Following Malte Henk’s article in Die Zeit, I present and analyze his optimistic thesis that Apocalypse is finally a good thing for humankind since it inducated anattitude in Western culture, which lead to the development of humanities, of science and technology.

Apocalypse and awakeningsAlpaslan ErtüngealpApocalypse and awakenings. This paper presents two conflicting meanings of apocalypse, one originating from the original literary meaning in Greek and the other derived from eschatological writings and visions of Christian and other religions. Apocalypse is presented here as a necessary means for the survival of the human race, that has innate destructive instincts and desires, which without the creation of the concept of apocalypse could have led to the self-extinction of the human race.

According to a group of researchers, philosophy also needs a renewal, and not only in the proceed on the ground of evidence-based arguments and critical thinking but also it has to participate effectively in the education process for the birth of action-oriented and socially responsible citizen. The article is looking for answers if philosophy, philosophers can have any roles in the current situation, in the possible solutions of the difficulties of our planet.

Innovation, ethics, responsibility in the information ageTibor Gulyás – Péter Szendrő – Gábor Szécsi Traditional communities can be regarded as moral entities that transform the individual through group pressure. Communal existence allows the individual to transcend himself and find partnership with humanity, and determinates the individual’s moral decisions and judgements. A community is based on dynamic reciprocity and responsibility, and is a fountainhead of social capital, that is, of a common set of shared moral values, norms and expectations that can be described as social trust that facilitates cooperation for mutual benefit. We argue that since this social and cultural process leads to a new conceptualization of responsibility and innovation in the information age, it is an important task to create a general ethical framework, value and norm system of innovation.

Business and PR EthicsAndrea Buday-Sántha Economic, political, environmental and technological transformations, that take place both domestically and globally as well as focus on the role of the cultural value crises and value changes, institutions and norms of ethics. It intends to point out the tendencies in the field of ethics, business and PR ethics, their causes and to their current phenomena, it clarifies the basic ethical values, the process of institutionalizing ethics, the practical phenomena and the challenge of ethics. It is a tendency of contradiction that the development ofethical institutions is fuelled by the devaluation of human and ethical values and new phenomena of our changing world. With the introduction of ethical institutions for professions, markets and organizations, - in this way, by demonstrating and publishing core values and applying innovative, evolving insurance solutions -, they protect existing ethical values, also curb the effects of negative trends, and thirdly, weakening individual, organizational, market and social morality.

The role of community energy production in future energy systemsPéter János Horváth Growing environmental concerns and the spread of renewable energy also spurred the so called decentralization process of predominantly centralized energy systems. Consumers and communities are key drivers of this process, not only as energy consumers, but also by producing and storing clean energy,aggregating individual energy productions, and even as distributors or energy service providers. The new EU legislation also recognizes the important role of energy communities in the energy transformation process, which can bring about better social acceptance of renewable energy production, but also many environmental, economic or social benefits to the local community. Our study aims to present the nature and role of community energy production in energy systems, and outlines a vision of community energy for Hungary and the EU as a whole.
