Among sports injuries, due to the involved organs and specific patterns of different sports, shoulder joint injuries are frequently observed. Studies have reported chronic and acute shoulder pain symptoms in 30%–40% of athletes. Among all shoulder injuries, shoulder impingement syndrome is the most common cause of pain and limitation of the function of the shoulder area. This study aimed to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of slide board training on pain, shoulder joint function, and quality of life in male swimmers with shoulder impingement syndrome. The subjects of this research included 30 swimmers with shoulder impingement syndrome selected in an accessible and purposeful manner, divided into two groups of slide board exercises (15 people) and a control group (15 people) to evaluate the subjects’ performance from the close kinetic chain upper extremity stability test, the pain level from the visual the analog scale questionnaire, the quality of life from the SF-36 quality of life questionnaire, and the balance from the Y balance test. Muscle strength measure used a muscular dynamometer, and shoulder joint range of motion measure used a goniometer. Repeated measures ANOVA test analyzed the data at a significance level of p<0.05. The results showed that slide board exercises had a significant effect on pain, functional stability of the shoulder joint, upper limb function, muscle strength, shoulder range of motion, and quality of life (p≥0.05), but no significant difference was in the control group in the pre-test and post-test (p˃0.05). Considering the positive effect of slide board exercises on pain, stability of shoulder joint function, upper limb balance, muscle strength, range of motion of the shoulder, and quality of life, the authors propose using these exercises in the rehabilitation stages of patients with shoulder impingement syndrome. Keywords: shoulder impingement syndrome, shoulder joint function, quality of life, swimmers, slide board training. https://doi.org/10.55463/issn.1674-2974.50.9.1

Confectionary, biscuits, and savory snacks (including crisps and extruded snacks) are the most commonly consumed foods. Further efforts are required to develop snacks that offer positive health benefits. Possible options include adding ingredients with positive health benefits, such as fruits and vegetables. Researchers have investigated extrusion cooking as a means of creating snacks that fulfill the dietary needs of specific population groups. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different functional ingredients on the quality of extruded phyto-snacks. This study investigated the interactions between functional ingredient powders, the extrusion process, nutritional qualities, and antioxidant activities of the resulting product. The exact process conditions, encompassing a speed rate of 400 rpm, moisture content of 15%, and barrel temperatures of 70 and 120 o C, were employed to extrude five samples. We evaluated the nutritional properties, including soluble, insoluble, dietary fiber, and carbohydrate content. In addition, we assessed phytochemical composition and antioxidant activities using DPPH and TBARS assays. Adding functional ingredients powder significantly (P < 0.05) affects the extrudates' nutrition, phytochemical, and antioxidant activities. The novel functional ingredients were enriched with fiber and antioxidants. Deliver snack products with an equilibrium between nutrition and antioxidants. Further work would investigate the effect of functional ingredient powders and the process conditions on physical properties and sensory preferences while bridging the innovation–health nexus within the snack industry and advancing the frontier of functional food formulations. Optimal power flow (OPF) is a significant problem in electrical engineering. The optimization method of the Hunger Games Search (HGS) algorithm was presented in this study, which finds the OPF under different case studies. These cases include reducing the total fuel cost, minimizing power losses in transmission lines, reducing the amount of pollutants generated by units, and minimizing voltage variation at load buses. MATLAB software was used to test the suggested algorithm using the IEEE 30-bus power system. The findings indicate that the suggested algorithm was effective in accomplishing the goals of obtaining a reduction of 11.30% in the use of fuel cost, a reduction of 46.90% in power loss, a reduction of 88.11% in voltage fluctuation, and a reduction of 3.38% in pollutants while simultaneously satisfying all of the restrictions. We compared the used and published optimization methods. Finally, the HGS presented good performance in terms of power loss and fuel cost compared with other techniques. https://doi.org/10.55463/issn.1674-2974.50.8.11
