Outage analysis of full-duplex DF relaying with limited dynamic range of ADC ADC动态范围有限的全双工DF继电器的中断分析

In this paper, the adoption of the full-duplex radio (FDR) technique in three-node decode-and-forward (DF) relaying systems, which consist of a transmit node, a relay node and a destination node, is considered. In particular, in handling the self-interference the effect of the distortion noise due to the limited dynamic range of the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is considered which may limit the potential of FDR. We first analyze the closed-form analytical expression of the system outage performance and then, derive the optimal transmit power of the relay to minimize the outage probability. Through extensive numerical results, we investigate that the full-duplex relaying can outperform the conventional half-duplex relaying significantly. Numerical results also indicate that although self-interference may reduce the system performance, the outage probability can be efficiently controlled by choosing a suitable relay transmit power.

Energy-efficient power control for OFDMA cellular networks OFDMA蜂窝网络的节能功率控制

In this paper, we study the energy efficiency (EE) of orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) cellular networks. Our objective is to present a power allocation scheme that maximizes the EE of downlink communications. We propose a novel explicit expression of the optimal power allocation to each subcarrier. We also present the power control when the transmit power is limited by power budget constraint or/and minimal rate constraint and we highlight the occurrence of some transmission outage events depending on the constraints' parameters. In the numerical results, we show that our proposed power control improves the EE especially at high power budget regime and low minimal rate regime. In addition, we show that having a higher number of subcarriers enhances the OFDMA EE.

Adaptive coded modulation for mobility constrained indoor wireless environments 移动受限室内无线环境的自适应编码调制

The performance of rate adaptive trellis-coded and uncoded M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM) over large open office indoor wireless environments is studied in this paper. An appropriate composite fading/shadowing channel model termed the joint fading and two-path shadowing (JFTS) model is adopted for such an indoor wireless environment, where mobility of users remains constrained within a small space. Mathematically tractable expressions for the spectral efficiency and average bit error rate (ABER) of adaptive coded and uncoded M-QAM over the JFTS channel are derived. Numerical results demonstrate that in contrast to conventional fading models like Rayleigh and Nakagami-m distributions, the error probability performance of rate adaptive M-QAM over a JFTS faded/shadowed link never approaches zero for lower channel signal-to-noise ratios (CSNRs).

Priority-oriented multicast transmission schemes for heterogeneous traffic in WSNs 面向优先级的无线传感器网络异构流量组播传输方案

To ensure quality of service (QoS) for heterogeneous traffic in IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is a challenging task since no traffic prioritization mechanism is defined in such WSNs. In this paper, we propose two priority-oriented multicast transmission schemes to provide QoS for heterogeneous traffic in WSNs. Contrary to the legacy CSMA/CA and FIFO principles, these schemes differentiate self-generated or received traffic and give priority to delay-sensitive traffic with respect to channel access and packet scheduling. Simulations are performed in order to assess the performance of these schemes in terms of end-to-end delay, energy consumption, packet delivery ratio, and collision probability.

Dual-polarized indoor propagation at 26 GHz 26ghz双偏振室内传播

This work presents results based on wideband radio channel measurements at 26 GHz. Three widely different indoor environments were measured; a cluttered laboratory, a corridor with a bend, and a large entrance hall. Power angular spectra were obtained for both vertical polarization (VP) and horizontal polarization (HP) at many different Rx locations, using both VP or HP for the fixed Tx. The results show that a quite rich channel may exist with several propagation paths. Further, coupling between the VP and HP was found in a non line of sight (NLOS) scenario.

