: The educational environment - educational institutions, mainly schools - is considered for many students - mainly in elementary school - a second home and / or a second family, due to the time they stay there, as well as due to the life experiences there. absorb. Based on this principle, parents and guardians maintain a close relationship with teachers and, consequently, through a good relationship between parents / guardians and teachers, students tend to be highly benefited in the teaching and learning process, including in the field. special education, a significant area in the educational space, originated by the association with varied and complex issues involving subjects who have special needs, regardless of the degree of such need. The general objective is to investigate the main characteristics of teacher education, with emphasis on issues associated with the adapted curriculum. Regarding the definition of specific objectives, the following was established: to verify conceptual aspects about teacher education in the educational environment of Brazil; investigate relevant issues about diversity in the educational context; analyze the advantages of the curriculum adapted for special education. The methodology adopted in this study was as follows: Narrative Bibliographic Review (Literature Review).
