This paper presents another way to assess power quality delivered by transformers. It has been shown that is possible to measure the wave form irregularity of electrical signals radiated by electrical systems by means of the sample entropy algorithm. The electro-magnetic signal entropy reveals the presence of harmonics in the industrial and domestic electric power supply. It will show magnetic radiated wave measurements taken in the closest point to the transformer PCC, through a non-invasive and indirect measurement (using wireless magnetic sensor).

The penetration of nonlinear loads on power systems increases distortion levels and can cause severe problems to power systems. Many factors affect the degree of generated harmonics including attenuation, diversity, system voltage, source impedance and frequency. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to investigate and accurately quantify the effects of these factors on the harmonics produced by a group of Personal Computers (PCs). Experimental measurements and computer simulations are performed to confirm the observations.

Real life network dynamic phenomena are used to demonstrate how the calculation of IEC 61000-4-30 parameters can be affected. The voltage frequency can change instantaneously at a point in the network due to a shift in the position of zero crosses when large reactive power changes occur. Pseudo voltage swells can be recorded and spectral leakage incurred. It is proposed that a 10/12-cycle block value for frequency is used in addition to the IEC 61000-4-30 10-second values.

In the paper the comparative analysis of voltage harmonics measurements performed in the transmission network of 400 kV is presented. The voltage was measured using three measuring instruments: resistive voltage divider, inductive voltage transformer and capacitive voltage transformer. Measurement errors were estimated for transformers with reference to the harmonic values obtained with the use of the voltage divider.

On the agenda was among others a discussion on what are the main issues on harmonics at the moment and in the near future. The results of this discussion are summarized in this paper and some of the issues are discussed in more detail in this paper and in its companion paper. This paper discusses emission from wind and solar power as well as advantages and disadvantages of active and passive filters.

This paper introduces a new algorithm of polyphasic segmentation. This new algorithm combines the strength of the concept of voltage signal tensor with the benefits offered by the residual segmentation technique in order to generate a unique pattern of segmentation. This segmentation strategy is validated using a set of synthetic signals with voltage variation in the remnant voltage and the start point of the event. The proposed algorithm is tested using a set of real signals captured by a local network operator.

This paper focuses on the effects of different control strategies of the distributed generations (DG) on the equivalent output impedance of the grid-connected inverter under different operating conditions of microgrid. For grid-connected inverter with LCL filter, two equivalent impedance models using PQ and V/f control were deduced in detail respectively, meanwhile the spectrum response curves of these two kinds of impedance under typical parameters were drawn. The different characteristics of the inverter output impedances between PQ control mode and V/f control mode were compared and analyzed. Finally, under the situation of grid-connected and islanded operation of microgrid, simulation researches of DG equivalent impedance with and without consideration of the inverter control mode on the current harmonic characteristics of each node were carried out, and the validity of the proposed method was verified.

In the context of power quality the harmonics problems are regulated by normative recommendation based on levels of individual and total distortions by ANEEL - Brazil (National Electric Energy Agency). This paper outlines and implements methodology for mathematical and statistical analysis of the behavior of the total harmonic distortion of voltage and current at the input of a frequency converter feeding an induction motor common, coupled to a mechanical centrifugal fan. The results show a trend of decreasing harmonic distortion with increasing frequency drive the load in question.

This work aims at resolving the issue of a model that uses symmetrical mathematical components, dedicated to longitudinal simple unbalance for three phase radial transmission electrical lines of an electricity distribution system. The symmetrical component of both current and voltage are obtained, as well as values of the electric distribution system parameters, in order to determine imbalance factors which may characterize quality of supply service for the electricity end-users.
