: Background : labor pain was considered as the most intensive pain in our life and the use of analgesics still not common in our hospitals. A lot of pregnant women are frightened of this labor pain, and they are trying to search for anything to relieve the pain. The purpose of the study to assess the perception of antenatal women towards using analgesia during labor. Method : A descriptive design. A convenience sample of 500 pregnant women. Setting : The current study was conducted at obstetric department of three settings in Menoufia governorate. Result: the study reported that there was poor perception of pregnant women toward using analgesics during labor Conclusion : majority of the studied women have poor perception. Recommendation: increase perception &knowledge of pregnant women regarding analgesics used during labor. and make program for nurses to communicate with pregnant women to give them information about using analgesia during labor.

: Background: Covid-19 has multiple physical, psychological, social and environmental health problems regarding quality of life of nurses including those who are working at primary health care centers. The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of covid-19 pandemic disease on quality of life among nurses working at primary health care centers. Design: A descriptive cross sectional research design was utilized. Sample: A simple random sample of 300 nurses working at primary health care centers; included 166 nurses from urban health centers and 134 nurses from rural health units. Setting: The study was carried out in primary health care centers, two districts from ten districts of Menoufia governorate were selected by multistage random selection included; Birket El-Saba and Shebin El-kom districts, Menoufia Governorates, Egypt. Instruments: An interview questionnaire contained; Socio-demographic characteristics, nurses’ awareness about Corona virus infection and quality of life assessment scale by World Health Organization . Results: The current study revealed that, there were negative consequences of covid-19 on quality of life of nurses under the study in different physical, psychological, social and environment domains of quality of life. Finally, the majority of the studied nurses experienced low level of total quality of life (80%), while only 20% had high level of total quality of life. Conclusions : Covid-19 produces wide variety of problems and has negative consequences on quality of life of nurses working at primary health care centers. Recommendations: Ongoing professional development programs should be developed to enhance QoL of health care workers especially nurses working at primary health care centers in response to the pandemic and mitigating COVID-19-related stressors and psychological problems and facilitating social support.

: Background: Transformational leadership is an influential element in achieving the quality of nursing care. Transformational nursing leaders are a source of inspiration to nurses through their commitment for their healthcare organizations. Transformational nursing managers' insistence to a mission and willingness to take risks along with a strong desire to achieve and drives healthcare organizations to success. Purpose: To identify the level of nursing managers' transformational leadership skills. Methods: A descriptive research design was used. The study was conducted in Menoufia University Hospitals. A convenience sample of sixty two nursing managers constituted the study sample. Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) Form 6S was used to identify the transformational leadership skills among nursing managers. Results: Nursing managers in the hospital setting showed low level (27.7 ±3.1) of transformational leadership skills. The highest mean score was for individual consideration dimension whereas the lowest mean score was for Laissez‐faire leadership dimension Conclusion: In-service training program about transformational leadership skills for nursing managers is needed to improve Laissez‐faire leadership that increase their insistence to hospitals' mission and desire for success.

: Background: Meningitis is an inflammation and swelling of the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. It could be fatal or cause serious lasting side effects. It is imperative that pediatric nurses have the knowledge and training related to lumbar puncture to ensure a positive process for child. Purpose of the study was: to assess nurses' pitfalls of lumbar puncture procedure for children with meningitis. Design: A descriptive design was utilized. Setting, this study was conducted in Shebin El-Kom Fever Hospital in Menoufia Governorate in Egypt. Sample: A convenient sample of seventy nurses worked at the previously mentioned setting. All hospitalized children with meningitis were exposed to lumbar puncture procedure throughout the period of data collection were included in the study. Two tools were utilized for data collection, I-A Structured interviewing questionnaire and, II-An Observational checklist. Results: It revealed that there were highly statistically significant differences between nurses' pitfalls on pretest Conclusion, most of studied nurses have nursing pitfalls related to lumbar puncture. . Recommendation: pediatric nurses should update their knowledge and performance through continued nursing education, training, and frequently attending seminars and conferences based on their needs assessment.

: Normally, nipples are kept supple from the secretions of the Montgomery tubercles in the areola. They can become sore when they are excessively dry or wet, which makes them crack or fissure. The purpose ofthis study was to investigate the effect of peppermint water versus expressed breast milk on cracked nipple among lactating women. Methods: A quasi–experimental design was utilized. Sample: Purposive sample of 60 lactating women. Setting: The study was carried out in postnatal ward and postnatal clinics at four settings in Menoufia governorate: Menoufia University Hospital, Shebin El-Kom Teaching Hospital, Sirs-Elian Hospital, and Menouf Hospital. Instruments: An interviewing questionnaire, breastfeeding observation checklist, numerical rating scale, nipple soreness rating scale, nipple trauma score, and nipple trauma score Result: There was a statistically significant difference between the intervention groups in favor of the expressed milk group in relation to nipple pain, nipple soreness, and nipple trauma. Conclusion: Expressed breast milk was more effective than peppermint water as it relieves cracked nipple. Recommendations: Encouraging the use of expressed breast milk as it was safe and less expensive for those who have cracked nipple.

