Exploration of Personal Big Data in Blended Learning 个人大数据在混合学习中的探索

With the development of information technology, the application of big data in the field of education has been deepened, and blended learning has been popularized in teaching process. In blended learning, teacher can't remember every student in the process of learning in all details, resulting in methods of emotional subjective evaluation can only be used on the evaluation process of teachers to students. Without doubt it cannot describe their real behavior performance objectively and fairly. In view of this problem, this paper studies personal big data of blended learning, through the establishment of a large data model of personal learning, and analysis of these data, so as to provide a basis for objective evaluation. According to the data of teaching in software engineering course as an example, through the analysis of classroom video of the teaching process, gets the expression and action of learners in class in usual, and sees it as a factor of reflection of seriousness degree of the students listening in class, and it can reflect the attitude of students in a sense. This experiment shows that learning process of big data have a relatively objective evaluation to students, it can also show students' behavior history, so as to spur students to improve these behaviors consciously.

Developing a Central Repository for Capturing Extracurricular Activities and Achievements Associated with Learning Outcomes 建立与学习成果相关的课外活动和成就的中央存储库

Recent surveys indicate that employers are looking for new graduates with soft skills more than purely academic achievements. There have been discussions on the importance of how participating in extracurricular activities and achievements contribute to the future success of a graduate in terms of personal development and outcome-based learning. However, current university transcripts fall flat in showing attributes and learning outcomes associated to extracurricular activities and achievements. In this paper, we identify the design issues against the personal development cycle and review a practical implementation in a university of Hong Kong. Potential benefits to institutions and learners in enhancing the employability, limitations and rooms for improvement are discussed.

The Acceptance of WeChat Questionnaire Function for Data Collection: A Study in Postgraduate Students in Macau 微信问卷功能对数据收集的接受程度:一项针对澳门研究生的研究

The aim of this study is to identify the factors that influence the acceptance of WeChat questionnaire function. The empirical results were obtained in a sample of 153 postgraduate students in Macau. The results of PLS analysis indicate that social network size influences performance expectancy and price value, then, performance expectancy, social influence, facilitative conditions, and price value directly affect the acceptance of using WeChat questionnaire function to collect data. Although effort expectancy does not show a significant direct effect on the behavior intention toward the use of WeChat questionnaire function, it shows an indirect effect on the behavior intention through the performance expectancy. The results of this study provide implications for social media developers to improve the questionnaire function for researchers to collect data.

Exploration and Practice of Blended Learning in HVAC Course Based on Flipped Classroom 基于翻转课堂的暖通空调课程混合式学习的探索与实践

In the age of education informationization, flipped classroom in blended learning is an effective teaching model. This paper proposes that the flipped classroom teaching model in HVAC course is composed of three links before class and five links in class. It introduces the teaching designs of flipped classroom in Air Conditioning course, which includes before-class tasks of analysis of students, teaching objectives setting and motivation boosting, highly structured class activities design, as well as diversified and impartial evaluation modes and rubrics. The teaching design methods and implementation strategies proposed in this paper provide theoretical reference for teaching reform of relative courses.

Automatic Recommendation Technology for Learning Resources with Convolutional Neural Network 基于卷积神经网络的学习资源自动推荐技术

Automatic learning resources recommendation has become an increasingly relevant problem: it allows students to discover new learning resources that matches their tastes, and enables e-learning system to target their learning resources to the right students. In this paper, we propose an automatic learning resources recommendation algorithm based on convolutional neural network (CNN). The CNN can be used to predict the latent factors from the text information. To train the CNN, its input and output should be solved firstly. For its input, the language model is employed. For its output, we propose the latent factor model, which is regularized by L1-norm. Furthermore, the split Bregman iteration method is introduced to solve the model. The major novelty of the proposed recommendation algorithm is that a new CNN is constructed to make personalized recommendations. Experimental results on public database in terms of quantitative assessment show significant improvements over conventional methods. Especially, it can also work well when the existing recommendation algorithms suffer from the cold-start problem.

The Design and Implementation of the 3D Educational Game Based on VR Headsets 基于VR头显的3D教育游戏的设计与实现

Rapid popularization of VR equipment in human life has brought unprecedented convenience and entertainment experience. Cardboard, Oculus Rift, VR Gear and other VR headsets are gradually being accepted and recognized. The realization of VR educational games will become the key point of the application of VR technology in the field of education. This paper demonstrates how to the possibility of educational game by using VR Gear which is a VR display device produced by Samsung. The 3D educational game of a garbage classification is designed and implemented to cultivate students' green habits. This game promotes development in VR industry, provides educational resources and also supports students' autonomous learning.

Collaborative Online International Learning is a new approach to teaching and learning that brings together geographically distant instructors and students from different lingua-cultural backgrounds to communicate and collaborate through online communication tools. This study communicates the lessons learned from a collaboration case study between Suranaree University of Technology and the State University of New York at Oswego.

A Social Network Analysis of Online Collaborative Learning Aspects in an Online Course 网络课程中网络协作学习方面的社会网络分析

Online Collaborative Learning is typically developed and maintained through participants' social interaction. For this purpose, this paper chose density, concentration, cohesion subgroup and other network indices to analyze the interaction network characteristics. It was showed interaction density was not high, and the teacher had greater influence on group participation. There are, however, substantial differences in the participants' activities. The results also indicated that power distributions were uneven, and the participants tended to interact frequently with some core participants. The study also revealed that participants had different social roles.

A comparative study on Popular Science between China and the United States 中美科普比较研究

The general understanding of popular science is the popularization and dissemination of scientific knowledge. From the view of literature and related policy, this study analyzes multiple aspects between China and United States, such as different concepts (public understanding of science and popular science), development stage, content, method and characteristics. We think that considerable perspective of Popular Science is education and learning. Popular Science does not only pay attention to the dissemination of scientific knowledge, also need to the public scientific spirit. Moreover, the goal of popular science will not only popularize scientific knowledge, scientific methods, scientific ideas and scientific spirit, but also people will be aware that science is a very important part of human life.

The development of internet and communication technology brings forth the advancement of virtual learning communities in which teachers can communicate with each other to make improvement in their curriculum knowledge, so how to manage the teachers' curriculum knowledge in virtual learning community becomes an important topic. This empirical study, based on a review of relevant documents, is intended to construct the managing mode of teachers' curriculum knowledge in virtual learning community, by taking into consideration the features of teachers' curriculum knowledge and relevant theories about knowledge management and virtual learning community.
