Coastal areas are the crucial interface between the two major elements that cover our planet. They provide ground for various ecosystems and biodiversity. In developing countries, many coastal communities live in close vicinity of these areas and rely on the resources of marine and coastal ecosystems to secure food and income. Ecosystems close to shore are however greatly under pressure from varying economic interests and development needs. A common approach to mangrove conservation, as with conservation of many ecosystems, involves establishing protected areas that reduce anthropogenic pressures.

This article is written to (1) study the development of module-based geographic environment in East Lombok (2) know the quality of the environment based on the geography module material lithosphere dynamics and their impact on life (3) knowing barriers in developing environment-based geography module in East Lombok. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. Quality geography module seen from the level of validity that includes feasibility aspects of content, presentation, graphics, language and environment-based. Validity of data obtained through the study of geography modules and expressed with values normalized gain score. The study found that the development of geography module developed by a team MGMPs eastern Lombok. The quality of the environment based on geography module seen from the aspect of the content of 79% feasibility, feasibility aspects of presentation of 69.6%, 85% and the feasibility language environment based 81.25%.

This research attempted to study about the development of tourism potential in East Lombok Regency (object: Surga Beach). It adopted a descriptive qualitative research design. The data was in the form of qualitative data and collected through interview. The result explained about the development of the potential and its inhibiting factors in East Lombok Regency. With surga Beach’s contribution to Locally-Generated Revenue (PAD) and better regional autonomy, East Lombok still had many problems in developing the tourism potential. The development is hoped to give a positive impact to tourism in Indonesia in general and tourism in Lombok in particular that government, local people and private parties should pay greater attention to it.