Measurements, performance and analysis of LoRa FABIAN, a real-world implementation of LPWAN LoRa FABIAN的测量,性能和分析,LPWAN的现实世界实现

Up to recently, two main approaches were used for connecting the “things” in the growing Internet of Things (IoT) — one based on multi-hop mesh networks, using short-range technologies and unlicensed spectrum, and the other based on long-range cellular network technologies using corresponding licensed frequency bands. New type of connectivity used in Low-Power Wide Area networks (LPWAN), challenges these approaches by using low-rate long-range transmission technologies in unlicensed sub-GHz frequency bands. In this paper, we do performance testing on one such star-topology network, based on Semtech's LoRa™ technology, and deployed in the city of Rennes — LoRa FABIAN. In order to check the quality of service (QoS) that this network can provide, generally and in given conditions, we conducted a set of performance measurements. We performed our tests by generating and then observing the traffic between IoT nodes and LoRa IoT stations using our LoRa FABIAN protocol stack. With our experimental setup, we were able to generate traffic very similar to the one that can be used by real application such as sensor monitoring. This let us extract basic performance metrics, such as packet error rate (PER), but also metrics related specifically to the LoRa physical layer, such as the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) and Signal to Noise ratio (SNR), within various conditions. Our findings provide insight about the performance of LoRa networks, but also about evaluation methods for these type of networks. We gathered measurement data that we make freely available together with the tools we used.

Hardware testbed for sidelink transmission of 5G waveforms without synchronization 无同步5G波形旁链路传输硬件试验台

This paper details a hardware testbed conceived for studying the impact of the lack of synchronism between transmitters on several 5G waveform candidates, which is of special relevance for car-to-car communications. The experimental results show that a proper fitting of waveforms in a software-defined platform would permit increasing the range of communication between cars without peer-to-peer synchronization, paving the way for the real development of collision avoidance messages.

A service-tailored TDD cell-less architecture 服务定制的TDD无单元架构

The emerging 5G systems are envisioned to support higher data volumes and a plethora of different services with diverse QoS demands. To accommodate such service requirements, a cost efficient and flexible network architecture considering different service types is desired. The adoption of C-RAN can reduce infrastructure costs especially for dense deployments while at the same time centralize and hence optimize certain operations related with the control and data plane of the associated cells. This paper investigates such C-RAN approach in the context of TDD networks enabling a cell-less experience for users residing within overlapping areas. In particular, users are allowed to utilize selected sub-frames from different cells forming, in this way, a customized cell-less frame in a flexible manner. A queueing model and analysis is provided for optimizing power control and delay targets. A simulation study shows that our cell-less proposal significantly advances the state of the art both in terms of application and system performance.

To accommodate such service requirements, a cost efficient and flexible network architecture considering different service types is desired. The adoption of C-RAN can reduce infrastructure costs especially for dense deployments while at the same time centralize and hence optimize certain operations related with the control and data plane of the associated cells. This paper investigates such C-RAN approach in the context of TDD networks enabling a cell-less experience for users residing within overlapping areas. In particular, users are allowed to utilize selected sub-frames from different cells forming, in this way, a customized cell-less frame in a flexible manner. A queueing model and analysis is provided for optimizing power control and delay targets. Low-complexity symbol detection for massive MIMO uplink based on Jacobi method 基于Jacobi方法的大规模MIMO上行链路低复杂度符号检测

In this paper, we propose a low-complexity symbol detection algorithm for massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) uplink. Grounded on the fact that a primary property of the massive MIMO systems guarantees the convergence of the Jacobi method, the method is exploited in the linear detection so that the estimate of transmitted symbols can be obtained without employing the computationally intensive matrix inversion. In addition, we propose a multiplication-free initial estimate for the Jacobi method in order to lessen the computational complexity further. Owing to the elimination of matrix inversion and the efficient initial estimate, the proposed algorithm achieves near-optimal error-rate performance with fewer computations than the state-of-the-art schemes.

Context-aware unified routing for VANETs based on virtual clustering 基于虚拟集群的vanet上下文感知统一路由

We propose a context-aware routing protocol for vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). Two types of context information is considered in this paper specifically communication type (broadcast or unicast) and packet size. The proposed protocol constructs route based on virtual clustering which only exchanges beacon messages in one-hop neighborhood area. The packets are forwarded by the cluster heads, and the last 2-hop route is optimized by using a reinforcement learning algorithm which can attain good performance with low overhead. The advantage of the proposed protocol is shown by using computer simulations.
