Secrecy capacity analysis for α-μ/κ-μ and κ-μ/α-μ fading scenarios α-μ/κ-μ和κ-μ/α-μ衰落场景的保密能力分析

In this paper, we consider the transmission of confidential information over an α-μ and a κ-μ fading channel in the presence of an eavesdropper who experiences κ-μ and α-μ fading, respectively. In particular, we derive novel analytical expressions for the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity (SPSC) and a lower bound on secrecy outage probability (SOPL) for independent and non-identically distributed (i.n.i.d.) channel coefficients. These results have been validated through simulations and reduction to known special cases. These new, very general formulations, are important as they bring together previously non-unified secrecy capacity and secrecy outage probabilities (SOP) such as those involving α-μ, Nakagami-m, Rayleigh, OneSided Gaussian, Weibull, Negative Exponential with κ-μ and Rice. Additionally, due to the duality of analysis of secrecy capacity and co-channel interference (CCI), the results presented here will also have immediate applicability in the analysis of outage probability in wireless systems affected by CCI and background noise for the aforementioned fading scenarios.

Performance evaluation of filterbank multicarrier systems in an underwater acoustic channel 水声信道中滤波器组多载波系统的性能评价

This paper examines the performance of filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) systems for underwater acoustic communications. We evaluate the performance of Filtered Multitone (FMT) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing-Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (OFDM-OQAM) and compare it to that of traditional OFDM. OFDM-OQAM is found to be the most suitable multicarrier technique that can be applied to underwater acoustic communications as it achieves maximum bandwidth efficiency and provides a higher bit rate than its OFDM counterpart due to the absence of a cyclic prefix (CP). We also present a bit error rate (BER) performance evaluation of coded and un-coded OFDM-OQAM for both horizontally and vertically configured acoustic channels.

Spectrum sharing efficiency analysis in rule regulated networks with decentralized occupation control 分散占用控制下规则调节网络频谱共享效率分析

Decentralized dynamic spectrum allocation (DSA) that exploit adaptive antenna array interference mitigation (IM) diversity at the receiver, is studied for interference-limited environments with high level of frequency reuse. The system consists of base stations (BSs) that can optimize uplink frequency allocation to their user equipments (UEs) to minimize impact of interference on the useful signal, assuming no control over band allocation of other BSs sharing the same bands. To this end, “good neighbor” (GN) rules allow effective trade off between the equilibrium and transient decentralized DSA behavior if the performance targets are adequate to the interference scenario. In this paper, we extend the GN rules by including a spectrum occupation control that allows adaptive selection of the performance targets corresponding to the potentially “interference free” DSA; define the semi-analytic absorbing Markov chain model for the GN DSA with occupation control and study the convergence properties including effects of possible breaks of the GN rules; and for higher-dimension networks, develop the simplified search GN algorithms with occupation and power control (PC) and demonstrate their efficiency by means of simulations in the scenario with unlimited requested network occupation.

Control plane load balancing in wireless C/U split architectures 无线C/U分割架构中的控制平面负载均衡

The goal of expected 5G networks is to bring ultra high data rates to mobile users. To realize this, a novel Control and User plane split (C/U) communication network paradigm that deploys a large number of small base stations within the coverage area of a macro cell has been considered. However, an emerging problem for such architecture is the increasing complexity in control network load balancing and hand over events. Such problems for control plane has received little attention and it is the focus of this paper. We propose an optimal solution to the mentioned problems and discuss the related performance via numerical investigations.

Self-organizing networks for 5G: Directional cell search in mmW networks 5G自组织网络:毫米波网络中的定向小区搜索

We discuss the motivation and potential use-cases of self-organizing networks (SON) in 5G networks. Disruptive technologies and features of 5G networks include millimeter wave (mmW), massive multiple-input multiple output (MIMO), and cloud-radio access network (C-RAN). These have ramifications on SON aspects of the networks. We discuss several new SON use-cases and problems pertinent to emerging 5G technologies. The discussed 5G SON use-cases include spectrum management and sharing, user association, multi-radio access technology (RAT) optimization, and directional cell search for mmW networks. We then investigate directional cell search in detail, and consider a network graph based approach for self-organized beam assignment in mmW 5G networks. Simulations results in a realistic Manhattan environment demonstrate the benefits of proposed approach, in terms of improved user signal-to-interference plus noise ratios to potential handover beams, thereby resulting in better directional cell discovery.

