: Background: Breastfeeding has multiple benefits for mothers and infants which protects against health problems. Telelactation services can sustain breastfeeding at any location through, audio visual technology. Purpose: To investigate effectiveness of telelactation intervention on knowledge, breastfeeding, and relationship between Primiparas and their newborns. Design: Quasi-experimental (control & intervention) design was done at antenatal, delivery and postpartum department of maternity and children Minia university hospital. A randomized sample of fifty four pregnant women per each group was included. Four instruments were used for data collection (breast feeding structured interview, postpartum bonding, mother infant attachment scale and maternal satisfaction of telelactation) questionnaire. Results: Primiparas in the intervention group had higher mean level of knowledge in the intervention group than control group (26.22± 2.62Vs13.74±2.83), primiparas in the intervention group initiated breastfeeding earlier (48.1%) than primiparas in the control group (14.8%) and the majority of primiparas in the study group were satisfied from using telelactation intervention for breastfeeding consultation. Conclusion: The study concluded that telelactation intervention was effective in improving primiparas’ knowledge and relationship between Primiparas and their newborns. Recommendation : Telelactation nursing intervention must be used to improve knowledge of Primiparas and solve breastfeeding problems.

Background: One of the most impactful communicable diseases present today is COVID-19.Children are one of the groups of society vulnerable to infection with the Corona virus. Hence, awareness programs about COVID-19 precaution guidelines for children and their caregivers may play an important role in reducing the spread of infection. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of educational guidelines program about COVID-19 precautions on knowledge and practices of children and their caregivers. Research Design: A quasi-experimental research design was utilized (pre and posttest). Setting: The study was conducted at pediatric outpatient clinic of Tanta Main University Hospital which includes Hematology, Chest, Neurology, Renal, Hepatic, Genetic, Endocrinal and Diabetes Departments. Sample: A purposive sampling approach of sixty children between 8-15 years of age and their caregivers were included from the previously mentioned setting. Two tools of data collection were used (Children and their Caregivers structured interview and Children and their Caregivers reported practice checklist). Results: the total mean score of children and their caregivers regarding knowledge and practice about COVID-19 and its precaution guidelines had improved after the program implementation with positive correlation between children's caregivers and children's knowledge and practice pre and post educational guidelines program. Conclusion: children and caregivers who received the educational guidelines program regarding COVID-19 and its precaution guidelines had higher levels of knowledge and practices on posttest than pretest. Recommendations : Continuous educational and awareness programs about COVID-19 and precaution guidelines must be provided periodically to help children and their caregivers to improve their knowledge and practice, therefore limit spread of infection.

: Background: A cesarean section is a surgical procedure in which incisions are made through a woman's abdomen and uterus to deliver her baby. Surgical site infections are a common complication among cesarean section patients. Further, SSIs increase maternal morbidity, stay in the hospital and the cost of treatment. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of applying of pre-cesarean section wound care guidelines on occurrence of postoperative infection among women. Methods: The quasi-experimental design was utilized. Sample : A purposive sample consisted of two hundred pregnant women undergoing cesarean section. Setting: The study was carried out at the Obstetrics and Gynecological Department & outpatient clinic at Beni-suef University Hospital in Beni-suef Governorate, Egypt. Instruments: An interviewing questionnaire, self-care practice tool, and follow-up assessment tool. Results: There was a statistically significant reduction in postoperative infection in the study group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The women in the study group who applied wound care guidelines were less exposed to cesarean section incision infection than those who had not received wound care guidelines. Recommendations: More knowledge, beliefs, and practices related to cesarean wound healing need to be corrected. Self-wound care guidelines should be incorporated as an essential part of routine antenatal care and post-partum before discharge after a cesarean section.

