Physics Education Technology (PhET) as Confirmatory Tools in Learning Physics 物理教育技术作为学习物理的验证性工具

Teaching physics are always challenging tasks. Teachers need to be responsive to their students’ needs. The best tool to utilized is Physics Education Technology (PhET). PhET provides features that support learning and teaching physics, including testing. These feature can be expanded as confirmatory tools for students. To explore and compare the tests result between two groups of students, the quantitative experimental methods was applied. The first group took the test using graph paper and with confirmatory tools. The other group took the test without any tools. The students’ answer were graded using vector assessment rubric. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and using an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the group of students who use PhET simulation obtained significanly different results (ρ=0.000), with average score of 80.43, which was higher than other group (62.35). The effect size was approximately 1.07, which is much larger than typical sized effect.

The Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field is included in electromagnetic waves which have a frequency range of 0-300 Hz. In foodstuffs, the use of magnetic fields can be used for food security. Lemuru fish is a fish that is consumed by many people. In general, lemuru fish will last approximately 8 hours after arriving from capture. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of exposure to the ELF magnetic field on the degree of acidity (pH) and density in lemuru fish. The research design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field exposure treatment is used to increase lemuru fish resistance by inhibiting pathogenic bacteria. The research sample was 110 lemuru fish and divided into 5 groups. One group served as a control, 2 experimental groups were exposed to an ELF magnetic field intensity of 700µT for 60 minutes and 120 minutes, and the other 2 groups were exposed to an ELF magnetic field with an intensity of 1200µT for 60 minutes and 120 minutes. The variables studied included the pH value and the density of lemuru fish. Measurements of pH and density were carried out at the 8th and 20th hours after exposure to the ELF magnetic field. The research data were analyzed using statistical analysis, namely the Kruskall Wallis Test. The results of this study indicated that the intensity of 1200µT for 60 minutes was effective for maintaining the pH value of lemuru fish, while the intensity which was effective for maintaining the density value was 1200µT for 60 minutes and 120 minutes until the 20th hour.

ANALYSIS OF ACOUSTIC AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF OIL PALM EMPTY FRUIT BUNCH PARTICLE COMPOSITE BOARDS FABRICATED WITH VARYING ADHESIVE CONTENT 不同黏合剂含量油棕空果串颗粒复合板的声学和物理性能分析

A study was performed to analyze the sound intensity level and physical properties of a composite board made from oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) particles mixed with polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) adhesive. The composite boards were fabricated with various concentrations of adhesive, namely 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%, and 16%. The intensity level was measured at sound wave frequencies of 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, and 4000 Hz. The results showed that the highest sound intensity level, 74,2 dB at a frequency of 500 Hz, was found in the composite board with an 8% adhesive concentration. This composite board is categorized as a low-density composite board. The lowest sound intensity level, 58,6 dB at a frequency of 125 Hz, was found in the composite board produced with 16% adhesive concentration. This composite board is categorized as a high-density composite board. The physical property test results for all adhesive concentration variations showed that the resulting composite board density was 0,705-0,723 g/cm3, and the moisture content was 8,36%-9,66%. These values met the requirements of SNI 03-2105-2006.

DEVELOPMENT OF PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT ON BASIC PHYSICS PRACTICUM 基础物理实习绩效考核的发展

Basic Physics is one of the courses supported by practicum activities to increase students' understanding of the material presented in lectures. So to support the achievement of practical activities, an assessment is required. Where the assessment developed is the Performance Assessment is expected to make lecturers to improve the quality of assessment on the Physics Basic lab. Performance assessment is an assessment done by observing the activities of students in doing something. This assessment is suitable for assessing the competency achievement that requires students to perform certain tasks such as laboratory practice in accordance with the demands of the syllabus. This study aims to develop a Performance Assessment on a valid Physics Basic exercise. This study uses the development of the Plomp model which goes through the following stages: (1) preliminary research, (2) prototyping phase, and (3) test and assessment Phase. At the phase prototyping phase is done performance assessment design on the Physics Basic lab. Performance assessment that has been designed and then validated by 2 validators. Validation results obtained 85.17 with valid categories

STUDY OF SAP WATER QUALITY BASED ON VISCOSITY AND DIELECTRIC CONSTANTS 基于粘度和介电常数的SAP水质研究

This study aims to determine the quality of sap water by measuring its viscosity and dielectric constant. The sample used is pure sap water and sap water mixed with coconut water. The dielectric constant was measured using the parallel plate method while the viscosity was measured using the Oswald viscometer method. Based on the measurement results, the viscosity coefficient value of pure sap water is 1.558 Poise. The value of the viscosity coefficient decreases as the concentration of the sap water decreases where the viscosity coefficient value is 1.005 Poise for the sap water with a concentration of 50% and 0.753 Poise for the sap water with a concentration of 10%. In measuring the value of the dielectric constant, the dielectric constant of pure sap water is 7.38 x 105. The dielectric constant value of the sap water decreases with the addition of coconut water which is 4.90 x 105 at a concentration of 50%, and 3.39 x 105 at a concentration 10%. Pure sap water has a higher level of viscosity than coconut water which is indicated by a higher coefficient of viscosity compared to sap water which has been mixed with coconut water so that it is able to store more electrical energy, as a result the capacitance increases and the dielectric constant also increases.

