This paper discusses simulation and experimental results of a study aimed at diagnosing faults associated with an automotive engine exhaust emissions control system. Parity space methods are applied to a model of the engine intake, fueling, combustion and exhaust dynamics to diagnose faults in sensors and actuators used by the exhaust emissions control system. The results indicate that a mix of linear and nonlinear models permit the design of an effective diagnostic strategy.

Analysis and Resonance Stabilization of Bifurcation Phenomena in Aircraft Flight 飞机飞行中分岔现象的分析与共振稳定

This paper addresses a theoretical framework for a unified methodology which allows analysis of nonlinear stability and efficient control of high-dimensional nonlinear plants modeling aircraft flight. It is shown that analysis of nonlinear transition phenomena (bifurcations) is central to revealing the limitation of robust control (i.e., an accurate estimate of the basin of stability). Omitting transition behavior causes over control and provides a very local stabilization. Analysis and control of bifurcations of aircraft flight are given in the spirit of the generalized normal forms method which provides one with the nonreduceable system preserving stability characteristics of the initial plant. Stabilization of a plants bifurcations is then given in terms of the resonance control methodology.

Controllability of Linear Time Varying Systems: New Algebraic Criteria 线性时变系统的可控性:新的代数准则

Conditions for complete controllability of the above systems are derived in terms of the rank of these matrices.

System identification and H∞ synthesis for a non-colocated space structure control experiment 非配位空间结构控制实验的系统辨识与H∞综合

This paper documents a robust control design experiment in a technology demonstration for Advanced Reconfigurable Control (ARC). The objective of the experiment is to develop an integrated identification and robust synthesis methodology for vibration suppression of large space structures. The overall methodology has been partially implemented and evaluated on a complex flexible structure experiment at JPL. The identification approach is based on a recent frequency domain method which estimates both a state space model and an additive uncertainty weighting for robust control design (Bayard and Yam [13]). The control part is based on a novel H2 / H∞ approach with a hierarchical MIMO inner/outer loop design structure. This case study indicates that the integrated design methodology provides an effective approach to developing vibration controllers for large space structures, or related applications involving plants of commensurate complexity.

Continuum Fluid Models for Plasma Etching Reactor Control 等离子体蚀刻反应器控制的连续流体模型

In this paper, a novel implicit implementation of the ENO-Roe scheme is presented. For the particular example considered here (a fluid plasma model), cpu time requirements for the implicit scheme were found to be as much as three orders of magnitude less than that for the explicit scheme. This indicates that implicit implementation may be critical for solution of multi-dimensional problems with reasonable computer resources. These simulation results allow the computation of steady-state gains between variables that affect and are affected by the plasma presence.

A Direct Adaptive Control Scheme for Disk File Servos 磁盘文件伺服的直接自适应控制方案

This paper presents a direct adaptive control scheme for disk file track following servos. The scheme is designed to enhance the performance of a fixed observer based controller in the face of plant uncertainty and operating in a stochastic environment. The compensator used in each disk file is individually tuned with the use of an add-on adjustable FIR filter, Q, utilizing a linear fractional transformation (LFT) known as the Youla-Kucera parameterization. Similarly, the difference between the actual disk drive dynamics and the nominal model is characterized by an unknown transfer function, S, using the Youla-Kucera parameterization applied to the plant rather than to the compensator. The adaptive scheme utilizes two parameter adaptation algorithms running simultaneously. An recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm is used to identify the transfer function S which quantifies the mismatch between the actual disk file and the nominal disk file model. A second parameter adaptation algorithm is used to identify the finite impulse response (FIR) compensator Q. The goal of the overall adaptive controller is to minimize the specified H2 cost.

Optimal Redesign of Linear Systems 线性系统的最优再设计

This paper suggests a redesign procedure for linear systems. We suppose that an initial satisfactory controller which yields the desired performance is given. Then both the plant and the controller are redesigned to minimize the required active control effort. Either the closed loop system matrix or the closed loop covariance of the initial design can be preserved under the redesign. Convex quadratic programming solves this problem. In addition, an iterative approach for integrated plant and controller design is also proposed, which uses the above algorithm in each step. Convergence of this algorithm is also proved. Examples are included to illustrate the procedure.

Non-Collocated Flexible Beam Motion Control based on a Delayed Adaptive Inverse Method 基于延迟自适应逆方法的非配位柔性梁运动控制

The viability of a delayed adaptive inverse method for motion control of the tip of a flexible beam is demonstrated in this paper. This method is based on an adaptive linear FIR filter which provides a stable and close approximation to the inverse plant dynamics. Such FIR filters can be used to control non-minimum phase systems, certain nonlinear systems, or plants of unknown dynamics and can be implemented using real-time interrupt driven high performance computational devices such as digital signal processing (DSP) based hardware. The effects of varying parameters of the delayed adaptive inverse controller (such as the values of the initial weights, the gain constants, and the length of delay) on the system performance are presented. Since the method is computationally efficient, it can be used in high bandwidth applications for control of complex plants given only the desired and the actual measured outputs for the plant. A feedback controller is used in conjunction with the delayed adaptive inverse controller to eliminate the residual errors that would occur if only feedforward control were used. This delayed adaptive inverse method is then compared to an H¿-based loopshaping controller.

A feedback controller is used in conjunction with the delayed adaptive inverse controller to eliminate the residual errors that would occur if only feedforward control were used. L∞ norm constant approximation of unstable systems 不稳定系统的L∞范数常数逼近

The zeroth order optimal L approximation of unstable linear time invariant systems is studied in this paper. A suboptimal computational scheme, based on balanced realization for unstable systems, is developed, and corresponding error bound is obtained. Also, an L error bound for unstable systems is derived.
