Analysis and comparison of various methods available for load forecasting: An overview 负荷预测的各种方法的分析和比较:综述

Accurate load forecasting is essential for power system planning and operation. As the electricity end uses expand, load forecasting technique becomes more complicated. Depending on the nature of load variations, one particular method may not be suitable in each case. Before choosing a particular method, an overview of different techniques is required. This paper presents the analysis of various techniques for load forecasting. A comparative analysis is presented to understand the performance of each technique. None of them is found to be perfect alone; the trend is towards hybrid models.

Review of task scheduling algorithms using genetic approach 基于遗传方法的任务调度算法综述

The aim of scheduling problem in multiprocessors is to find the optimal or nearly optimal solution for the assignment of multiple tasks to multiple processors so as the minimum completion time can be achieved. The efficiency of any scheduling approach depends upon the problem formulation and the performance characteristics of the algorithm used for the purpose. The scheduling algorithm studied in this paper is Genetic Algorithm (GA) and various variants of genetic algorithm used for task scheduling proposed by various researchers over the period of time. The introduction and efficiency of various variants using the different performance parameters is compared.

Performance comparison of DFIG and SCIG based wind energy conversion systems 基于DFIG和SCIG的风能转换系统性能比较

Increasing penetration of wind energy in existing conventional energy systems necessitate better power quality and control. The power electronics is advancing very fast and this facilitates the rapid growth of variable speed wind energy conversion systems (WECS). However, the issue of power quality needs a thorough attention of the people involved in research work. This paper is focusing mainly on the performance comparison of WECSs using doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) and squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG) where both types of WECSs are using similar kind of the control strategies. The aim of this comparison study is to present various aspects of power quality, especially at the point where the WECS is connected to the grid, in a logical manner. This study also aims to find minimum and maximum wind speeds at which these generators can be operated and power generated by these generators at varying wind speed. Both the Energy conversion systems are using vector control technique. In order to harness maximum power at a particular wind speed, maximum power point tracking has been implemented in both the systems.

Transmission loss allocation using fairness index in deregulated market 解除管制市场中基于公平指数的输电损耗分配

Deregulated market provides opportunities to consumer and generator for transparent cost determination. Generator side revolution invites a lot of thoughts and ideas to make electricity market more competetitive. For sustainable market operation, each component issues should be taken care. Transmission line is vital part of deregulated market. Therefore, losses occurring in transmission line should be considered. Cross-term allocation of transmission losses has been done with various ways but none were satisfactory and acceptable to all. Transmission loss allocation to various loads connected from bus or node becomes complex owing to nature of quadratic expression. Quadratic expression of line loss makes it almost impossible to separate loss for various users. This paper presents a new method for transmission loss allocation with consideration of fairness factor. This new method allocates transmission losses in such a way that distribution of a single load in to further various loads does not change overall percentage loss allocation. Proposed method has been tested on IEEE-57 bus system to test result. The proposed method is simple and time efficient.

Scan-chain-based multiple error recovery in TMR systems (SMERTMR) 基于扫描链的TMR系统多重错误恢复(SMERTMR)

In this paper, we present a roll forward error recovery technique for triple modular redundancy (TMR) system based on scan-chains, called scan-chain-based multiple error recovery technique in triple modular redundancy systems (SMERTMR). This technique uses scan-chain flip-flops to detect and correct faulty modules in the presence of single or multiple transient faults. In this technique both, the errors in the output of the voter and the error due to latent faults at the input of modules are detected. The latent faults are detected by comparing the internal states of the TMR modules. Upon detection of any mismatch between the modules output, the SMERTMR system will find the faulty modules and it can correct the faulty module by copying the state of a fault-free module into the faulty modules. Upon detection of permanent fault, the system will degrade to a master/checker configuration. In this paper we are proposing SMERTMR in modify mode which is the combination of comparison and recovery mode of SMERTMR.

