Introduction. Because of de increase of the poblation and the heterogeneity of the aging process, it is necessary to know the elements that contribute to successful old age. So the purpose of this study was to identify the type and source of support than has greatest impact on quality of life of elderly mexican participants. Material and Method. Was interviewed a voluntary and intentional sample of143older adults, about their quality of life and satisfaction with the social supportnetwork. Results. Family and not-family links provide types of support that have a specific significant effect on the different components of quality of life and even, except for the couple, not-family support has a greater number of quality effects of life. Conclusions. The diversification and strengthening of all links that make up the network is necessary, because of each link is a potential provider of different types of support, contributes to strengthening the quality of life in this population group.

Currently, the genetic modification of plants, animals and other organisms has intensified and has allowed the development of increasingly advanced methods. The creation of transgenic foods, their use and distribution have generated various positions, since there is no certainty about their effects on human health or the environment. The objective of bioethics is then to question what is the best environment for the development of new food technologies and balances the ideas of the sectors that support or reject the production and use of genetically modified organisms, and in this way promotes clear and free knowledge of the information contained in these products.

The chronic condition of some pathology may lead the patient to a critical condition or even to an end-stage, putting the multidisciplinary group in an ethical conflict; as well as the family. Considering that the objective of healthcare staff has always been the well-being through prevention and correction of the clinical condition, avoiding, at all times, to relief pain and suffer, now having to address the therapeutic help to a “good death” of the patient. The cultural conditions have changed and death is not perceived the same way it used to be, nor by the society nor the group providing attention and care to the critical or end-stage patient, generating expectations for each case, separating the patient from reason and reality (1). Today, science has had a technological advance having a direct impact on the vital function of the patient, having a direct influence on the time, but mainly on the way of death, focusing the attention on the possible decisions of the seriously sick patient, starting the era of an “assisted death”, as opposed to a natural death (1,2).

Bioethics and Human Rights are knowledge fields that every health professional has to master to perform their work with quality and respect to human dignity, especially regarding health-related research. The purpose of this review is to identify the main documents that allow the researcher to be able to obey national and international ethical guidelines during the design, implementation, information management and evaluation of health-related researches. Promoting the use of this type of resources will strengthen the related procedures to produce scientific material about health respecting bioethical principles and protecting human rights.

This demands professional health care staff with a competent training to serve them. However, sometimes this duo becomes devalued due to several factors like malpractice leading to a medical complaint. Is in this scenario that CONAMED plays an important role with its strategy of mediation offering alternative methods to solve disputes or conflicts within the medical practice.

Objective. To describe the beginnings and evolution of this condition, as well as to generate a proposal in the medical practice for the trauma service in order to avoid complications due to inadequate patient care derived from the intervention of resident doctors; not yet defined as traumatologists as the main axis of disability and complications generated in the patient with coxa-osteoarthritis. Material and methods. A case of coxa-osteoarthritis with disabling complications derived from non-specialized care with traumatic and disabling consequences for the patient was analyzed based on laboratory tests and what the patient refers. Results. The patient is on sick leave and her life quality has been affected because of a femoral fracture caused by a physician who was not specialized in traumatology. This showed quality deficiency in medical care, diagnostic errors, poor professional capacity of the health care staff, delay in scheduled X-Ray studies, poor imaging technique hampering a timely diagnosis, and the health care staff being indifferent to the pain of others. Conclusion. The patient is on permanent disability from work, with a left femur prosthesis derived from the fracture caused by a medical resident who was not specialized in trauma.

The situation humanity is currently experiencing is an unforeseen event for which we were not prepared. Unquestionably, the health systems in the world collapsed along with the increase in positive cases of COVID-19. Medical personnel and members of other health care disciplines did not have the necessary training to carry out the necessary protection when dealing with infected patients, however, it was work that had to be done. The death of the first doctors was the turning point at which it was evident that high security measures were required, as well as sufficient training for them to continue their work. Despite the measures implemented, contagion remained a reality. Added to this, at least in our country, the response of the population, which in many cases has been negative, accompanied by attacks on staff, damage to infrastructure and violation of the fundamental rights of other patients. The objective of this article is to present the current situation and help to create awareness of the risk that doctors and other health workers experience in their day to day, since the beginning of this pandemic.

Over time, older adults become more vulnerable and undergo physical and mental changes that make them much more fragile. Diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, eating imbalances, heart ailments, hearing, visual and nervous system problems appear that affect their quality of life, as well as their family environment. In this context, for doctors and the family, the task of caring for a patient with Parkinson's is not easy, it implies medication, as well as the need to involve values, principles and ethical beliefs when caring for them. In this sense, it is necessary to reflect on professional and non-professional care in patients with Parkinson's in a care that must be based on respect, tolerance, patience and solidarity. Therefore, it is bioethics that promotes these attitudes of compassion and empathy towards older adults in the medical and family spheres with the aim that they can live this stage of their life with greater optimism and hope.
