Biometric data encryption using 3-D chaotic system 基于三维混沌系统的生物特征数据加密

Biometrics is gaining a lot of popularity as a tool to authenticate an individual using the unique biometric attributes. The exchange of biometric data over unsecured network channels makes it vulnerable to breach of security by illegal access. To overcome this challenge this paper proposes an efficient and secured chaos based encryption scheme having exceptionally desirable complex behavior which is difficult to predict and analyze. In this paper for shuffling the pixels of biometric data Arnold cat map is used and diffusion is also introduced after scrambling to make the encryption process non invertible. This method uses 3-D Chen chaotic system to change the statistical properties of biometric data so as to resist statistical attacks. Experimental results also show the resistant of proposed algorithm against perceptual and brute force attacks makes it suitable for transmission of biometric data over open and shared networks.

Investigations of various SRAM cell structures for leakage energy reduction 各种SRAM电池结构降低泄漏能量的研究

In this Paper different SRAM (Static Random Access Memories) cells are studied and compared w.r.t. their power dissipations and current leakage. These different studied structures are also compared with a normal 6-T SRAM cell, which is simulated under 180nm technology. As per outlooks some of the studied improved structures have less power consumptions then the regular 6-T SRAM cell. The static energy drop is clear but this also displays that it didn't came down as per expectation level. The possible causes are diverse, nevertheless, it is agreed that the other factors cause increment in dynamic leakage energy, which possibly is a reason for such results. However there is some work done in such case also, that has been discussed in later half of the paper. The total reduction in dissipation for the studied techniques was found to be in the range of 35%–66% approximately.

60 Gbps transmission with reduced power and lower frequency in lightwave systems using negative dispersion optical fiber 在使用负色散光纤的光波系统中,以更低的功率和更低的频率传输60 Gbps

Higher data rate transmission over longer distances is the need of this era where a huge number of communication users are being added up on a daily basis. This is not a easy task due to presence of fiber impairments which are of two types linear and non-linear. Dispersion occurs due to longer distances and high transmitting power of the light signals which ultimately degrades the received signal at the output side. This paper focuses on the removal of fiber non-linearities in lightwave systems for the transmission of 60 gbps data rate over varying transmission distances (150–850 km) with reduced power (0 dBm/1mW). Negative dispersion optical fiber i.e. MetroCor Optical Fiber is being used for this purpose instead of SMF-28 (Simple Mode Fiber) which provides an additional advantage of removing DCB (Dispersion Compensation Bank) and additional dispersion compensation techniques such as pre, post and symmetric can be avoided. Efficiency of overall system has been improved and BER (Bit Error Rate) is minimized. The relation between transmission distance, quality factor and BER has been focused.

Network controlled distributed energy management system for smart cities 面向智慧城市的网络化分布式能源管理系统

The Network Controlled Distributed Energy Management System (NCDEMS) has been designed in compliance with IEEE 21451 standards. The developed system is capable of improving the power quality, efficiency of distributed energy resources, and power distribution for smart cities. The voltage and current sensors modules are implemented successfully. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) Apps of local and remote level are developed in LabVIEW. The voltage and current sensors are calibrated through the results comparison of the well-known system. The internet of things (IoT) network module has been implemented and can be integrated to the home appliances. The IoT based Apps have been implemented for the smart devices. The system is of low cost, high accuracy, and user friendly.

A 40 nm CMOS V-band VCO with on-chip body bias voltage control technique 采用片上偏置电压控制技术的40nm CMOS v波段压控振荡器

This paper presents a 40 nm CMOS V-band voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). With using on-chip body bias voltage control technique, the phase noise and stability of the output signal are improved. The design was fabricated by RF Mixed-signal CMOS process with die size 0.078 mm2. Based on the silicon results, the proposed V-band VCO can achieve the phase noise of-86 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset. The VCO draws 17.8 mA current from a 1.2 V supply. Compared with the traditional structure VCO of the same batch, the measured FOM is optimized from-165.4 dB to-169 dB, meanwhile the output signal power offset is reduced by 1.8 dBm.

