The study explores Twitter diplomacy as a tool for managing media crises in the mainstream American and British media, with a particular focus on four significant political topics concerning the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. These include the Qatar diplomatic crisis, the Yemeni war, Iran, and the Muslim Brotherhood. The study evaluates the impact of Twitter diplomacy on media coverage of these issues. It covers three new research areas: Arabian Gulf Twitter diplomacy, the influence of Twitter diplomacy on American and British mainstream media, and examine the utilization of traditional and social media in both Western and Arabian Gulf contexts. The findings of the study suggest that Twitter diplomacy alone cannot address Western media crises. The study employed a qualitative descriptive methodology that utilized a combination of data collection techniques and qualitative analysis methods, including critical discourse analysis and elite interviews.

The China-Taiwan crisis is witnessing a paradigm shift amid rising uncertainty due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Every act, smaller or larger in western capitals against Russia in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, is enlightening the Chinese policymakers, strategists, and leadership calculations over their futuristic war choices and possible invasion of Taiwan. There is a high chance of China invading Taiwan. What will be the future of Taiwan, the center for new American security has war gamed the situation and has revealed a possible conflict between China and Taiwan, dragging America to the center of the conflict. The game strategy has been used as a conceptual framework, to shed light on what planning, policymaking, and strategies will be required to deal with the hypothetical scenario. How will China react in the future, if Taiwan tries to become even closer to the western world, particularly America? The military blunders of the Russian army on the battlefield, the western united front against Russia on economic sanctions, the powerful strategy of information warfare in the digital world by the Zelensky government, and the response of the international community to Moscow’s invasion have sent shockwaves across China’s policy-making circles, but so far it hasn’t deterred the leadership morale in shaping its narrative of reunification. This study helps to analyze, the war gaming perspective of the China-Taiwan possible conflict, apart from war gaming scenarios, it also analyzes the actual situation, on how China would deal with the situation on economic, information, and diplomatic fronts. It also helps us to understand, why the conflict will be of tremendous importance, especially to America’s pacific and western allies.

Phenomena like globalization and interdependence shape the contemporary world. The outbreak of Russia-Ukraine crisis instigated a wave of alarm amongst the global leaders due to a high risk of the war’s potential consequences on the entire world. As the crisis intensified, it started taking economic, political and energy domains under its spur. On one hand, west imposed sanctions on Russian economic and energy firms, i.e., Gazprom. Being an energy giant, Russia utilized its energy resources as a tool to respond to the western sanctions. Nord Stream I and Nord Stream II pipelines were shut down. Hence, triggering an energy crisis in states like UK, Germany, France etc. Coupled with harsh winter, hike in energy bills and food prices etc. has had both social and economic ramifications. To curb this energy security dilemma, European states have undertaken several steps including signing deals with countries like Norway, Azerbaijan and Qatar. Energy transition is yet another option at the table for EU member states to consider to deal with this crisis. This research paper will discuss the significance of Russian energy resources, the European energy crisis that has been instigated as a result of Russia-Ukraine conflict, the implications of this crisis, attempts of European countries to deal with it. This paper will also highlight the phenomena of energy transition and whether it can serve as a sustainable and self-reliant substitute for Russian energy resources or not.

Even though the modern world has made great strides, women still struggle to obtain and exercise their most fundamental rights specially in developing nations like Pakistan. The gender gap has grown due to patriarchal and misogynistic culture as well as a lack of women’s empowerment. Pakistan consistently scores low on international gender equality rankings despite having a constitution that provides equal social, economic, and political rights directly effecting GDP growth. In light of the current condition of state, inclusivity is a principle that is urgently needed. This paper will critically analyze the root causes of gender inequality in Pakistan, factors due to which gender equality has remained elusive. It will also explore that why gender equality in crucial for Pakistan not just as an agenda but for survival and economic prosperity and how the inclusion of women in the field of diplomacy, foreign policy, economics, decision-making can help in country’s growth.

