Feeding behavior is the way fish find, select, and consume food. Understanding fish eating behavior is important to knowing the fulfillment of nutrition and optimal growth in fish. The purpose of writing this article is to determine the factors that influence eating behavior and to compare eating habits between different fish species. The writing method used is literature study, with stages of journal search, journal selection, journal analysis, and journal synthesis. Based on the review results of several relevant journals, it is known that the types of fish feed are divided into 3 categories: euryphagic (eats various types of food), stenophagic (eats types of food that are limited to the ecosystem), and monophagic (eats one specific type of food), while based on the food group they are grouped into the three categories are herbivores (eating plants and algae), carnivores (eating meat), and omnivores (eating everything). Factors that influence eating behavior include food availability, environmental conditions, the type of food, and the size of the fish.

Aluminium foil is a thin material made of aluminum metal used for packaging. Aluminium foil has good properties for packaging food products, including hermetic, flexible, opaque, impervious to moisture and water, non-flammable, and does not absorb other materials or substances. Widely, aluminium foil is used as a coating, especially for packaging food which must be protected from gas, moisture, odors, and light so that it can better maintain the durability of the packaged product. Fishery products need to be packaged to extend shelf life and maintain product quality. Several studies have shown that the use of aluminium foil packaging can extend the shelf life compared to other packaging.

Indian mackerel (Rastellinger kanagurta) is one of the fish that can be caught by fishermen in North Gorontalo waters. Excessive fishing without regard to the condition of the fish will cause a decrease in the quality and quantity of fish resources. Estimation of size at first maturity is one way to determine population development in water. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of gonad maturity and the fecundity of Indian mackerel in North Gorontalo waters. This research was conducted in October-December 2021 at the Kwandang Archipelago Fishing Port. The level of maturity of the gonads was observed morphologically and the determination of fecundity was observed using volumetric and gravimetric methods. The maturity level of Indian Mackerel fish in North Gorontalo waters is dominated at level 1. The highest fecundity is 14,800 eggs and the lowest is 5,000 eggs. The relationship between the level of gonad maturity and fecundity is directly proportional, if the gonadal maturity value is high, the fecundity value will also be higher. The spawning season for Indian mackerel in North Gorontalo waters does not take place in October-December, this is characterized by low fecundity. Based on the gonadal maturity values every month, the peak spawning of Indian mackerel (Rastellinger kanagurta) allegedly occurred shortly after the highest GSI values.

The Ciparanje inland aquaculture area has emerged as a hub for breeding ornamental fish, with koi fish being a prominent species. The increasing demand for koi fish has led to a surge in koi aquaculture businesses. What sets koi fish apart from some other fish species is their ability to breed throughout the year, unaffected by specific seasons. However, in their natural habitat, koi fish typically spawn at the onset of the rainy season, triggered by the enticing aroma of the soil. The growth of koi fish is influenced by various factors, including fish species, genetic characteristics, feeding efficiency, disease resistance, and environmental conditions such as water and feed quality, as well as stocking density. To ensure the production of top-quality koi fish fry, it is crucial to employ the appropriate spawning techniques. In this study, a participative approach was employed to investigate and report on the natural spawning procedures of koi fish in the Ciparanje inland aquaculture area, managed by Padjadjaran University. The natural spawning method implemented in this area encompasses several crucial processes, including the preparation of spawning ponds, selection of breeding stock, egg hatching, and larvae rearing. A total of 90,175 eggs were collected from the examined koi broodstock during the spawning activities, and an impressive 80% of these eggs successfully hatched. The calculated Hatching Rate (HR) reached 96.5%, indicating a high level of achievement in the hatching of koi fish larvae.

This article aims to analyzed the effectiveness of the Red Water System Technique on the survival and growth of cultivated catfish from the conclusions of several previous researchers. The method used in this literature study is to review several research articles on the success of catfish farming using the red water system technique. We collected and identified 50 academic articles, trusted databases, proceedings, books, dissertations, government regulations, and other international journals that were potentially relevant to the specified keywords. Upon review, the relevant literature was aggregated to 32. The collected review data is then compiled into a manuscript. The result is that probiotics in the red water system technique can maintain water quality according to quality standards by utilizing nutrient levels in waters as a food source for bacteria L.casei and catfish have high growth rates due to the addition of probiotics to the waters, which makes them resistant to disease. In conclusion, the Red Water System technique has improved growth performance, survival rate, digestibility, immunity, and disease resistance in African catfish compared to African catfish culture using conventional methods which can benefit the farmers.

A study to investigate the reproductive biology of Aspidoparia jaya was conducted in Bangladesh where a total of 80 fish samples were collected on monthly basis from Atrai River and Jamuna River during the period from January 2022 to December 2022. The highest values of the gonado-somatic index (GSI) was recorded in July (11.37±1.75%) and January (9.55±1.35%), whereas highest individual fecundity of 6990±1280 and 5755±1050 and ova diameter of 0.55±0.05 and 0.52±0.03 mm, respectively were also observed during these months. From the histological observation of the ovary, seven different stages of occytes were identified where highest percentage of mature oocytes was observed in July and January. Based on the GSI, fecundity, and gonadal histology, two breeding season of A. jaya was observed from May to August and from December to late January with a remarkable peak in July and January. In case of length weight relationship (LWR), the coefficient of determination value (r2) was found 0.95 and slope was found b= 2.02 which indicated the negative allometric growth pattern of this species as b<3. In contrast, an increase was recorded in the fecundity associated with the rise of total length, body weight, and gonad weight, showed a significant linear relationship. This study would assist in the development of induced breeding techniques and provide valuable information for the sustainable management of this population in the inland open ecosystem.

Aims: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of light on the catches of the Giant lift net. Place and Duration of Study: The research was conducted for six months, from March to August 2022. The research was carried out in the waters of Barru Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Methodology: Data collection was carried out using survey and interview methods as well as literature studies. Field data collection is carried out by participating in direct operations with fishermen. Primary data includes catch (main catch), data on the duration of the stages of catching (setting time, towing time, and hauling time). The data collected from the interviews are the catch (species, kg/trip, tail/trip) and the trip period. Sampling of the catch is done by taking the fish caught by the Giant lift net per trip. Furthermore, data regarding the description of the Giant lift net was carried out by means of interviews, observations and direct measurements of fishing gear. Secondary data (desk study) will be obtained from an inventory of official publications and fisheries statistical data from the local government. Results: The effectiveness of using the number of lamps and the wattage of the lamps is directly proportional to the catch, the more and brighter the LED lights are used, the more catches will be. The most optimal watt size used in the operation of the Giant lift net is 300-400 watts. The color of the light that is good for using the Giant lift net operation is white.
