A clock-less two-phase DC-DC converter with soft-switching with voltage-mode resonant switch is presented in this paper. The two-phase DC-DC converter is well known to obtain large load current, and it can reduce output voltage ripple although it is difficult for a clock-less converter to achieve two-phase control. As a core index for a two-phase converter, the importance about the current balance is stated and various simulations around the current balance are carried out. It is confirmed that the proposed two-phase DC-DC converter has good performance in current balance for large load current transient. Furthermore, it shows that the two-phase current balance shifts no more than 1% when the phase displacement between the two-phase current shifts.

The auscultatory sounds are mixed heart sound, lung sound and other noises. If an auscultatory sound can be separated to a heart sound and a lung sound, it is possible that it may be useful for automatic diagnosis disease of the heart and lungs. However, a conventional method using the blind signal separation based on an ICA has lower separation precision. In the conventional method, a nonlinear function based on the separated signals is used in the separation algorithm. It is supposed to be an appropriate function in terms of separation precision corresponding to the probability distribution of source signals. However, because the conventional method has not been given an appropriate nonlinear function, it is a cause of lower separation precision. In this paper, we estimate a probability distribution of the source signals from the high order statistics of the separated signals and propose a better method which uses an appropriate nonlinear function in term of separation precision. Moreover, we evaluate a proposed algorithm to improve separation precision.

Focused on the requirement of Gigabit level throughput of 5G networks, two typical backhaul solutions in ultra-dense networks architectures are investigated. Moreover, an efficient protocol scheme was designed for device-to-device communication in ultra-dense networks on the basis of the two backhaul network architectures. The different devices can implement communication directly through multi-hop relay without macro base stations forwarding. Additionally, according to the characteristics of millimeter-wave coverage in ultra-dense networks, the paper presents the millimeter-wave dynamic bandwidth improvement mechanism of multi-user communication. Simulation results show that the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and correctness of the protocol analysis compared with the traditional mechanism, which can be seen that the proposed scheme improve the bit error rate (BER) performance effectively.

The imaging characteristics of the ultrasound image, the segmentation research progress slowly. In this paper, a new segmentation algorithm based on PCNN to the ultrasonic image was provided. Aim at the problem which is hard to determine the parameters for the PCNN in the past segmentation algorithm, so the new image segmentation method was proposed that banded automatic optimization ability of PSO and used the improved maximum entropy function as the fitness function. Through the simulation experiments show that, the segmentation result diagram of this article represents a good robustness. When it is used in the segmentation of the primary liver cancer ultrasound ima ge, it can clearly separate the entity giant lesion area of the liver membrane area. It provides a reliable basis of the diagnosed type of the patient for the doctor and improves the diagnosis accuracy of the doctor.

Fusion of multiple biometrie characteristics for identity verification has shown obvious merits in contrast to conventional systems based on unimodal biometric features. In this research, a new multimodal verification method is investigated by integrating face and visual speech information simultaneously. Different from face verification, the proposed scheme takes advantage of lip movement features in visual speech, which can significantly decrease the risk of being cheated by a fake face image. To accomplish the work, a Linearity Preserving Projection (LPP) transform and a Projection Local Spatiotemporal Descriptor (PLSD) are applied in the feature extraction for face and visual speech respectively. In order to combine the multisource biometric features, an Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) based fusion strategy is performed on the matching score level to generate a fused score for the final verification. Experiments conducted on the OuluVS database have shown that our proposed method can achieve very satisfying results.

The ambiguity function (AF) plays a key role in radar systems to measure their detection ability. Cognitive radars provide feedback information of interference, and therefore create the possibility of reshaping AF of radars ideally. In this paper, an AF shaping method for a cognitive multicarrier phase coded (MCPC) radar, which adjusts the transmitted MCPC signal according to predicted information, is presented. The optimality criterion is maximizing the signal to interference and noise ratio under an energy constraint, which is an NP-hard problem due to its complex quartic and nonconvex constraint. The model is firstly simplified according to the signal characteristics by a process of deduction. Then, the objective function is optimized through a majorization minimization algorithm. Finally, numerical results show a level reduction of the undesired range-Doppler bins and autocorrelation sidelobes. The designed signal improves the radar's probing and adapting to the environment.

The ever increasing volume of video content demands to develop efficient and effective video summarization (VS) techniques to manage the video data. Recent developments on sparse representation have demonstrated prospective results for VS. In this paper, in consideration of visual similarity of adjacent frames, we formulate the video summarization problem with a temporal collaborative representation (TCR) model, in which the adjacent frames instead of an individual frame are taken into consideration to avoid selecting transitional frames. In addition, a greedy iterative algorithm is designed for model optimization. Experimental results on a benchmark dataset with various types of videos demonstrate that the proposed algorithms can not only outperform the state of the art, but also reduce the probability of selecting transitional frames.

Nowadays, with the advanced technological development and the higher attention on health issue, many wearable devices are designed to value health care. When you wear the devices which combine with medical equipment, you do not need to go to hospitals to take physical examination in particular if you just want to check your physical conditions initially. Instead, you can take the physical examination as long as you wear devices with medical equipment. Heart is the most important organ in the human body. Life ends when heart stops beating. Thus, nowadays, the wearable devices is often build in heartbeat measurement. This study, through analyzing ECG, aims to figure out the relation between ECG and respiration. With ECG-Derived Respiration (EDR) signals, we calculated times of breathing and compared them with breathing signal from self-made breathing flow meter AT01. It is proved that the accuracy rate is up to 90% when the ECG signals are received well.

To lower the traffic accidents in highway systems, it is important to assure the highway be used only by vehicles. If someone accidentally enters the highway without noticing the potential danger, some traffic management system may give out an alarm to the pedestrian or to the nearby vehicles. That can be achieved by modern technology. That is, if the monitoring system or car camera can capture the pedestrian information and immediate give an alarm, obviously it can effectively reduce the incidence of accidents. For this purpose, in this paper, we propose a pedestrian detection algorithm with optimized detection method of region-convolution neural network. It is demonstrated by experiments that the proposed method is able to reach the state-of-the-art methods level. Finally, we implement this algorithm to a real-time monitoring system that could realize pedestrian saliency detection and alarm immediately on the entrance, exits and other important places ofhighway.

Due to the development of industrial technology, miniaturization and high efficiency of the switching power supply which is the mainstream in the power supply circuit are realized. On the other hand, countermeasures against electromagnetic interference (EMI) generated by switching are the subjects. It is known that output ripple and load response deteriorate by reducing EMI, but the relationship has not been studied. Also, as a method of EMI reduction, M series circuits have been used in the past, but this method had the disadvantage that the attenuation amount at the spectrum level and the diffusion width are hard to understand quantitatively. In this paper, we propose clock frequency sweep method as EMI reduction method and clarify the correlation between EMI reduction amount and various characteristics in constant on time (COT) ripple control DC-DC converter by simulation and implementation.