The Pacific Island nations are severely impacted by climate change due to their comparatively miniscule geography, dense population concentration, and reliance on ecological systems for longevity. Pacific Islanders are compelled to leave their homes and migrate due to dwindling resources for their subsistence, freshwater, and nutrition, which leads to climate-persuaded migration. Such migration is likely to obliterate the indigenous perspectives and sense of national identity. Considering it, there is a good chance that the international reaction to global changing climate will result in a reduction in migration. The international accords are falling short of attaining their climate change objectives through the use of qualitative evaluation of secondary data gathered primarily from online sites, as well as scholarly articles. As a result, minimizing the effects of climate change is of prime significance & this global risk necessitates worldwide dedication to identify & address the terrible ramifications in order to lessen the increase in migration. The research comprehends migration & climate change’s linkage. The recent growing tendencies in migration would be illustrated by the study of Kiribati. The case study would also demonstrate how important it is to put existing international conventions into practice in order to protect Pacific Island communities and their right of statehood.

South Asian security architecture has always faced instability because of the hegemonic ambitions of India and the ever-present rivalry between India and Pakistan. Add Afghanistan’s instability into the mix and the region has become a veritable volcano that can erupt at any time, impacting the entire world. More recently, driven by its ambitious agenda, the Indian military has unveiled a military doctrine by the name of “Land Warfare Doctrine 2018” which is based on a proactive and pre-emptive approach toward any conflict. The doctrine has declared Pakistan to be the primary focus and China to be the secondary focus. It encompasses the geo-strategic environment, future security challenges, environmental realities, and hybrid warfare. With a greater emphasis on the rearrangement of the strike formations into the IBGs or the Integrated Battle Groups, the LWD aims to equip the offensive components for shallow incursions in rapid combat situations. Such an agenda has the potential to thrust the South Asian region into a never-ending arms race, security dilemma, and stability-instability paradox.

Afghanistan has a unique geopolitical situation, which makes it important not only for Pakistan but also for many global and regional powers. Though both neighboring countries have many common interests yet their Foreign Policy relations have been dwindling over time due to historically ingrained contemporary issues. It has a profound impact on Pakistan’s security and economic interests, such as the issue of smuggling and bilateral trade, as well as strategic issues, such as the Durand Line issue and elusive “strategic depth.” The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in December 1979 was a major cause of global concern and a turning point in international politics. Soviet expansionism and the subsequent war on terror after 9/11 posed a challenge to Pakistan’s security, and the country emerged as a “frontline state.” The paper highlights what possible benefits Pakistan can accrue through viable Foreign Policy. The situation in Afghanistan has serious consequences for Pakistan’s internal and external security due to the involvement of many external actors, especially India.

South Asian politics is currently marked by ever-enhancing power politics between India and Pakistan, which is exacerbated by the extra-regional predilections, particularly US and China, to the respective states. Against this backdrop, this research analyzes the security and nuclear dimensions of India-Pakistan power politics. Additionally, it holistically highlights various dynamics of Indo-US strategic partnership and Sino-Pakistan strategic convergence. The theoretical framework used is the concept of power politics to underlie the engagement of regional and extra-regional powers in pursuit of their realist goals in South Asia, while the type of research is exploratory. In the end, it is concluded that the extra-regional influences have been fanning the Pakistan-India contestation, causing instability in the region.

The Palestinian question is long-lasting. While Israel’s constant violations of international law exacerbate the Palestinians’ emergency call, public opinion has remained strong. This paper aims to assess the impact of civil society on the conflict-resolution. Existing research on the subject has usually focused on the reasons for the conflict or the importance of international initiatives. This report is based on an interpretative methodology that compares quantitative evidence on public opinion in Palestine and Israel, as well as qualitative information on observations, perceptions, and viewpoints in conflict resolution. The author argues that Palestinian public opinion can be both support or an obstacle in the conflict. This study allows obtaining information for a more balanced and, ultimately, more relevant approach to assessing public opinion and responding accordingly.
