Or never?Tamás Kis PongráczBefore I find the answer to the question: “Is there a particular relevance of the risk of apocalypse coming close, due to the pandemic?”, I try to clarify briefly how the notion of apocalypse changed through time. After that, in agreement with the spiritual evolutionism of Teilhard de Chardin and based on this theory I give reasons that human kind is not at the end of its road but it has started to grow adolescent and will truly deploy itself from now on.

László Halász
The Eight Deadly SinsLászló HalászOur universe is likely to contain millions of planets similar to our own. But there is no sign of life, especially intelligent life. Therefore, Enrico Fermi asked the question 70 years ago: ‘Where are they?’. The best answer I have ever heard was given by Nobel laurate Konrad Lorenz in his booklet Civilized Man’s Eight Deadly Sins. Our species, says Lorenz, thanks to natural selection could climb to the top of the pyramid of living species, but there are no selection factors which support goodness and trustworthiness.

Transition from chaos to cosmos, or the hopeful ending of the apocalypse, especially with regard to interpersonalismBalázs SzabóStarting from a biblical approach, in this short paper I would like discuss a few thoughts with regard to the theme of apocalypse. I focus mostly on the relations of chaos and cosmos; hope; and last but not least, interpersonal structure. In my line of thought I would like to point out some crucial characteristics concerning the genre of apocalyptic literature. To be more specific, I seek tounderline the distinctive paraenetic attributes of apocalyptic language in terms of a community that culminates in relevant personalist insights.

Covid19 is a renaissance of natureÁkos BendesThe newly emerged pandemy sheds light on many issues ranging from fragility of our supply chains to economic depression, and all of them have ethical dimensions. To be more precise, we need to clarify the exact nature of a just conduct in the situations arising from crisis. However, the appealing consequentialist theories usually fall short of meeting a fundamental principle, namely the criterion of equal treatment. In the twentieth century, the hegemony of utilitarism started to decline because of the appearance of more sophisticated views. These theories are trying to reconcile the idea of equal moral worth withutilitarist considerations.

Disharmony, apocalypse and powerAttila Farkas In my writing, I reconstruct the historical steps of the development of a suboptimal equilibrium between nature and man, I consider the solidification of the password “Dominion over nature” as a result of misunderstandings, at the same time I also criticise the standpoint that the efforts made so far to create harmony between man and nature would have been in vain.
