Rabbit syndrome, termed for the resemblance to a rabbit chewing, is characterized by regular movements of the oral and masticatory musculature at a frequency of 4 to 6Hz without involvement of the tongue.1 Most commonly, rabbit syndrome is associated with prolonged exposure to antipsychotics and has a prevalence of 2‒5% among these patients.2 Because the symptoms are associated with drug treatment, rabbit syndrome is described as an extrapyramidal side effect of antipsychotics that is seen most often in middle‒ aged to elderly patients. In addition, rabbit syndrome has been described in a limited number of cases to arise in antipsychotic patients without administration of antipsychoticsnaive patients, although in all of these cases, rabbit syndrome was secondary to a brain structural abnormality or mood disorder.3‒5 Rabbit syndrome can be distinguished from tardive dyskinesia by the latter involving motion of the tongue while the former sparing the tongue, and this distinction is important because tardive dyskinesia worsens whereas rabbit syndrome improves with antiparkinsonian medication.1,2,5‒7 The mechanism responsible for antipsychotic‒induced rabbit syndrome is thought to involve dopamine receptor blockade in the basal ganglia.7 Furthermore, one study showed decreased basal ganglia perfusion by single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in a patient displaying rabbit syndrome.8 Here, we report a case of rabbit syndrome in an antipsychotic naïve naive patient with increased basal ganglia/thalamus perfusion during symptoms. Case report

According to the WHO more than I billion adults are overweight and of these at least 200million men and 300million women are clinically obese.1 In a prospective study where over 9million people were evaluated in the last 3 decades ,it was found that the average body mass index (BMI) increased by 0.4‒0.5kg/m2/decade and subregion trends showed that the average BMI increased by 1.4kg/m2 in men and 1.9kg/m2 in women/decade.2 Obesity has been found to be a major risk factor for many diseases like cardiovascular diseases (CVD), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), stroke, hypertension and many cancers.3 Special emphasis has been laid on finding strategies by which energy expenditure can be increased ,with the discovery of brown and beige adipocytes in humans. Earlier we had summarized the location, differentiation, surface markers of brown adipose tissue (BAT) /Beige adipocytes and mechanisms other than cold/β3 adrenergic agonists by which they can be targeted to improve obesity and thus metabolic syndrome (MS) and other comorbidities.4‒6 Here we further try to update how one can use enhancement of Brown adipose tissue( BAT) /Beige Brite adipocytes in the management of obesity and T2DM.

Epigallocatechin gallate EGCG is a naturally occurring alkaloid found in green tea It has been shown to bind with nanomolar affinity to the monomeric prion protein and induce conformational instability A better understanding of the specific molecular interactions that impart this strong interaction and molecular rearrangement are of interest for the development of ligands that possess both high affinity yet impart stabilizing effects Recently it has been demonstrated that molecules with such characteristics reduce PrPsc titers in both in vitro and ex vivo experiments To gain structural insights into EGCG s effect on the monomeric prion protein PrPc comparative molecular docking studies of EGCG was performed against SHaPrPC using MOE Sybyl and FlexX software docking programs These results show that the side orientations of Tyr and Tyr play an important role in binding of EGCG near the amylome region motif between loop and helix
