"We Come From Different Worlds": The Collision of Caring and Carceral Institutions. "我们来自不同的世界":关爱机构与监禁机构的碰撞。

The purpose of this study was to give voice to the lived experiences of nurses and law enforcement officers whose professional responsibilities converge in the acute care setting, while gaining insight into the perspectives and interpretations of their experiences. Using interpretative phenomenological analysis, this quality study contributes to a growing body of literature exploring the influence of law enforcement in the hospital. Overwhelmingly, participants in this study expressed a contentious dynamic, fueled by arguments, struggles for power, and a feeling of coming from "different worlds." The influence of socially and spatially constructed territories was critical points of contention.

Evolution of the Language in the Science of Unitary Human Beings. 人类单元科学中的语言演变。

This article presents a discussion of the evolution of the language of the Science of Unitary Human Beings from the terms used by Martha Rogers in her 1970 book to changes in terms Rogers introduced in her publications over the ensuing years to new terms and language offered by Rogerian scholars before and after Rogers' death in 1994. The article follows from Rogers' insistence that the language of a science, which evolves from general language, should be specific to the level of abstraction of the relevant concepts.

A Socioecological Model of Heart Failure Self-Care. 心力衰竭自我照顾的社会生态模型。

Heart failure is a chronic, progressively worsening condition afflicting more than 64 million individuals worldwide. Heart failure outcomes are influenced by self-care, a naturalistic patient-centered decision-making process. The situation-specific theory of heart failure self-care addresses how this decision-making process determines actions and outcomes. However, little is known about the impact of socioecological determinants of health on heart failure self-care. A theoretical synthesis could advance the situation-specific theory of heart failure self-care through the inclusion of socioecological determinants of health. Thus, socioecological determinants of health related to heart failure self-care can be better explored, understood, and overcome through research and health promotion.

The Web today is not top-down as it once was; it is also a means for ordinary people to have a voice, and, possibly, to bypass the traditional limitations of media, be these limitations cultural, social, or political in nature. The important thing in this issue is that it focuses on Asia. In North America and Europe, Web 2.0 is typically a technology for strong ties or, to quote Kenneth Gergen’s recent paper in the Handbook of Mobile Communication Studies, “monadic clusters.” For example, I do follow one blog closely. It reports the first days of a baby of my former student who lives in California. I do read blogs by political journalists occasionally, but for me, Web 2.0 is primarily a way to keep in touch with friends. However, even though Web 2.0 surely functions like this in Asia as well, in countries where democracy and civil rights in the Western sense of the term cannot be taken for granted, it has political meanings too, as the papers by Katz and Lai and Thammo so clearly show. In particular, in dictatorships like Myanmar, the Internet functions much like rumor used to: It offers an important alternative channel of information and a way to maintain an alternative vision of society and politics. When there is no legitimate opposition, such alternativemay become the main check on political power. I cannot help thinking that had Web 2.0 existed in Cambodia in the 1970s, the Red Khmer massacres might have been avoided. However, when we descend from the politics proper to more subtle issues, we also see that Web 2.0 may play a role in shaping societies. As Yang argues, it may question existing cultural forms. As Hjort, focusing on gender, shows, it also gives people an opportunity to redraw the boundaries of their self. In societies more traditional than her home base, Melbourne, such an opportunity may be a matter of, if not outright, life and death, at least relevant in terms of identity and human dignity. The last two papers by Zhao show that even though the political context may be different, the Internet and Web 2.0 in Asia faces the same obstacles and also has a darker side, as elsewhere. A Critique of the Theory of Planned Behavior in the Cancer Screening Domain. 癌症筛查领域的计划行为理论批判。

The theory of planned behavior (TPB) has been widely used to guide research in cancer screening-related behavior, but no critique of the TPB's application in this domain has been published. We used Fawcett and DeSanto-Madeya's 2013 framework to analyze and evaluate the theory. The theory was developed on the basis of antecedent knowledge regarding human behavior, and its concepts and propositions are comprehensively delineated. The TPB shows adequate internal consistency and impressive social and theoretical significance. Methodologically sound studies are called for to further test some theory propositions and to evaluate its pragmatic adequacy for promoting cancer screening in nursing practice.

Framework for Patient and Informal Caregiver Participation in Research (PAICPAIR) 患者和非正式护理人员参与研究框架(PAICPAIR)

The term user involvement is frequently applied in research. Frameworks for patient and informal caregiver participation as coresearchers in studies concerning patients with life-threatening illness are however sparse. The PhD project Dying With Dignity—Dignity-Preserving Care for Older Women Living at Home With Incurable Cancer has implemented a thorough cooperation with patients and informal caregivers from the early stages of the research process. A framework for Patient and Informal Caregiver Participation In Research (PAICPAIR) is suggested—creating a stronger foundation for democracy, equality, and research quality by also promoting active participation among vulnerable people experiencing incurable, life-threatening illness, as coresearchers.

The conceptualization of assisted death as an act performed by physicians has resulted in a lack of attention to nurses' roles and experiences with the processes that surround an assisted death. In this article, we synthesize evidence from 6 articles focusing on the experiences of 55 nurses from Canada, Belgium, and the Netherlands, with relevant ethical and policy implications derived from the literature.