Vulvitis is considered one of the most common inflammatory conditions that occurs in the lower female genital tract and constitutes a considerable problem for many females causing ascending infection as well as anxiety and discomfort which was affecting the female's quality of life. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of an instructional module on vulvitis prevention among adolescent girls. Method: A quasi-experimental design was utilized. Sample: A purposive sample of 200 adolescent girls was included in the current study. Setting: The study was carried out at industrial secondary school and joint commercial secondary school at menouf city. Instruments: A structured selfadministrated questionnaire, knowledge assessment questionnaire, adolescent girl's practices evaluation form and adolescent girls' satisfaction scale. The results revealed that 1) There was a highly statistically significant difference between both groups regarding all knowledge and practices items one-month post intervention (P <0.0001) compared to pre intervention. 2) All adolescent girls in the study group were satisfied about the instructional module concerning vulvitis and its preventive measures. Conclusion: Instructional module was effective and had positive effects on enhancing of adolescent girls' knowledge and practicesregarding vulvitis and its preventive measures in the study group compared to the control group. Recommendation: Instructional module should be included as components adolescence education curriculum as active steps to increase awareness of adolescent girls regarding vulvitis and its preventive measures through schools, community and cultural groups.

: Background: Nowadays endoscopies become routine clinical procedures which produce intense anxiety, stress and dissatisfaction for children. Purpose: to evaluate the effect of psychological preparation on coping strategies of children undergoing endoscopy. Research design: A quasi experimental design. It was conducted at endoscopy unit of National Liver Institute Menoufia University. Sample: A convenient sample of 22 children who had liver diseases and undergoing endoscopy. Instruments: five data collection instruments were used; characteristics structured questionnaire, Physiological evaluation sheet, Children’s Coping Strategies Checklist (CCSC), Spielberg State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (SSTAI) and Model for End Stage Liver Disease (MELD) Score. Results: there was highly statistical significant difference in coping between study and control group on posttests (p .001). As well, there was highly statistical significant difference in anxiety level between study and control group on posttest (p .01). Conclusion: children in the study group who are engaged in psychological preparation exhibited more effective coping strategies, lower anxiety level on posttests than patients in the control group. Recommendations: The study recommended that psychological preparation should be importantly integrated in endoscopic units as a routine care to enhance children ' coping strategies and lower the negative consequences of this stressful experience.

They can become sore when they are excessively dry or wet, which makes them crack or fissure. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of peppermint water versus expressed breast milk on cracked nipple among lactating women. Methods: A quasi–experimental design was utilized. Sample: Purposive sample of 90 lactating women Setting: The study was carried out in postnatal ward and postnatal clinics at four settings in Menoufia governorate: Menoufia University Hospital, Shebin El-Kom Teaching Hospital, Sirs-Elian Hospital, and Menouf Hospital. Instruments: An interviewing questionnaire, breastfeeding observation checklist, numerical rating scale, nipple soreness rating scale, nipple trauma score, and nipple trauma score Result: There was a statistically significant difference between the intervention groups in favor of the expressed milk group in relation to nipple pain, nipple soreness, and nipple trauma. Conclusion: Expressed breast milk was more effective than peppermint water as it relieves cracked nipple. : Background : The Coronavirus pandemic of 2019 has seen a rapid surge in cases and deaths since its first detection in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The purpose of the study was to assess the pregnant women's and maternity nurses' knowledge regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). Design: A descriptive cross-sectional research design was utilized. Sample: A purposive sample of 290 pregnant women and a convenience sample of 40 maternity nurses were enrolled. Settings : The current study was conducted at the outpatient clinic of the Obstetrics department of Birket El Sab Hospital and MCH centers in Al-Birr Al-Sharqi and Al-Birr Al Gharbi in Birket El Sab. Results: the study findings reported that there was a poor knowledge score among the pregnant women and an average knowledge score among the maternity nurses regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Conclusion : Most of the studied pregnant women had poor knowledge scores, and the majority of the studied maternity nurses showed an average knowledge score regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Recommendations: Increasing the level of knowledge of pregnant women regarding coronavirus and providing training programs to the maternity nurses in hospitals and MCH is essential to improve their knowledge regarding coronavirus.

: Background: Nowadays, innovativeness helps organizations in providing value with advanced strategies and services, solving client and organizational problems, and providing positive changes to the organization and society. Purpose: Develop and implement an innovative managerial skills training program for nurse managers at Menoufia University hospitals. Design: A quasi-experimental design was utilized at this study. Setting: At different departments in Menoufia University hospital at Shebin El-Kom. Subjects: All available nurse managers (70) were included at this study. Instruments: Three instruments used for data collection: Instrument I; Needs assessment questionnaire, Instrument II; Self-administered knowledge questionnaire, and Instrument III; Barriers and enablers of innovative managerial skills questionnaire. Results: Revealed that the most need assessment of innovative managerial skills of study group were learning & technology, motivation, and goal-orientation, while there was statistically significant difference between study and control group throughout study phases regarding the innovative managerial skills; motivation, understanding the external environment and crisis and risk management. Also, more than half of innovative managerial skills enablers were at the control group than study group, while the majority of innovative managerial skills barriers were at the study group than control group. Conclusion: There was improvement of nurse managers' innovative managerial knowledge and skills then diminish at follow up after three months of implementing training program. Recommendation: Hospital administrators should continuously assess nurse managers' needs for innovative managerial knowledge and skills to integrate these skills into hospital culture and create a more innovation-friendly environment.
