Since different types/levels of modulation have different spectral efficiency, gain of adaptive modulation has to be considered due to number of bits that are transmitted. We used model that has properties of white noise with probability of level occurrence according to normal Gaussian distribution. In order to perform more exact calculation of the gain of adaptive modulation further research has to be carried out (because of channel properties, properties of logic device that measures BER level and decides between certain modulation levels or types).

This paper presents a comparison of the field strength prediction in indoor environments based on ray tracing, multilayer perceptron and radial basis function networks. It has been already shown for neural networks as powerful tool in RF propagation prediction. It is very important to choose proper algorithm for training a neural network, so we compared several training algorithms for the case of multilayer perceptron model. As the case used a corridor of university building in Dubrovnik, for which calculation, simulation and measurement of signal strength were obtained. The results show an improvement in field strength prediction with neural models over conventional models if training algorithm and neural network architecture are carefully chosen. The best results are obtained by the radial basis function neural network model.

This paper discusses methods used in different objective video quality metrics. An experimental comparison of different objective methods is also conducted. This experiment shows the importance of video content for a subjective quality evaluation not comprised well by the objective metrics used.

In cross-media color reproduction, it is important to be able to predict the colors under different viewing conditions. The two commonly used media, CRT displays and printed images were included in psychophysical experiments using six complex images. The experiments were carried out in dark and average surround. We have compared corresponding colors obtained from experiments with corresponding colors predicted with the use of two color appearance models, CIECAM97s and CIECAM02.

A number of wireless IP video surveillance solutions is growing with every day, enabling solutions for installations where traditional systems -both analog and digital -are not feasible or practical. Emersion of broadband wireless technologies provided solution for those critical surveillance applications bridging the problems of inadequate network infrastructure. In this paper network aspects of megapixel IP surveillance over broadband wireless network infrastructure are discussed and WiMAX technology is revised as possible technology for such installations.

During the year 2006, Hrvatski sabor -Croatian Parliament, started an initiative for establishing standalone parliament television system in order to replace Croatian national television's SNG vehicle engagement and mobile technical team. Implementation of fixed integrated and automated video system is organized in three phases -broadcast core system, archiving system and distribution system integration. In this paper general functionality of integrated solution is described and detailed technical description of system integration parts, algorithms and methods presented.

Education and following processes, knowledge market and competition, are for long recognized on global level. Information communication technology fast growth and new generations great computer knowledge enables new teaching methods development. Until fifteen years ago focus was on computer who used primary CD and local networks as information media, and then it spread on Internet usage and numerous possibilities which enables distance learning (e-Learning), and in that context special accent is put today's on mobile learning (m-Learning) perspective and its usage possibilities.
