In this paper, we propose a Regge-pole model with a Gaussian potential for studying hadron scattering at high energies. In the diffraction approximation and the consequences arising from the analyticity and unitarity of the scattering amplitude, an expression is obtained for the matrix of the scattering amplitude, for the cross section, and for the slope parameter of the diffraction cone for the reactions a+A® B+b . The resulting expressions are applied to p-p scattering. The results show that the model describes well the slope coefficient of the diffraction cone at energies below 102 GeV. For agreement with experiment at high energies, it is necessary to tune the parameters.

An extended fluid model is formulated that describes a corona microdischarge at atmospheric pressure in argon, taking into account the heating of the cathode-tip. Numerical calculations have been carried out, demonstrating two main modes of the negative corona: repetitively pulsed and glow discharge mode. For both modes, all the main parameters of the corona discharge plasma were obtained. It is shown that the appearance of Trichel pulses is in many respects similar to the transition from the Townsend to the glow discharge mode and is similar to self-oscillations manifested in a classical discharge with flat electrodes.

The influence of the solvent on the spectral-luminescent properties of bromcresol purple (BCP) has been studied. The spectral characteristics of the BCP are determined: half-width Δν1/2, Stokes shift Δν cm , molar absorption coefficient ε, intrinsic excited state lifetime τ, oscillator strength f . Using the Lippert equation, the dependence of the Stokes shift of the BCP on the orientational polarizability of the solvent was constructed. An analysis of the experimental data showed that the position of the maximum of the BCP absorption band in the region of 350-480 nm correlates with the acceptor number of the solvent: with a decrease in the acceptor number, the maximum of the band shifts to a shorter wavelength region (water > ethanol > toluene > acetone). The lowest absorption capacity of BCP was registered in toluene. Using the Lippert-Matagi equation, the change in the dipole moment in polar protic solvents upon excitation (16.2 D) was determined, which is higher than in aprotic solvents (10.4 D) due to the formation of H-bonds.

The electrical strength of the accelerating gap of a fore-vacuum plasma electron source is compared for different working gases: argon, nitrogen, oxygen, and helium. The dependences of the limiting electron emission current, above which breakdown occurs, on the voltage across the accelerating gap are presented. It has been established that the limiting emission currents are determined by the thickness of the emission electrode, the diameter of the holes in it, as well as the gas type and pressure. It has been established that for all gases the limiting emission currents decrease with increasing pressure. The limiting pressures, when exceeded, breakdown occurs, decrease in the series: helium, oxygen, nitrogen, argon. For different experimental conditions, the dependences of the limiting emission currents on the accelerating voltage can be both monotonically growing and containing an extremum.
