In this work, numerical and experimental analyses of a dual-band microstrip patch dipole-loop antenna are done. This design operates at amateur radio, amateur satellite (2.3-2.4 GHz) band and planned 5G mobile communication band; 3.4-3.8 GHz frequencies. There are two different radiating structures and regions in this antenna. One of the radiating structure is a rectangle shaped loop which is responsible for operation at lower frequency (2.3-2.4 GHz) and the other structure is a printed dipole which is responsible for operation of the upper (3.4-3.6 Hz) frequency. Apart from different operation frequencies, these structures also illustrates different radiation characteristics. The loop shaped region radiates bi-directional broadside radiation while the dipole part radiates with higher gain (peak gain 5 dBi). Proposed design is validated by High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and also measurements are carried out on fabricated prototype.

The usual variational statement of synthesis problem is generalized for accounting the additional requirements to the synthesized radiation pattern (RP) and field distribution in the appointed areas of a near zone. For this goal, the minimizing functional is supplemented by term providing the ability to minimize the values of field in these areas; the creating the deep minimums in the RP for the certain angular coordinates is realized too. The approach foresees the obtaining the explicit formula for the field values in a near zone. The results of computational modeling testify the ability to create zeros in the RP and to minimize significantly the values of field in a near zone of plane arrays.

In this study, a compact C-shaped printed antenna with reconfigurable band-notched characteristic is designed for ultra-wideband (UWB) operation. The basic structure is a C-shaped radiator with a very small size of 8×8 mm2 fed by a microstrip transmission line (MTL) with a matching line overall on 8×26 mm2 substrate under which a portion of 8×26 mm2 ground conductor is used. The capability of reconfigurable band-notched characteristic is gained by inserting a pin diode between the edges of C-shaped radiator. The antenna design is printed on a double sided copper with FR4 substrate. Based on measured result, the antenna provides an impedance bandwidth of 3.1-12.9 GHz (at VSWR=2) when it operates at ON state (full UWB). At OFF state, it passes the band of 3.0-3.5 GHz and 5.6-11.7 GHz, thus stop the band of 3.5-5.6 GHz corresponding to WIMAX and WLAN standard. Therefore, the proposed UWB antenna stands out over the literature in terms of geometry’s simplicity, compactness, near omnidirectional pattern, high efficiency as well as band-notched configurability.

A set of the modeling steps for hybrid dielectric rod antenna for the frequency range 1800-2200 MHz is considered. The hybrid dielectric rod surface mount antenna is modeled by method of moments in the FEKO software environment. The received results can be used by radar applications, radio monitoring and in systems of telecommunications.

We have obtained an expression for retarded potential of electromagnetic field for arbitrary moving point charged particle having a magnetic moment (corresponding terms are added to Lienard-Wiechert potential). The radiation reaction (recoil) force corresponding to radiation part of this field is calculated as well.

A three-layer composite with penny-shaped cracks in the field of harmonic torsional loading is considered. The solutions are chosen in the form of Helmholtz potentials with densities that characterize unknown crack opening functions. The problem is reduced to the solution of the system of two-dimensional boundary integral equations (BIEs). The influence of the frequency of the applied load, the ratio of the elastic constant parameters of the composite on the dynamic stress intensity factors in the defect vicinity is investigated.

Propagation of SH-waves in an elastic composite containing stochastically distributed thin piezoelectric inclusions is investigated. We consider the case of noncontrast piezoelectric inclusion, that is, mechanical parameters of the composite constituents are insignificantly different in comparison with the small relative thickness of inhomogeneities. Effective dynamic properties of the medium with randomly distributed piezoelectric inclusions are obtained using Foldy dispersion relationship with the involvement of solution for the single inclusion scattering problem. The influence of mechanical and geometric parameters of composite constituents on the effective wave velocities is analyzed.
