Though emerging technology offers people a comfortable life, a few adverse effects also exist. There was a rapid increase in mobile phone usage and internet consumption during and post the Covid-19 pandemic, which reached the extent of addiction among youths. Thus, this study examines social media disorder among adolescents in relation to the time spent on a computer or smart-phone device screen and engaging in autosuggested social media content. The study included 235 responses from students in higher secondary schools of Bangalore, India. The study found a significant positive correlation between device screen time, autosuggested social media content engagement (ASMCE), and social media disorder. Multiple regression analysis indicated that 56.5% of social media disorder among adolescents is due to the time spent on a computer or smart phone device and autosuggested social media content engagement. The study did not measure any differences in social media disorder based on the demographic details of the study participants. As social media disorder affects the mental health of adolescents, especially in post pandemic times, and further affects their academic performance, the researchers suggest that future studies explore the other factors causing social media disorder.

Introduction and objective: The article aims to estimate the extent of alcohol use and some other mental health issues among Ukrainians who entered the Czech Republic after 24th February 2022. Previous studies focused on the use of alcohol and other substances among Ukrainians in the Czech Republic can’t be applied to the current situation as these studies mostly covered the male population and economic migration that differed considerably from the situation in 2022. Methods: A convenience non-representative online survey was conducted on a sample of 66 Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic. Most respondents came to the Czech Republic with their children. Standard questionnaires related to substance use (alcohol, tobacco) were used to determine the reasons for alcohol drinking and possible depression symptoms. Results: According to the results of the AUDIT tool, most respondents can be classified as low risk in terms of alcohol drinking. Some respondents referred to alcohol-related problems. Since the beginning of the war and since arriving in Czechia, there is a high positive correlation between the change in drinking frequency and the change in the amount of alcohol use during a typical drinking occasion. The results also showed a high level of depression symptoms and a high level of smoking. Conclusion: The results are in line with other (rare) research in the field. The importance of alcohol consumption research is stressed, while longer-term research is highly desirable.

Transmission of alcohol abuse behavior from parents to their children in the Czech population

Background: From the point of view of social learning and the socio-environmental perspective, alcohol abuse in parents appears to be an essential risk factor for later drinking problems in children. Such behavior is directly related to the initiation and continuation of substance abuse through genetic influences and passing on the patterns of behavior. The frequency of alcohol consumption depends on the behavior patterns, while the variables of the child’s age and gender also play their role. In particular, early initiation into drinking is considered riskier. Aim: To analyze the connection between the frequency and amount of alcohol consumption by children and the patterns of alcohol consumption among persons who are responsible for their upbringing. Research sample: In terms of age and sex, a representative child population ( n = 2948); males (1492; 50.61%) and females (1456; 49.39%) aged 6–17 years. Methods: An online research tool developed within the Social Survey Project platform. The statistical significance was tested using the χ 2 statistic for two-dimensional (C×R) contingency tables. Results: Alcohol consumption in the presence of children is related to the amount of alcohol consumed. Children of abstainers, who do not drink in front of their children, or who consume alcohol to a limited extent, are more likely to not consume alcohol at all. Large quantities of alcohol are consumed by children whose parents often drink in their presence. For children aged 15–17, alcohol consumption is not related to its availability at home if they consume it in small quantities. Conclusion: The prevention of negative social phenomena starts in the family, long before the child reaches the age when he or she begins to be threatened by these phenomena. As a non-specific prevention, we can, in particular, perceive the method of upbringing in the family, where mutual trust and safety are developed, and the child has a solid background and develops appropriate patterns of behavior.

Aim: The study deals with the linguistic validation and selected aspects (constructive validity and reliability) of the Insulin Delivery System Rating Questionnaire (IDSRQ). Methods: The examined file consisted of 151 patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. The linguistic and content validation IDSRQ was performed, and the results of the questionnaire and individual subscales were processed via descriptive statistics and factor analysis. Results: The data was used to calculate the reliability of seven original subscales (0.42–0.92). Construct validity was tested via exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Models M1, M2 and M3, were created. For models M2 and M3, the significance of the chi-square test ( p < 0.001) and FIT indices was calculated. The five-factor model with a reliability of 0.69–0.89 in subscales was identified as the best. Conclusion: The new version of the questionnaire is in line with the psychometric properties of the original tool, and the extraction of items into a five-factor solution reflects the current assessment of patients’ satisfaction with type 1 diabetes mellitus therapy in the Czech environment.

Conclusion: The new version of the questionnaire is in line with the psychometric properties of the original tool, and the extraction of items into a five-factor solution reflects the current assessment of patients’ satisfaction with type 1 diabetes mellitus therapy in the Czech environment.","PeriodicalId":17818,"journal":{"name":"Kontakt","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45545168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lidé se stále více stávají městskými druhy, a to především v důsledku vnitřních migračních procesů. Status vnitřního migranta vystavuje jednotlivce složité souhře mezi rizikovými a ochrannými faktory, což vede k rozdílným výsledkům v oblasti duševního zdraví.
