Telecom industry is a typical data-intensive industry where data mining applications will enable a good guidance on marketing strategies, and the cluster analysis can be used in customer segmentation. The paper makes a detailed and comprehensive analysis of classic K-means clustering algorithm, and proposes the modeling process for telecom customer segmentation according to the principle of the algorithm. A resolution of customer segmentation for the Changzhou telecom in Jiangsu province is proposed, and practical results show that the clustering technology based on the K-means method provides an effective and successful resolution of customer segmentation for Telecom, bringing services closer to the customers.

Probabilistic planning is of growing interest. Researchers formed international probabilistic planning competition (IPPC) from 2004. Every planner will hand out their best estimation in the competition. As the accuracy of the planner advances with times, we can assume most planners will be right in most cases. So given enough planners and times, we assume the action selected by majority is most likely to be the best. Hence we proposed a naive majority combination method for probabilistic planning in this paper. It simply uses the most selected action as the answer in every domain.

Despite of many advantages of OFDM, high PAPR is one of the main problems that prevent OFDM from being used more generally in broadband systems. Many approaches such as clipping and filtering, coding, SLM, PTS, and tone reservation (TR) have been studied to reduce the peak magnitude of OFDM symbols. In these approaches, tone reservation method constructs an additive PAPR reduction signal that uses a small subset of reserved subcarriers. These reserved tones are orthogonal with the data tones and, hence, cause no additional distortion, no side information, and low implementation cost. However, TR schemes with oversample or not affects PAPR reduction performance significantly. TR schemes without oversample would bring peak value up again easily when pass by HPA and then bring out-of-band (OOB) distortion. In this paper, we evaluated proposed TR scheme with oversample in OFDM systems and focused on the effects of oversample technique to our proposed system. The simulation results show that the scheme can provide good performance and fast convergence.

To intercept off-axis scattering of the pulsed laser beam from a Q-switch Nd:YAG laser in the atmosphere, the characteristic of the scattering signal was investigated theoretically. By simulating the scattering signal with a signal generator, the improvement of SNR and the corresponding operating condition of a correlation element was checked experimentally. The results suggest that the correlation method can improve the off-axis scattering interception.

Resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rsfMRI) is a relatively new and an powerful method for evaluating regional interactions that occur when a participant is not performing an explicit task. Because of sensitiveness to time delay and length of time courses, respectively, traditional methods of correlation and coherence based on region of interest are not very suitable for rsfMRI. In this paper, we analyzed low frequency property of rsfMRI data. Firstly, we calculated the low frequency of resting-state Blood-Oxygenation-Level-Dependent(BOLD) signal on every voxel using Welch method, based on which we analyzed the statistical distribution cross subjects and voxels. The low frequency feature is proved by a series of experiments to be more robust and consistent comparing with coorelation in time domain and coherency in frequency domain. We found that the property of low frequency statistical distribution is dominant on narrow band, which is around 0.0137HZ.

In this paper, we focus on providing users with an effective and efficient way to extract useful information from complex structured XML databases. We propose a new query mechanism to provide users with the ability to refine the ambiguous semantics of the initiative ATP query before execution, thus we can avoid identifying meaningful answers from large amount of irrelevant results returned by existing methods. We implement algorithms for efficient evaluating an ATP query. Rich experimental results show that our method can be used easily and outperform existing query engines significantly.

To calculate transfer matrix of the plane non-uniform pure bending beam by transfer matrix method of multibody system quickly and efficiently, the stiffness matrix of the beam was calculated by the finite element method firstly, and then the transfer matrix of the beam was calculated. It was proved by the example that this method is effective and feasible. And it provided a new idea to solve the problem of complex system dynamics by combining finite element method and transfer matrix method of multibody system.

License plate automatic recognition is realized by Matlab in the paper, which is applied in toll payment, guard monitor, et al, and has promising future in the control and management of the traffic. The system can be divided into three modules that are license plate orientation, license plate character segmentation and recognition. In the process, it involves image processing, color dimensional conversion, gray transform, morphologic and so on. Each part is analyzed and discussed directly with corresponding results. The recognition is accurate and clear. At last, the shortage and future direction is given for following research. This project is the course final project of the graduate course of “Image Analysis and Recognition”. Through the training of this project, graduate students can improve their knowledge of image processing, at the same time, they have a better gain in the solving real problem and innovative abilities.