: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the primary component of patient-centered treatment is self-management practices, which serves as the foundation for the management of diabetes mellitus. Purpose: to examine the effect of self-directed management implementation on short-term complications among patients with type II diabetic patients. Design: Quasi Experimental design. Setting: The outpatient medical clinic of Menoufia University Hospital in Egypt. Sampling: A consecutive sample, which included 240 diabetic persons with Type II Diabetes Mellitus, the sample was selected randomly to assign them into of 120 in each group; 120 in control group, while study group was divided into subtype groups (study1 and study2) 60 patient in each group. Instruments: Three instruments used to collect the current data; Instrument (I): Diabetes Mellitus Structured Questionnaire; Instrument (II): Bio physiological measurements. Instrument (III): Patient's self-practices in management. Results: the existing outcomes recorded that; study2, who implemented self-directed management practices with olive oil have been associated with better improvement in all lab investigations as blood glucose 146.33± 25.74, while 167.17 ± 46.28 & 266.94± 63.27 respectively; in study1 and control group; furthermore high density (HDL) in study2 65.90± 2.72 if compared with 62.68 ± 4.04& 65.90± 2.72 respectively; in study1 and control group, also decreasing in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in study2 than other groups (94.63± 3.31, 96.40 ± 3.35&153.39± 13.99) respectively; highly significance difference among studied groups in short term diabetes complications frequency after application of self-management practices (study2 better than study1&control group). Conclusion: The existing study concluded that implementing of directed self-management practices with olive oil as part of a health dietary plan is likely to produce better Type II Diabetes Mellitus outcomes and reduce short term complications when combined with physical exercise. Recommendation: Replicate the study in another setting and using a larger sample size to generalize the search results. Self-management program can be applied as a hospital routine care for patient with diabetes.

: Background : Head nurses play one of the most challenging roles in organizational healthcare. They directly managing the nursing staff at unit level and ensuring that they act in accordance with hospital rules and procedures. Head nurses also, have a significant managerial impact because they have the ability to influence the performance and quality of healthcare organizations. They are faced with many obstacles in their daily work that might encounter their excellence performance. Aim: The study aimed to develop an obstacles encounter head nurse' role excellence instrument. Research design: Methodological research design was used to conduct this study involving the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods. Setting: The study was carried out in eight hospitals at Qalyubia Governorate as follows: Benha university hospital, Benha educational hospital, and Benha fever hospital, Benha ophthalmology hospital, Sheben El Qanater fever hospital, Sheben El Qanater central hospital, Toukh central hospital, and Toukh fever hospital. Sample: Two samples were utilized to achieve study' purpose; multistage random sample included 104 head nurse (was utilized for gathering qualitative data that was required to define the main domains and themes which make up the instrument), and convenience sample consisted of 160 head nurse (was utilized to test the reliability and construct validity of the developed instrument). Instruments: three instruments were used in this study: (a) An obstacles encounter head nurses' role excellence open-ended questionnaire, (b) obstacles encounter head nurses' role excellence version one, and (c) obstacles encounter head nurses' role excellence version two. Results: the study revealed that developed instrument has high score for content validity index (.92) deducted that sample of items for the construct being measured was appropriate, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated to be good (.93), Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin was high (.76), Bartlett's test was highly significant, and varimex rotation extracted four components with eigenvalue >1.0 and accounted variances ≥ 40%. Conclusion: The final version of developed instrument is considered to be valid and reliable based on statistical analysis. It contains 46 items within four domains categorized as follows: obstacles related to working conditions, obstacles related to head nurses, obstacles related to nurse managers at middle and top levels and obstacles related to staff nurses. Recommendations: it recommends that: using the developed instrument to assess obstacles encounters head nurses' role excellence in different healthcare settings, examine obstacles encounter head nurses from senior managers and staff nurses' point of view. Furthermore, develop strategy to overcome obstacles.

: Chemotherapy Induced Phlebitis (CIP) is an unpleasant side effect of peripheral intravenous therapy, particularly after chemotherapy. The nurses take precautions to avoid the development of (CIP). Using Sesame oil and cold compresses can play an important role in reducing CIP. Purpose: To examine the effect of preventive measures on chemotherapy induced phlebitis among patients with cancer. Setting: The study was conducted in the outpatient clinic and the Oncology department of Menoufia University Hospital. Research design: A quasi-experimental (study/control) research design was utilized. Subjects: A consecutive sample of 100 adult patients with cancer of both sexes who were receiving chemotherapy treatment was selected. Instruments: instrument (I): Structured Interview questionnaire: instrument (II): Vein Quality Assessment Tool (VAT), and instrument (III): Visual Infusion Phlebitis (VIP) scale. Results: There was a highly statistical significant difference between both groups related to Chemotherapy Induced phlebitis post intervention (p<0.001). Conclusion: applying Sesame oil and cold compress have positive significant effect on preventing chemotherapy induced phlebitis. Recommendation: Oncology patients should be educated about identifying and reporting any changes in their vein condition. Collaborating with other institutions to implement Sesame oil and cold compresses as a preventive measures to reduce the incidence of (CIP) among patients who were receiving chemotherapy.