BER analysis of various modulation schemes over GG fading channel for differential dual hop relaying system 差分双跳中继系统在GG衰落信道上各种调制方案的误码率分析

Differential dual hop relay based system has been introduced to solve the coverage problem. However, fading channel is the weak link of any wireless system. Generalized Gamma (GG) distribution is one of the fading models of wireless communication. However, GG fading channel is not available in any of the software packages. This research paper presents BER analysis of differential dual hop relaying system followed by simulating GG fading channel. Different modulation schemes namely DBPSK and DQPSK have been considered for analyzing the BER of the above system. Furthermore, different channel scenarios between source-relay (SR) and relay-destination (RD) also have been considered for analyzing the above system. Namely, when both SR & RD is slow fading, when SR is fast fading & RD is slow fading and when both SR & RD is fast fading. Numerical analysis also shows the validity of results.

Automated computer vision method for optic disc detection from non-uniform illuminated digital fundus images 非均匀照明数字眼底图像视盘检测的自动计算机视觉方法

Accurate segmentation of optic disc from fundus images is an essential step to develop automatic screening device for eye pathologies. Automatic and correct segmentation of optic disc from non-uniformly illuminated or abnormal/affected fundus images is still a challenging issue. The proposed work presents a computer vision based method for optic disc segmentation from variety of normal, affected and blurred/non uniform illuminated fundus images. The methodology involves separation of super pixels from fundus images followed by removal of false positives like reflections, exudates, choroid vessels using analysis of geometrical features for correct optic disc segmentation. The proposed method was tested on both normal and abnormal/affected fundus images obtained from local eye hospital and achieved 90.78% overlapping ratio. The proposed OD segmentation method is robust and computationally cheap which makes it applicable for real time.

Improved lip contour extraction using K-means clustering and ellipse fitting 基于k均值聚类和椭圆拟合的唇形轮廓提取方法的改进

A Visual Speech Recognition system is completely dependent on correct extraction of lip contours. The extracted lip contour can be useful in tracking the lip movements in Visual Speech Recognition. The accuracy of the system can be improved by correct extraction of the lip contours. In this paper, a computer vision approach is proposed to automatically extract lip contour from the face image. The proposed technique uses Viola Jones algorithm to localize the face and mouth in the image. Unlike existing methods merge thresholds used in Viola Jones are made iterative and adaptive which makes it invariant to the quality of input image. The colour space conversion and clustering method results in separation of lip from non lip pixels which are further subjected to morphological operations and ellipse fitting for an efficient lip contour extraction. The proposed method has been tested on 4000 images from the VidTimit database and results showed significant improvement in lip segmentation than some of the existing methods for lip contour extraction. The proposed method is computationally efficient and robust and can be used for real time applications.

In this paper, a computer vision approach is proposed to automatically extract lip contour from the face image. The proposed technique uses Viola Jones algorithm to localize the face and mouth in the image. Unlike existing methods merge thresholds used in Viola Jones are made iterative and adaptive which makes it invariant to the quality of input image. The colour space conversion and clustering method results in separation of lip from non lip pixels which are further subjected to morphological operations and ellipse fitting for an efficient lip contour extraction. The proposed method has been tested on 4000 images from the VidTimit database and results showed significant improvement in lip segmentation than some of the existing methods for lip contour extraction. Comparative analysis of convolutional codes based on ML decoding 基于ML解码的卷积码比较分析

Viterbi algorithm is based on Maximum Likelihood Decoding Method. It finds a path from 2k total path through trellis that maximizes the path conditional probability. During decoding it compares the metric of all partial path entering each state. this paper involves brief information about Convolutional code in terms of strategies of encoding and decoding of convolutional codes and also, Recursive Systematic Convolutional Encoder is designed with BPSK Modulation and decoding is done by use of ML Decoding Method, compares the BER vs SNR performance at different code rates and find that as SNR increases the BER improves and also as number of bits are increases the performance of communication system also improves. At 3 db SNR the BER is 10⁁-2, when the number of bits are 2048 and 4096 at 4db SNR the BER is close to 10⁁-3.

Automatic age detection based on facial images 基于面部图像的自动年龄检测

In this paper, the proposed implementation of a soft-biometric system for automatic age detection from facial images is described. In order to do this, the method followed was that of a classical biometric system. The first step is preprocessing, to enhance the feature extraction. The next step is the parameterization, where techniques like wavelet transformed, discrete cosine transformed or local binary patterns were used. And finally, the last step is the classification system, implemented by Support Vector Machines.