Mobile data offloading addressing the service quality vs. resource utilisation dilemma 移动数据卸载解决了服务质量与资源利用的困境

Mobile operators are integrating WiFi into their cellular networks as a way to address the issue of mobile data deluge. Although prominently used for its high data rates and unlicensed frequency band of operation, WiFi's contention based medium access does not guarantee that a user's quality of service will necessarily be met, especially if mobile devices simply ‘offload’ to WiFi in preference to cellular. A network selection algorithm offers a way to enhance user experience, by always selecting the best radio access network for the user. In the literature, several techniques have been applied to the network selection problem. While most proposals aim to optimise quality of service for the user, the impact on resource utilisation for the networks is often neglected. This work proposes a network selection algorithm which attempts to find a good trade-off between user quality of service and efficient resource utilisation and elaborates on its performance evaluation through a simulation based study. Findings indicate that the proposed algorithm is able to provide enhanced QoS to the user as compared to conventional algorithms in terms of achieving higher throughput, lower delay as well as a higher overall system performance.

Ultra-reliable communication in a factory environment for 5G wireless networks: Link level and deployment study 5G无线网络工厂环境下的超可靠通信:链路级别和部署研究

The focus of this paper on mission-critical communications in a 5G cellular communication system. Technologies to provide ultra-reliable communication, with 99.999 % availability in a factory environment are studied. We have analysed the feasibility requirements for ultra-reliable communication and obtained the loss margins against path loss, shadow and fast fading. We also study the effect of increased interference due to higher deployment density on offered reliable rates and packet delays. Resource allocation schemes based on full and orthogonal resource sharing, as well as power control are compared. Last, the importance of multi-hop communication and multi-point coordination schemes are highlighted to improve the reliable communication in presence of interference and clutter.

Selective multi-hop relaying for ultra-reliable communication in a factory environment 用于工厂环境中超可靠通信的选择性多跳中继

Evolving 5G cellular communication is envisioned to enable connectivity for a wide range of new use cases. The focus on mission-critical communications, such as factory automation, public safety and vehicular safety applications presses the demand for ultra-reliable communication. In this paper, we investigate by various means of multi-hop relaying schemes to improve the reliable communication in a factory environment. Impacts due to half- and full-duplex operation at relay nodes are studied together with resource allocation. No retransmissions are considered and the relaying schemes are limited to two hops to meet the low latency constraint. Performance evaluations in a factory scenario are shown. We illustrate that in a network of uncoordinated cells one can exploit the varying fading profiles and can improve the offered reliable rate using multi-hop communication.

Massive MIMO real-time channel measurements and theoretic TDD downlink throughput predictions 大规模MIMO实时信道测量和理论TDD下行吞吐量预测

This paper is the first to evaluate the realistic performance of Massive MIMO using real-time channel measurements conducted at 3.51GHz. Our testbed consists of 64 National Instruments Universal Software Radio Peripheral Reconfigurable Input and Output (NI USRP RIO) software defined radios (SDRs) with 128 dipole antennas at the Base Station (BS) side, and 6 USRPs configured as 12 single-antenna User Equipment (UE) nodes. The system operates in a Time Division Duplex (TDD) fashion with a Long Term Evolution (LTE) like Physical Layer framework which, when fully deployed, will enable instantaneous throughput measurements on the Uplink (UL) and Downlink (DL) according to a user-defined frame schedule. In this paper we present real-time UL channel measurements at all BS antenna ports simultaneously, which allows the temporal characteristics of the Massive MIMO channel to be recorded. Eigen-beamforming precoding and a Received Bit-level Mutual Information Rate (RBIR) abstraction simulator are then used to predict the theoretic DL performance. We quantify the co-located Massive MIMO throughput for differing numbers of BS antennas (i.e. 32, 64 and 112 elements) and UE locations for an indoor environment.

Simultaneous channel measurements of the on-body and body-to-body channels 体对体和体对体通道的同步通道测量

In this paper, we characterize the simultaneous channel response of narrowband on-body and body-to-body channels at 2.48 GHz using the κ-μ fading model. The measurements considered three nodes, two of these were located on the front-chest and front-central-waist of an adult male, and the third node was located on the front-central-waist of an adult female. Multiple human mobility scenarios were considered for three different environments namely an anechoic chamber, reverberation chamber and laboratory environment. For all of the measured channels, the κ-μ probability density function (pdf) provided an excellent fit to the empirical distribution of the measured short-term fading. In addition, the channel measurements also demonstrated the channel reciprocity property for each of the on-body and body-to-body links, and scenarios considered here. Finally, we also show that the sample period of the measurement system developed for this study was well within the coherence time of the channel.