DEVELOPMENT OF PALM CELL CARBON AS MEDIA PRACTICUM OF SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS IN ELECTROMAGNETIC APPLICATIONS 掌细胞炭作为电磁应用科学实验介质的开发

Research on science experiment practicum media has been carried out. This research is a laboratory experimental research. The aim of the research is to see the absorption of palm shell carbon against electromagnetic waves (RAM). Radar Absorber Material using palm shell carbon will be applied to anechoich chambers in science experiment practicums. Research procedure: carbonized palm shells were then activated using HCl. Activation was carried out with concentrations of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Molar. In addition to the differences in the concentration of the activation substance, variations in the thickness of the print resulting from the activation were also carried out. The thickness of the printed material varies from 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. The results of reflection loss measurements using a Vector network analyzer (VNA) at a frequency of 4GHz - 8GHz show differences for each concentration. Maximum reflection loss of palm shells using 1M HCl activation agent (-13.72 dB); 2M (-13.62dB); 3M (-13.35 dB); and 4M (-13.04dB) and 5M (-11.4 dB) concentrations. Variations in print thickness also have a significant effect on the absorber value of a material, the thicker the print results, the absorber value also increases. From the observations that have been made, the maximum absorber value is obtained when the thickness is 10mm at a concentration of 1M for the substance being tested.

This research is a laboratory experimental research. The aim of the research is to see the absorption of palm shell carbon against electromagnetic waves (RAM). Radar Absorber Material using palm shell carbon will be applied to anechoich chambers in science experiment practicums. Research procedure: carbonized palm shells were then activated using HCl. Activation was carried out with concentrations of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Molar. In addition to the differences in the concentration of the activation substance, variations in the thickness of the print resulting from the activation were also carried out. The thickness of the printed material varies from 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. The results of reflection loss measurements using a Vector network analyzer (VNA) at a frequency of 4GHz - 8GHz show differences for each concentration. Maximum reflection loss of palm shells using 1M HCl activation agent (-13.72 dB); 2M (-13.62dB); 3M (-13.35 dB); and 4M (-13.04dB) and 5M (-11.4 dB) concentrations. Variations in print thickness also have a significant effect on the absorber value of a material, the thicker the print results, the absorber value also increases. The purpose of this research is to develop a Phydromod product which is an android-based physics practicum e-module. This is because the physics practice courses at the Faculty of Engineering, Ibnu Sina University (UIS) has a fundamental obstacle, namely there is no fixed module that guides all students like other universities and high student mobility. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (RnD) method by following the ADDIE model for module and Waterfall for aplication. Phydromod was developed using the Java program, which will later contain practicum modules for each meeting. The subjects in this study were 1C Regular Industrial Engineering students. The evaluation was carried out using two questionnaires which were analyzed using a Likert scale, which consisted of a module validation questionnaire and the phydromod application. The results of this study are in the form of module products with a module validation value of 88 and 88.2% Phydromod implementation.

Teaching materials in the form of general physics modules integrated with quran verses developed by lecturers can improve students' religious character. Type of research is development research with Four-D Model consisting of four main stages, namely: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The instruments used to collect data were expert validation sheets, module implementation observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and student character assessments. The results of this study showed that the developed module met the very valid criteria with a validity of 94. The average activity implementation was 1.57, which means that all activities were carried out properly. Response of student about the module is known that the average practicality of the module is 91, which means the module is very practical. student character has an average core of 79 in the good category. Thus, the general physics module has been developed were valid and practical. Keywords: Module; Quran Verse; Religius Character

The use of teaching materials in the learning process really helps the realization of an active, effective and efficient learning, as well as the discovery of concepts independently by students. One of the efforts to realize this as well as the aim of this research is to develop teaching materials in the form of physics learning worksheet oriented to the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model which is valid for class XI students in the Science program at SMA Negeri 6 Padang. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The research procedure was a 4-D model namely define, design, develop, and disseminate, but this stage was not carried out due to time constraints. The research instrument used was a validity questionnaire. Furthermore, the data obtained was analyzed to see the validity of the worksheet. The results showed that the Student Facilitator and Explaining oriented worksheet developed was categorized as valid with a percentage of 80.2%. The validity of the worksheet is illustrated by the results of validation by experts on the four aspects of the assessment, namely the appropriateness of the content, language and images, presentation, and graphics. In learning, the ability to think critically must be trained and familiarized. The goal is for learners to understand the concepts of science and not just remember formulas. Critical thinking is the ability to think with high curiosity about information to gain insights. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method that aims to describe the critical thinking ability of students. the results showed that the critical thinking ability of students is still low, so they still have to be trained and familiarized. To help improve students' critical thinking skills, they can use the right learning models and learning methods. Keywords : critical thinking ability, learning model, learning method
