Healthcare ICT includes a range of interventions including telemedicine, electronic health records (EHR), data analytics, artificial intelligence, sensor technology, and wearables devices. In achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the time has come to accelerate the development of affordable and sustainable health systems that respect people's needs and values. Because, as a component of a health program, it can augment capacity and improve the overall effectiveness of a health development program. Digitalization and technological advances, including sensors, are transforming connected healthcare into inclusive healthcare, enabling remote monitoring and support for chronically ill patients both inside and outside healthcare facilities. Therefore, wearable biosensors are becoming increasingly effective in the prevention, early diagnosis, control, and treatment of diseases. It has also been observed that due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the world has undergone a radical shift in healthcare with a new shift towards Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM). Assistive ICT also ensures safety, social communication, and greater independence for elderly and vulnerable people with chronic diseases. Bearing in this mind, ICT-assisted healthcare paradigm has been proposed that emphasizes on socio-economic and techno-ethical dimensions of healthcare services for health and wellbeing.

To investigate the influence of meteorological conditions on the temperature distribution of the surrounding rock and lining of tunnel in seasonally frozen areas, taking into account phase change, a temperature field model was established based on the principles of continuum mechanics and thermodynamics. The effect of different meteorological conditions on the radial temperature field distribution of the tunnel was explored by varying the annual mean temperature and annual temperature amplitude in the model. Then, the spatio-temporal distribution model of temperature field in the surrounding rock was established. Results show that the latent heat of phase change is not negligible in the modelling process of tunnel in cold region. The annual average temperature has a significant impact on the freezing depth, and the freezing depth of the surrounding rock will gradually increase when the annual average temperature falls below 0°C. The freezing depth of the surrounding rock varies periodically when the average annual temperature is greater than 0°C. The amplitude of the surrounding rock temperature decreases exponentially with the increase of the radial depth of the surrounding rock. After reaching a certain depth, the amplitude of temperature tends to 0, and the average temperature of surrounding rock changes logarithmically. The conclusions provide a significant reference for the frost protection design of tunnel in cold regions.

The objective of this paper is to examine the thermal performance of a LHTES system comprised of a single tube, by means of a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) computer code. Two different types of fins, straight and annular, were considered to enhance the heat conduction between the tube and the RT42 Phase Change Material (PCM). The dimensions of the fins were elected so that the total area of the fins to be almost equal, in both configurations. The RT42 PCM is a paraffin wax with medium to high thermal energy storage and chemically inert. Whereas possible, temperature dependent thermal properties, provided by the producer, used for the definition of the material model. Between the finless tube and the one with straight fins, the melting time reduction was approximately 56.7% and between the finless and the annular tube, the PCM melt time was reduced by 61.5%. Heat conduction was the driving heat transfer mechanism during the first seconds of the PCM melting process. On the other hand, natural convection was the lead heat transfer method as the liquid PCM was able to move due to density and temperature differences. The investigation of the liquid PCM travel revealed that in the finless model and the one with the straight fins the PCM movement was parallel to the axial direction whereas in the model with the annular fins the velocity of the PCM was parallel to

Effective network communication is thought to require a solid foundation and dependable network architecture. This is necessary for the network's many connected devices to distribute data effectively. This study took into account a well-known local area network topology with a star topology to accomplish this goal. Three architectures for the ICT Center network: ICT Centre A, ICT Centre B, and ICT Centre C were each modelled in an OPNET simulation environment using application traffic from HTTP, FTP, Email, and Database. The number of workstations in each architecture ranged from 40 to 80 to 120. Statistics like Ethernet delay (sec), load (bits/sec), and traffic received (bits/sec) were taken into consideration for each Centre. Due to a large number of workstations, the server at ICT Centre C delivered the highest traffic volume, while ICT Centre B outperformed the others in terms of Ethernet delay reduction. The server at ICT Centre C had the highest load. This demonstrates the need for a lower number of workstations to be taken into account when designing a communication network for faster data transmission.
