposition.

The Bayesian mathematical form of the cost equation was formulated as a function of the upper and lower limits relative to the quality characteristic X under investigation, the mean of X which was assumed as a variable, the variance of X, and the cost parameters. Both possibilities of predictable and unpredictable sampling accuracy were considered. The cost function was optimized to estimate the optimal sample size.
