Antenna matching in ε-near-zero metamaterial channels ε-近零超材料通道的天线匹配

Here we explore the matching properties of coaxial cables in ultranarrow channels filled with zero permittivity metamaterials. We discuss how the anomalous properties of such channels may allow a simple matching design, valid for arbitrary waveguides, with large degrees of freedom in terms of geometry, length and possible bending of the connecting channel. Moreover, the static-like properties of the channel may allow complete matching, independent of the relative position of the antenna inside the channel. We propose a simple verification of these concepts in rectangular channels operating at cut-off, which realize a simple and powerful mechanism for achieving effective permittivity near zero in this geometry. Our findings may constitute an elegant and powerful method for matching coaxial antennas to waveguides of arbitrary shape and geometry.

Differential time-domain single-antenna method for ultra-wide band antenna measurements 超宽带天线测量的差分时域单天线方法

Antenna radiation can be experimentally investigated by using the single-antenna method that consists of a virtual transmission between the antenna under test and its image in a conducting reflector. This paper presents a time-domain approach of the single-antenna method for the characterization of ultra-wide band (UWB) antennas. A differential technique was considered in order to discriminate the reflected signal due to the antenna input mismatch, and the signal received by reflection on the conducting plate, respectively. Experimental and computed results are presented for two types of UWB antennas.

A step-by-step approach to build a very low cost automated measurement setup for MIMO systems is presented in this paper. The price of the system can be lowered to $500 by reusing specific hardware elements. The performance of the setup is also evaluated with results obtained from an indoor environment measurement campaign conducted at UCI Radiofrequency laboratory.

Reconfigurable hendeca-band antenna for wireless communication 用于无线通信的可重构亨十频天线

A reconfigurable hendaca-band monopole antenna designed for operating on GSM (880–960MHz), GPS (1575MHz), DCS/PCS/UMTS (1710–2170MHz), TD-SCDMA/Bluetooth/WiMAX2.6 (2.3GHz–2.7GHz),WiMAX3.5 (3.4–3.6GHz) and WLAN/WiMAX5.8 (4.9–5.9GHz) services is proposed in this paper. The antenna is composed of an elaborate designed multiband monopole antenna and a pin-diode switch. The measurement results of the prototype antenna show that it has sufficient bandwidth to serve aforementioned multiple communication standards.

Technologically efficient light weight patch antennas with artificial dielectric substrates comprising periodic metal ribs or pins structures have been considered. Antenna Q-factor and substrate dispersion estimates are provided and molded and stamped substrate structures are synthesized. Antenna implementation examples for full wave high-precision user satellite positioning equipment applications are shown.

A microstrip-fed circularly-polarized loop-like antenna 微带馈电圆极化环形天线

A microstrip-fed loop-like antenna designs with circular polarization (CP) is presented in this paper. The proposed loop-like antenna comprised of a monopole antenna, a sleeve strip connected with the ground plane and an L-shaped slit embedded in the ground plane. The C-like monopole generates a resonant mode for wideband impedance-bandwidth at the GPS and DCS bands, and the sleeve and the slit are capable of exciting two orthogonal electric fields with equal amplitude and phase difference of 90 degree for radiating circular polarization at 1.575 GHz. Both simulated and measured results are provided to validate the CP performance of the proposed antenna.

Stacked-patch antenna with switchable propagating mode for UHF body-centric communications 具有可切换传播模式的堆叠贴片天线,用于UHF体中心通信

The ability to electronically switch between off-body and on-body communications is a useful feature for wearable antenna applications. Therefore, we present a novel stacked-patch antenna with a switched propagation mode for body-centric communications at 2.45 GHz. Mounted 2 mm above a muscle-tissue phantom and in the on-body mode, the proposed single-port antenna had an efficiency of 62% and an impedance bandwidth of 70 MHz. The antenna performance increased in the off-body mode with an efficiency of 80% and an impedance bandwidth of 247 MHz. In terms of on-body coupling in anechoic conditions, peak |S21| path gains of −39.6 dB and −48.0 dB were obtained for the on-body and off-body configurations, respectively. These results clearly demonstrate the mode isolation obtained.

The present work is on the design of a microstrip phase array antenna with the required feed elements for the phased array radar that is used to detect the blind spot area of an intelligent mobile vehicle. The current ratio and side lobe level of the array is calculated using Tchebyscheff distribution.

In this paper, we apply a radially-dependent dispersive FDTD to analyze microwave absorbers based on metamaterials and transformation electromagnetics. The results indicate that the proposed structure has superior wave absorption over a moderate bandwidth.

In this paper we present a novel approach to create a dual frequency band of a new sectoral antenna design combining two-layered Metallic Electromagnetic Band Gap (M-EBG) materials as a superstrate, thus making it possible to circumvent the narrow bandwidth problem. This antenna operates according to a sectoral radiation pattern form presenting a half power beamwidth of at least 60°. The geometry and working of the antenna are detailed and a design method is proposed.

This antenna operates according to a sectoral radiation pattern form presenting a half power beamwidth of at least 60°.