Effects of voltage sag on Doubly fed induction machine at hyper-synchronous motoring mode 双馈感应电机在超同步模式下电压凹陷的影响

Load-frequency match is mandatory requirement for interconnected power system stability. Any unscheduled change in load or intermittent power injection from Renewable Energy Sources (RES) leads to system instability by changing the frequency. Therefore, energy storage devices are essential as they can provide quick response for any change in system frequency. Pumped Storage Plants (PSP) serves the dual purpose, either by storing surplus power or by generating hydro power during peak requirements. The use of Doubly-Fed Induction Machine (DFIM) with power electronics in rotor circuit is significant in both motoring and generating modes in PSP. This paper investigates the effect of symmetrical voltage sag on the performance of DFIM at motoring mode. Various motor parameters, namely peaks in total power taken from grid, torque and current (stator and rotor current), and speed loss were investigated. With the aid of both simulation and experimental results, symmetrical voltage sag effects on a 2.2kW three-phase DFIM are analyzed. In steady-state operation of DFIM, the voltage sag produces motor instability which depends on sag depth and duration.

VLSI architecture and implementation of statistical multiplexer 统计多路复用器的VLSI结构与实现

In networking data rate varies from application to application and usually ratio of peak data rate is much higher than average data rate i.e. bursty data transfer. Hence, service provider/Network cannot use normal multiplexing as it requires huge bandwidth with very small utilization factor, so there is a requirement of statistical multiplexer, which is based on incoming data rate statistics and efficiently utilizes the available total bandwidth. There are many applications which use this technique like asynchronous transfer mode, UDP/TCP protocol, and digital TV transmission, digital broadcasting. Generally hardware implementation is faster than software implementation, so authors have proposed VLSI hardware architecture of statistical multiplexer and implemented on FPGA using Xilinx ISE. Various modules are simulated, synthesized and implemented on FPGA. Digital operating clock frequency is also estimated for individual sub-module and integrated main module.

Background modelling, detection and tracking of human in video surveillance system 视频监控系统中人的背景建模、检测与跟踪

Video Surveillance System is a powerful tool used for monitoring people and their activities for public security. The motive of having surveillance system is not only to put cameras in place of human eyes, but also making it capable for recognizing activities automatically. In this paper, human detection and tracking is performed on Weizmann dataset having various activities like run, bend, hand wave, skip, etc. First background modelling is done by taking mean of first n frames. After this, human detection is done using background subtraction algorithm and then tracking is done using Kalman filter. Result of each stage has been discussed. The proposed methodology shows promising results which can further be used for activity recognition.

The motive of having surveillance system is not only to put cameras in place of human eyes, but also making it capable for recognizing activities automatically. In this paper, human detection and tracking is performed on Weizmann dataset having various activities like run, bend, hand wave, skip, etc. First background modelling is done by taking mean of first n frames. After this, human detection is done using background subtraction algorithm and then tracking is done using Kalman filter. Result of each stage has been discussed. A Huffman based lossless compression algorithm for wireless sensor networks 一种基于霍夫曼的无线传感器网络无损压缩算法

Utilization of energy efficiently has been a main area of research in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). As sensors are battery operated, battery cannot be recharged frequently in the remote location where sensors are deployed. So energy optimization is of paramount importance to increase the battery life and hence the sensor network lifetime. Data compression can be an effective tool to reduce power consumption. In this paper, we have proposed a modified version of Huffman coding (MHC) algorithm for WSNs. We have taken data set of temperature variation from a sensing node. The compression ratio obtained is up to 64.325%, 60.51% and 63.08% for Le-Genepi deployment, Patrouille des Glaciers and St-Bernard deployment respectively.

Design and implementation of tree decoder for SDR applications SDR应用的树解码器设计与实现

The key objective of this project is to design a decoder which can be used for hardware purposes. Hardware, here accompanies with software which is more we can discuss as a Software Defined Radio application. The decoder implemented here offers to new radio equipment (SDR), the flexibility of a programmable system. Nowadays, the behavior of a communication system can be modified by simply changing its software. Large tree decoder can be constructed by reusing smaller similar sub-modules. Thus the structure is symmetric. The symmetric and regular structure of tree decoder makes the system easy to design. The structure obeys regularity and modularity concepts of VLSI circuit, thus is easy to fabricate using cell library elements. Design a Tree Decoder proposed architecture for SDR application on FPGA. The Structures made here are hardware synthesizable on FPGA board and are done in a respective manner. The design to be implementing by using Verilog-HDL language. The Simulation and Synthesis by using ISE Xilinx 13.4 tool.
