Some of appropriate 7-alkyl-8-piperazine derivatives of 3-methylxanthine were tested for their effect oncirculatory system, protection against adrenaline-, strophanthin-, and calcium chloride-induced arrhythmias, as wellascatecholamine metabolism in the heart of experimental animals. The most prominent antiarrhythmicactivity in this row was demonstrated by7-isopropyl-8-piperazine-3methylxanthine (compound 3) that in a conditional therapeutic dose of 13.7mg/kg prevented or decreased the incidence of adrenaline, strophanthine and calcium chloride evoked arrhythmias. In adrenaline and calcium-evoked model of arrhythmia compound 3decreased or delayed the incidence of arrhythmias by 37% and 55.7% respectively, as well as episodes and severity of extrasystoles by 37%, efficiently prevented bigeminy (70%, p < 0.01) and diminished (42.8%, p<0.05) mortality of animals. Some of investigated compounds (2-5) decreased heart rate by 10-18%, prolonged P-Q section, QRS complex and Q-T interval. 34 Iryna B. Samura et al. The most potent and significant negative chronotropic effect and markedly prolonged duration of P-Q section was demonstrated by compound 3. Theinfluence of investigated compounds on ECG components suggests that activity of compound 3 is similar to class 1A antiarrhythmic agents according to VoughanWilliams classification of antiarrhythmic drugs, because of prolongation of P-Q and Q-T intervals and extension of QRS complex. Compounds 3in a dose of 13.7 mg/kg within 0.5 h after intraperitoneal administration showed to protect against CaCl2-induced abnormalities in the metabolism of catecholamines–decarboxylation of 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) and methylation of norepinephrine. The mechanism of antiarrhythmic action of compound 3is most likely to include blockade of sodium channels of the conducting system of the heart, consequent indirect suppression of potassium ion exit from the cell as well as normalization of heart tissue catecholamines and their precursors content, along with the interference in the activity of the enzyme systems participating in the biotransformation of catecholamines.

The aim of the mini review is discuss the controversial role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family members in prediction of clinical outcomes in acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. Recent studies have shown that high levels of circulating VEGF in STEMI may characterize patients with extensive intracoronary thrombosis, as well as it could associate with favorable clinical outcomes. Although VEGF-A mediated angiogenesis and vasodilation, it was able to promote expression of cell adhesion molecules, such as E-selectin, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 in surface of endothelial cells, and up-regulated permeability, pro-coagulant activity and inflammation of microvasculature. Yet, exon 8 of VEGF-A gene is involved in the alternate splicing that determines whether the VEGF-A proteins are pro-angiogenic isoform or antiangiogenic isoform of VEGF-A. Moreover, anti-angiogenic potency of VEGF-A165b isoform can influence on developing of adverse cardiac remodeling and plaque rupture. In the review is reported that predictive value of VEGF family member predominantly 10 Alexander E. Berezin and Alexander A.

Determination of content of vitamin D and antimicrobic peptides (cathelicidin, β1defensins, lactoferrin and hBPI) in blood serum of 67 children with acute bacterial diseases of a respiratory system aged from 1 month up to 3 years taking into account the level of providing with vitamin D is carried out. The research showed that decrease in maintenance of a number of antimicrobial peptides in blood serum against the background of deficiency of vitamin D acts as risk factor of development of acute bacterial diseases of a respiratory system of children of early age.

The research is devoted to the current issue of medicine using of molecular-biological markers in implantation and prosthtetic rehabilitation of dental patients with dental defects and periodontal tissue diseases. Values of such biomarkers as MMP-8, cathelicidin and lactoferrin were estimated in the oral cavity fluid with the employment of enzyme multiplied immunoassay. 40 patients were selected for the present study. Among them, 10 healthy patients comprised observational group, and 30 patients with periodontium tissues diseases formed treatment group. There were 10 patients with first-degree periodontitis, 10 patients with second-degree periodontitis and 10 patients with third-degree periodontitis and defects of dental arches. Level of MMP-8 in oral cavity fluid increased directly depending on periodontitis degree. Values of LL-37 were estimated in inversed relation to MMP-8, i.e. they decreased according to periodontitis degree. Values of lactoferrin increased directly depending on periodontitis degree. Received findings indicates the destruction of connective tissue that points at the intensity of inflammation processes of oral cavity mucous membranes, decreasing of antimicrobial activity and decreasing of tissue immunity in the oral cavity. 2 V.N.
