Promoting Gender Equality through Education in India 在印度通过教育促进性别平等

-In recent years, we continue to hear many rapes of children and women either in the house or at their work place. India approves a tougher new anti-rape law to punish sex crimes, including death for repeat rape offenders. Girls and women are attacked every day across the country, particularly young people, are sick of it. The students and public started to protest. The crime against women and children are not the main reason for protests, instead the pervasive gender inequality in India. But always the questions remains, how to improve the status of women and girl in India? All sectors of our society including students, academia, politician, public, civil and judiciary, the police and the government have to give voice against gender equality. Gender equality norms is fundamental thing in India for long term sustainable change in developing new systems, enforcement law, policy makers and bureaucrats. This chapter emphasis and highlights educational needs and gender equity. Keywords--Gender, Women, Education, Equity.

-Women empowerment and economic development in any country are very closely related in one direction, wherein the developmental measures alone can play a major role in driving down the inequality between men and women and empowering women may benefit development in the other direction. Women need to be ‘empowered’ mainly to narrow down the existing ‘gender gap’. Also, the government and policy makers in this field have to create a field regardless of gender so that the differences between women and men are nullified and to power the plugs of gender equality across the nation. Mammogram Image Segmentation by Watershed Algorithm and Classification through k-NN Classifier 分水岭分割与k-NN分类器分类

-This paper presents a novel approach to detect the tumors in the mammogram images based on watershed algorithm. To increase the performance of the classifier, watershed algorithm combined with K-NN classifier is implemented. The gray level co-occurrence matrices (GLCM’S) are obtained from the mammogram images, through the extraction of Halarick’s texture features are classified. American Society of cancer, UK, provides the benchmark data, MIAS (Mammographic Image Analysis Society) database for the validation of proposed algorithm. These images are used for further analysis by classification into three categories using the algorithms. Mammogram abnormalities are found to be detected using the proposed algorithm with the available ground truth given in the data base (mini-MIAS database), the accuracy obtained is as high as 83.33%. ---Cloud computing, in particular its Infrastructure as a Service model (IaaS), allows system administrators to obtain resources to distribute their applications and to bear the cost just for the resources that are consumed. Hence, local data centers are replaced by remote infrastructures. Hence, the specific hardware expert needed from system administrators is brought down. Cloud technology needs new skills. Estimating resources that the applications require to execute in the cloud is a complicated task. System administrators often do not know the low-level technical details. Estimations can change based on the cloud service provider features. Finding the efficient provision for a cloud application is also a tedious task. A large number of services offered by a considerable number of providers that are not comparable. In order to assist system administrators this paper focuses an architecture that supports the process of deploying applications in cloud providers, using high level information based on an operational requirement.

Analysis and Optimization of Process Parameters in EDM of RENE 80 Using Taguchi Method 用田口法分析和优化RENE 80电火花加工工艺参数

-The present work aims to carry out an experimental investigation into the electrical discharge machining process while machining of Nickel super alloy RENE80. Taguchi L9 orthogonal array is used to plan the experimental layout. Taguchi method is used to analyze the effect of each process parameter such as peak current, pulse on time and pulse off time on chosen machining characteristics namely material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (SR) and also to predict the optimal combination of process parameters to get maximum material removal rate and minimum surface roughness separately. Further analysis of variance has been done to identify the significant affect of parameters on machining characteristics. It is found that parameters peak current and pulse on time have a significant affect where as pulse off time has no significant affect on material removal rate and surface roughness. Confirmation experiments are conducted at their respective optimum parametric settings to check the predicted optimal values of performance characteristics. Then percentage errors are calculated and are 0.94 and 4.87 respectively in predicting MRR and SR values. Confirmation experiments are conducted at their respective optimum parametric settings to check the predicted optimal values of performance characteristics. Then percentage errors are calculated and are 0.94 and 4.87 respectively in predicting MRR and SR values.
