The most crucial part of the earth is water. Water is very much essential for survival of life on earth whether it is plant, animal or human being. Water distribution system takes care of distribution, generation of the quantity and quality of water in different parts of earth. One of the great hindrances for the water distribution system is leakage in the water pipelines. Lots of water gets wasted due to leaks. Localization of leaks through sensors is one of major issue of concern which has attracted the attention of the researchers. This paper deals with the various techniques of leakage detection used in past and recent years, their limitations, and the task about how to overcome those limitations.

Analysis of relationship between extracurricular activities and academic performance by computational intelligence 利用计算智能分析课外活动与学习成绩的关系

In the society that we live today, the requirements for a higher education graduate to step into the professional world have become quite complex. The basic knowledge can be achieved by following the curriculum, but the skills, practice and experience can only be gained through active participation in extra-curricular activities. Such activities assists the student in taking responsibility of their future and making right decisions. These activities make one stand out of the herd and be recognized as everyone is imparted the same level of knowledge relating to his/her particular field. The industry requires people who are adept at a variety of things and are not limited to a particular chore only. Data for this research was collected from an aptitude test and the academic curriculum of students in a particular semester. Computational intelligence was employed for determination and analysis of the relationship between the chosen parameters (aptitude, GPA etc.) and data collected from students participating in extra-curricular activities conducted in the same semester. We have observed that Computational Intelligence has provided a higher degree of accuracy in our recent research works. This paper proposes the effects of extra-curricular activities in the overall growth of a student.

Analysis of low power reduction in voltage level shifter 电压电平转换器低功耗降耗分析

The preserver for portable devices is satisfied by developing CMOS technology. Voltage level shifter is introduced here using adaptive voltage level technique progression of curtailing the power dissipation and power consumption. Power dissipation is the most important parameter here, the adaptive voltage level technique is apply in present work mitigate the power dissipation. We can reduce the value of total power dissipation by applying the AVLG (adaptive voltage level at ground) technology which is increase the ground potential and AVLS (adaptive voltage level supply) which is raise supply potential. The purpose of the design to investigate the static power and power dissipation for low voltage level shifter for proposed design style. This design is valuable in designing the system that consumes less power. The simulation and performance analysis of proposed circuit evaluate in cadence virtuoso tool. The AVL technique based voltage level shifter compared to conventional design that based on power consumption and power dissipation.

A comparative analysis of SPSO and BPSO for power loss minimization in distribution system using network reconfiguration 基于网络重构的配电网网损最小的粒子群算法与粒子群算法的比较分析

This paper presents an effective methodology, to solve the Distribution Network Reconfiguration (DNR) problem using Selective Particle Swarm Optimization (SPSO) algorithm which aims at finding the best radial operating configuration that minimizes the power losses of the system while satisfying the imposed operating constraints. The algorithm is a simple modification of Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) where the search space is selective. To demonstrate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed method a comparative analysis of SPSO with BPSO for network reconfiguration, under four different load levels, namely base, light, medium and heavy, on 33-bus and 69-bus radial distribution system is presented. Test results have shown that SPSO can effectively ensure loss minimization with better convergence characteristics and improved voltage profile as compared to BPSO.

Supplementary signal of SVC for damping torsional oscillation SVC阻尼扭振的补充信号

A method is proposed in this paper to select supplementary signals for a static var compensator in IEEE first benchmark model. Different input output controllability analyses are used to assess the most appropriate supplementary signals for the static var compensator (SVC) for achieving effective damping of torsional oscillations. After placing the SVCs based on their primary functions, the most appropriate input signal for supplementary controller is also selected. The eigenvalues and Hankel singular values of the system are computed incorporating various supplementary signals in the SVC for selecting the best supplementary signal.

Structural and electrical properties of modified CMOS device under radiation environment in designing of voltage control oscillator (VCO) 电压控制振荡器(VCO)设计中改进CMOS器件在辐射环境下的结构和电学性能

This paper shows the structural CMOS with and without radiation and variation of electrical properties of device under various radiations doses and proposes a modified CMOS circuit which mitigates radiation effect by improving switch point in I-V characteristic. In order to redesign the circuit for radiation resistance; the above radiation hardened inverter circuit is used to design the Voltage Controlled Oscillator using Radiation Hardened By Design (RDBD) technique. The circuit exhibits only minimal degradation with total dose when irradiated.

Training cellular automata for salt and pepper noise filtering 训练用于椒盐噪声滤波的元胞自动机

Cellular Automata is significantly applying to image processing operations. The description about the use of training of cellular automata for filtering the salt and pepper noise in binary images is exemplified in this paper. The selection of the best rule set from large search space has been performed on the basis of sequential floating forward search method. The peak signal to noise ratio values between original and filtered image is used as the objective function. The proposed method is also compared with some standard methods and found to perform better in respect to restoration of the image.

Forgery detection using statistical features 使用统计特征进行伪造检测

Digital images are present everywhere on magazine covers, in newspapers, in courtrooms as evidences, and all over the Internet signifying one of the major ways for communication nowadays. Easy availability of image editing tools has made it very simple to tamper the digital images thus putting the authenticity of these images under suspicion. There are a number of type of forgeries that can be carried out on digital images most common being the copy-move and splicing forgeries. This paper proposes a new method for image copy-move and splicing detection based on statistical features of the digital image. Copy-move involves copying of a region in an image and pasting it somewhere in the same image to hide any important detail and Splicing involves merging of two or more images to form a composite image that is significantly different from the original image. The proposed approach calculates grey level run length matrix (GLRLM) texture features for the forged images and original images. Support vector machine is used for classification. Results show that the proposed algorithm is very effective in detection of forgery.

Cells/modules under shade absorbs significant amount of electric power generated by cells/modules at higher illumination and convert it into heat across the shaded Cells/modules. Under partial shading conditions in the array there exist multiple peaks in power-voltage characteristics. In this paper we have used MATLAB/SIMULINK software, firstly modeling is done for PV module which is further modified to get PV array model. The array current-voltage and power-voltage characteristic is verified from experimentally available characteristics. Analysis has been done for modules connected in series and parallel under partial shading condition. Demerits of series connections under partial shading condition are inferred. The comparison has been made for series and parallel connected solar photovoltaic modules.
