ABSTRACT Anorexia is an eating disorder characterized by a morbid fear of gaining weight, excessive restriction of food and intense and exaggerated practice of physical exercise. There are two subtypes of anorexia: restrictive and purgative. Its prevalence is mainly in female adolescents aged 15 to 19 and entails multiple harmful physical, psychological, social, and emotional consequences. Anorexia is portrayed as a multifactorial disorder, requiring a biopsychosocial perspective and a multidisciplinary intervention to address all the affected areas of the individual. In this article, we approach the appliance of Narrative Therapy by White and Epston ((1989). Literate Means to Therapeutic Ends. Dulwich Centre Publications), which advocates that the psychotherapeutic treatment can be carried out together – psychologist, client and family – with the literature supporting it. Anorexia is an egosyntonic disorder associated with a high mortality rate. It should be noted that the cure for anorexia is not granted since there is an increased number of relapses and treatment dropouts. For this reason, an innovative approach like narrative therapy can be approached with promising results.

ABSTRACT Indonesian spices offer an avenue into a broad spectrum of knowledge covering history, geography, sciences, humanities, and medicine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, spices have been revisited for potentials to boost the immune system. However, this knowledge is often inaccessible to children, which leads to the risk of the nation losing local wisdoms related to its endemic plants. Therefore, this study aims to explore the writing of poetry on spices to educate elementary schools student about COVID-19 prevention. We reviewed literature and wisdom on Indonesian spices and proposed the formula of writing spice-themed poetry. Building on Sam Illingworth’s concept of poetry as a dialogue, we stipulated four guiding elements in writing spice-themed poetry for children, namely (1) facilitation-purpose, (2) science exposure, (3) communicative interaction, and (4) transformation based on Indonesian knowledge and culture. We argue that writing poetry on spices potentially strengthens children’s spice-related knowledge of natural sciences and Indonesian local wisdom.

ABSTRACT This paper illuminates a method of representation of research methodologies and philosophical positioning expressed through the use of poetics, allowing for a more playful space for critical reflection in qualitative research. Methodologies and ontological and epistemological positioning can take on many forms within the research process and can pose a conundrum for the novice researcher. During my exploration for a suitable methodology whilst I undertook a Professional Doctorate in Health and Wellbeing there emerged a selection of poems debating the merits, in addition to the limitations, of the potential options available; all dependent on the philosophical stance I chose to embrace. Within this process, I was encouraged to use this art-based method of poetic expression within the doctoral trajectory which continued throughout the journey to facilitate reflexivity.

ABSTRACT Bibliotherapy is used as a low-cost, non-pharmacological intervention in the treatment of many mental disorders. This study aimed to investigate the effect of cognitive bibliotherapy on personality traits of psychopathic disorder in delinquent adolescents. This research was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and posttest design and experimental and control groups. The study's statistical population consisted of all 160 male adolescents at the Tehran Correctional Center, and the samples consisted of 30 persons with psychopathic personalities. They were selected by purposive sampling. After the bibliotherapy and poetry therapy intervention, there was a significant difference in the overall score of psychopathic traits between the experimental and control groups favoring the experimental group (P = 0.001). The findings showed that bibliotherapy and poetry therapy intervention reduced personality traits of psychopathy in delinquent adolescents, thus it can be concluded that bibliotherapy effectively reduces and improves the traits that constitute a psychopathic disorder.

Virtual poetry, nursing and Google Meet

ABSTRACT Virtual Poetry and nursing have much to say about humanity during and after the global lockdown. Whereas nurses have worked on the front lines to treat infected patients both physically and mentally, poets have played a tremendous role in relieving students of negative energy, motivating them to pursue their dreams and hopes. Building on Thematic Analysis and the Reflective Learning Approach, this paper examines the relationship between virtual poetry and nursing education. One focus group from Agadir city had to study English at ISPITS institute for 14 h, using Google Meet and, at a later stage, they were entailed to evaluate their learning experiences with the Online English Class. The results unveiled that the Moroccan student nurses share a great concern for humanity and that virtual poetry could be used as an instructional medium in shaping their personality traits and reinvigorating their academic goals about the nursing practice.
