High power factor, low voltage stress, LED driver without electrolytic capacitor 高功率因数,低电压应力,LED驱动器无电解电容

An LED driver without electrolytic capacitor, which the LEDs are driven by the proposed pulsating current, is presented. In doing so, film capacitors can be adopted instead of electrolytic capacitors to achieve a long power supplies' lifetime. Most importantly, the proposed LED driver can not only achieve a near-unity input power factor, but also very low voltage stress. The control circuit is very easy. It is particularly suitable for public LED lighting systems, such as road lighting systems. Implementation circuit and simulation results are presented in this paper to confirm the validity of the proposal.

This work describes the design and optimization of an non resonant electromagnetic energy harvester to generate electrical power from slow oscillating movements present in the ambient (produced by the sea waves, the wind,…), which associated energy has an inherent variable nature and randomness and a wide range of low frequencies and high displacement amplitudes. A spherical magnet with a spindle moves inside a cylindrical coil along large distances owing to the little inclination produced by the oscillations. Such inertial generator has many advantages for powering remote systems and autonomous applications. It is clean, robust, and can be manufactured as hermetic systems without maintenance costs. Simulations of the generated average power densities are compared to experimental results from a first set of prototypes.

Design and analysis of an axial-field permanent magnet generator with multiple stators and rotors 多定子和转子轴向磁场永磁发电机的设计与分析

An innovative axial-field permanent magnet generator (AFPMG) with multiple stators and double rotors is designed and the structural and electromagnetic features are investigated. This generator has two permanent magnet (PM) rotors at the left — and right-hand sides of a double-sided stator. In order to get benefit from the magnetic flux produced at the outer parts of the generator, two other stators are also positioned near the PM rotors. AFPMG is mainly considered for wind energy applications and it has three phases. The electromagnetic features are characterized by finite element method (FEM) and the transient solutions are analyzed based on a proposed equivalent magnetic circuit model using three phases of induced emf at the coils having two different geometries. New AFPMG generates 80V at each phase for a constant velocity of 125 rpm and it has an efficient dynamics with low cogging torque values.

Optimal recursive rotor current estimation applied to speed control of dual three-phase induction machine 最优递归转子电流估计在双三相感应电机转速控制中的应用

The Kalman Filter (KF) is a very powerful tool when it comes to controlling noisy systems, because it provides optimal filtering of the noise in measurement and inside the system if the covariance matrices of these noises are known. This paper addresses the study of the KF application to improve the estimation of states through an optimal estimation of the rotor current and proposes a speed control for a dual three-phase induction machine (DTPIM), by using a model-based predictive controller (MBPC). The KF equations are raised using a DTPIM model in stationary reference frame (α — β), considering as state variables the stator and rotor currents. Simulation results are provided to examine the effectiveness of the optimal estimation of the rotor current.

Bearing housing vibrations in soft mounted two-pole induction motors caused by static rotor eccentricity 静态转子偏心引起的软装双极感应电动机轴承座振动

The paper shows a theoretical analysis of the sleeve bearing housing vibrations of soft mounted two-pole induction motors, caused by static rotor eccentricity. By neglecting field damping effects and considering maximum homopolar flux, a maximum radial magnetic force is calculated — as a worst case — acting on the rotor and on the stator in the smallest air gap of the motor and oscillating with double supply frequency. This electromagnetic force is implemented in an analytical machine dynamic model and the sleeve bearings housing vibrations are calculated.

Selection of load buses for DG placement based on loss reduction and voltage improvement sensitivity 根据降低损耗和提高电压的敏感性来选择DG放置的负载母线

Distributed generation (DG) has emerged as a key option for promoting energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources in alternative to the traditional generation. The DG sources are generally integrated to the network mainly to reduce the power losses, avoid congestion, improve voltage profile and provide electricity during peak load. This paper presents a method to select the load buses for the placement of DGs based on loss reduction and voltage improvement sensitivity of the system. The strategic placement of DGs can help in reducing power losses and improving voltage profile. The proposed work discusses some factors that can be useful for selecting the locations. Benefits of employing DGs are analyzed using voltage performance index (VPI) and loss sensitivity factor (LSF). The method has the potential to be used for integrating the available DGs by identifying the best locations in a power system. The proposed method has been demonstrated on standard 5-bus test system and IEEE 24-bus Reliability Test System (RTS).

