Miniaturization and broadbanding techniques for Folded Meander Line Microstrip Antennas 折叠式弯曲线微带天线的小型化与宽带化技术

In this paper a Folded Meander Line Antenna (FMLA) had been designed to operate in WLAN b/g band. Fabricated on a FR-4 board for single layer prototype and RO3010 for two layers prototype. The design of this antenna is utilized through the usage of Folded Meander Line. ‘Via’ will be used to increase the bandwidth for this antenna and at the same time implementing proximity coupled method. Thus, this project will show on the use of ‘via’ and proximity coupled as a widening technique by implementation within CST software. These techniques are used as a mean that can be applied in this antenna design and also can give an effect on the antenna characteristics. It can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the antenna in its function.

Several 2D and 3D magnetic-based EZ efficient electrically-small antennas will be discussed. Measurement results for both the 2D and 3D cases will be presented. Very good agreement between the simulation and measured results will be reported.

Extraction of the effective propagation and attenuation constants in a cut-wire array 断线阵列中有效传播常数和衰减常数的提取

We study the effective propagation and attenuation constants for wave propagation in a cut-wire array of finite metal wires. The effective propagation constant is obtained from the phase of the transmission data collected inside the array. The effective attenuation constant is then calculated by using the Kramers-Kronig relationship. The reconstructed transmission loss from the resulting attenuation constant shows good qualitative agreement with the raw transmission data.

Reducing electromagnetic coupling for bistatic subsurface radar using EBG structures 利用EBG结构降低双基地地下雷达的电磁耦合

Bistatic radar is system which comprises a transmitter antenna and receiver antenna which are separated by a distance that is comparable to the expected target distance. In recent years, the bistatic subsurface radar is applied to detect relatively shallow structure such as tumor detection, steel reinforced detection in concrete and etc… On the other hand, the electromagnetic coupling between transmitter antenna and receiver antenna is problem, because, the bistatic radar detects a reflection wave from the target by the receiver antenna, therefore artifact caused by the coupling. To reduce this coupling a cavity is used, however, the cavity is not enough to reduce the electromagnetic coupling between transmitter antenna and receiver antenna. On the other hand, the EBG structure is used as electromagnetic insulator. In this research, in order to reduce the electromagnetic coupling the EBG structure is applied.

Antenna applications of negative refraction parabolic lens of subwavelength hole arrays 亚波长孔阵列负折射抛物透镜的天线应用

A planoconcave parabolic lens exhibiting a negative index has been fabricated by using stacked subwavelength hole arrays as a route to build a metamaterial operating at millimeter wavelengths. The design consists of a staircase approximation of the ideal parabola profile by removing step by step one lattice in each dimension of the transversal section. Theory predicts power concentration at the focal point of the parabola when the refractive index equals −1. The possibility to employ these structures in antennas remains open.

Subwavelength resonant cavities fed by microstrip patch array 微带贴片阵列馈电亚波长谐振腔

The analysis and design of subwavelength metamaterial-based resonant cavity antennas are presented. The antennas under investigation are formed by embedding a feeding source in a cavity composed of a Perfect Electrical Conductor (PEC) surface and a metasurface reflector. The feeding source used in this study is a 2 × 2 microstrip patch array. The effect of the cavity thickness is investigated and its influence on the radiation patterns is reported. Finally, the design of highly directive cavity antennas is presented.

Design and analysis of rectangular microstrip patches embedded in electromagnetically anisotropic composite laminates 电磁各向异性复合材料层板中嵌入矩形微带贴片的设计与分析

This paper proposes an innovative antenna module where the microstrip antennas are embedded in composite laminates. The electromagnetic fields of the anisotropic medium by using Hertzian potentials will be derived to form the bases to develop the electromagnetic model of anisotropic composite laminates and the dimensions of radiators at desired operating frequency are solved by the spectral domain immittance functions with Parseval's theorem and Galerkin's method. Analyses show that ply angle, anisotropy ratio and stacking sequence are critical to performance and the composite laminates embedded with microstrip antennas will be a good candidate in aerospace communication applications.

Novel microwave devices using tunable negative index metamaterials and ferrites 利用可调谐负折射率超材料和铁氧体的新型微波器件

Next generation microwave devices require to be multifunctional for efficient, cost effective operation in light weight, low volume structures. A miniature tunable negative index metamaterial phase shifter and an ultra wideband phased array antenna have been designed using ferrite materials. Negative permeability ferrite material in combination with negative permittivity of plasmonic wires produces a tunable negative refractive index metamaterial (TNIM). The TNIM shows a phase shift with a figure of merit of nearly 180° / kOe o of applied magnetic field. Investigation of loss in X- and Q-band TNIM reveals that high frequency loss is more due to ferrite quality rather that the design of the TNIM. The miniature, 10:1 bandwidth current sheet phased array antenna is designed using magnetic ferrite as absorber.

Composite Right-Left Handed Metamaterial ultra-wideband antenna 复合左右旋超材料超宽带天线

In this paper, two novel ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna designs based on Composite Right-Left Handed (CRLH) Metamaterial (MTM) structures are elaborated. With CRLH MTM technology embedded, the proposed UWB antenna designs present best in class radiation bandwidth, efficiency, radiation pattern and polarization. All great figures of merits have been achieved based on ultra compact sized PCB antenna structures with convenient integration solution.

A further study of planar inverted-F antenna 平面反f天线的进一步研究

This paper represents a simulated and experimental study of the planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA). It involves the changes in different parameters to observe their effects on the antenna characteristics such as the resonant frequency, impedance bandwidth and radiation pattern. It is found that the characteristics are affected by a number of parameters which include dimensions of ground plane, length, width and height of top plate, widths of shorting and feeding plates. The characterictics are also affected by the horizontal distance between shorting and feeding plates, the position of feeding plate under the top plate, the distance of shorting plate from one edge of top plate and the distance of PIFA structure from horizontal and vertical edges of ground plane. Taking these variables into account, a new empirical formula is proposed. These results will be very helpful in designing PIFA.