Fuzzy self-tuning PI controller for phase-shifted series resonant converters 相移串联谐振变换器的模糊自整定PI控制器

A linearized model of the phase-shifted series resonant converter is necessary for closed loop design. With fixed PI control design, the converter does not have good disturbance rejection capability and cannot always cope with a wide range of uncertainties. In this paper, a PI self-tuning mechanism based on a fuzzy logic scheme is proposed. It corrects the PI gains, initially designed using small-signal modeling, to improve converter dynamic response and disturbance rejection. The algorithm is based on continuous change/adaptation of the PI gains until best dynamic response is achieved. Simulation results compare responses for the PI fixed parameters with the fuzzy-adapted controller gains under different disturbance conditions.

Adaptive repetitive controller for a three-phase Dynamic Voltage Restorer 三相动态电压恢复器的自适应重复控制器

Voltage sags and swells, voltage harmonics and voltage imbalances in power systems may affect sensitive loads causing production interruption or equipment damage. Now-a-days series voltage compensation using power electronics devices is a promising solution for these problems and the design, control and application of this type of devices have drawn much attention in the literature. Comprehensive controllers for Dynamic Voltage Restores (DVR's) have already been proposed to tackle all those problems simultaneously, although several aspects need closer attention. This paper addresses several implementation issues for a discrete algorithm to control a three phase DVR. The controller is divided into a main one and an auxiliary one. The former is based on a state-feedback controller to achieve a fast transient response when voltage sags occur. The latter uses a repetitive controller to improve steady-state reference tracking and disturbance rejection in order to tackle harmonic and imbalance problems. This paper focuses on the repetitive-controller part. Firstly, a new method to improve the repetitive controller performance with small frequency deviations in the grid is presented. Secondly, the classical repetitive controller is modified so that the response to non-periodic disturbances is improved. Finally, the main contributions of the paper are illustrated by simulation using a test system built with SIMULINK and its PowerSim toolbox.

Now-a-days series voltage compensation using power electronics devices is a promising solution for these problems and the design, control and application of this type of devices have drawn much attention in the literature. Comprehensive controllers for Dynamic Voltage Restores (DVR's) have already been proposed to tackle all those problems simultaneously, although several aspects need closer attention. This paper addresses several implementation issues for a discrete algorithm to control a three phase DVR. The controller is divided into a main one and an auxiliary one. The former is based on a state-feedback controller to achieve a fast transient response when voltage sags occur. The latter uses a repetitive controller to improve steady-state reference tracking and disturbance rejection in order to tackle harmonic and imbalance problems. This paper focuses on the repetitive-controller part. Firstly, a new method to improve the repetitive controller performance with small frequency deviations in the grid is presented. Secondly, the classical repetitive controller is modified so that the response to non-periodic disturbances is improved. Decision making process for selection of electrical energy technologies in landfills 堆填区选择电能技术的决策过程

In response to the escalating energy crisis and related pollution problems verified worldwide, it is essential to assume new energy technologies that use renewable energy sources in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. Accordingly, biomass offers world-wide one of the largest exploitation potential among renewable energy sources. This paper focuses on biogas production from municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills. This paper uses a decision making method taking fuzzy multi-rules and fuzzy multi-sets as basis to evaluate the main operational characteristics of renewable energy systems (RES). This study aims to find the most appropriate renewable energy technology to be used in a MSW landfill. Several parameters will be used for the investigation: costs, efficiency, cogeneration, lifecycle, technical maturity and environmental impacts. Subsequently, the methodology will consider three scenarios with costs and environment constrains. Considerations and results described in this paper are part of the Research & Development Program undertaken by Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and State Company of Energy Generation and Transmission (CEEE-GT).

Indirect effects of lightning on wind turbines using EMTP-RV 利用EMTP-RV研究闪电对风力涡轮机的间接影响

This paper is concerned with the protection of wind turbines against the indirect effects of lightning. Lightning damages involving wind turbines have come to be regarded with increasing concern. The wind power generation is rapidly growing in Portugal, but still there are few studies regarding the lightning protection of wind turbines using models of the Electro-Magnetic Transients Program (EMTP). Hence, a case study is presented in this paper, based on a wind turbine with an interconnecting transformer, considering that lightning strikes the soil near the tower. Computer simulations are provided by using the recently restructured version of EMTP, EMTP-RV, highlighting the need for adequate protection measures.
