Adaptive intelligent spider robot 自适应智能蜘蛛机器人

This paper present the development of an adaptive intelligent spider robot. With the incorporation of sensors, the four-legged spider robot is able to monitor the environment wirelessly. A new auto-station adaptation National Instrument (NI) controller in application for intelligent robot is proposed. The research work will solve the weak adaptive ability of conventional existing robot. The proposed project proposes a self-adaptive smart spider robot that functions without human interfacing. The proposed design utilizes the control scheme with National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW to produce a smart portable system. Furthermore, the adaptive intelligent spider robot easily adapts to new situations when facing obstacles. The design is carried out using feed-back loop schematic LabVIEW interfacing with the smart controller and incorporation of GH-311 Ultrasonic Sensor to detect any obstacle in front of the robot, GH-312 Smoke Sensor which use to detect smoke in the particular area and LM35 Temperature sensor to get temperature for the surround. The proposed module was designed and implemented using movable wireless Router Module TP Link TL-MR3420 Router transceiver for device communication. The robot was tested and analyzed showing the system efficiency of above 95%, which is competent in robotic applications [1-4].

A simple statistical analysis approach for Intrusion Detection System 入侵检测系统的简单统计分析方法

A novel approach to analyze statistically the network traffic raw data is proposed. The huge amount of raw data of actual network traffic from the Intrusion Detection System is analyzed to determine if a traffic is a normal or harmful one. Using the active ports in each host in a network as sensors, the system continuously monitors the incoming packets, and generates its average behaviors at different time scales including its variances. The average region of behaviors at certain time scale is then being used as the baseline of normal traffic. Deploying the exhaustive search based decission system, the system detects the incoming threats to the whole network under supervision.

Abandoned object detection by genetic algorithm with local search 基于局部搜索的遗传算法的废弃目标检测

In this study, we propose a method in which pictures of security cameras are administered automatically. The administered target is abandoned objects. In case of searching objects with security camera, there are infinitely various sizes and orientations of the object to be searched. Therefore, we propose an object search method which is adapted to transformation of the object. We use a template matching using Genetic Algorithm (GA) for detection of abandoned objects. Moreover, GA is suitable for global problems, but it is not necessarily suitable for local problems. Therefore the local search technique is included to improve GA property. Object search in our proposed method is divided into two parts: global search and local search. In the local search, we use a simple random search. According to experimental results, detection accuracy is relatively good in the global domain search, but the local domain search is no so effective in some images. In future work, we try to improve the local search.

Flux variation of water sample using Helium Neon Laser 用氦氖激光研究水样的通量变化

Flux variation of different type of water samples is evaluated by analysing patterns and flux variations using low power Helium Neon Laser (λ=632.8 nm, 0.95mW) and Encircled Flux Analysis System (EFAS). The flux variation was obtained and the range of flux for each water sample was analysed. This study shows that the flux peak can be a significant parameter to differentiate the type of water. The contour of beam intensity of water sample exhibits different patterns. Thus it leads towards the way as vibrant diagnosis tool to clarify quality and type of water sample.

Creation of a panoramic image by genetic algorithm 通过遗传算法创建全景图像

This paper proposes a way to improve the performance of panoramic image generation by template matching using genetic algorithm (GA). GA is used to efficiently locate a template image for an object one, and can generate a panoramic image with high speed and accuracy than traditional image composition methods. Given x and y coordinates to chromosomes of genetic algorithm, GA carries out an optimization of the coordinates for genetic template matching. The present method detects the coordinates that exceeds a certain threshold value of a fitness function in template matching using luminance values. The template matching is carried out again at 8 vicinities of the coordinates to search an optimal solution. Using the optimal solution to the point that has the highest fitness value, we perform image composition of the template and the object images with respect to the coordinates. We obtained good results for specific images in experiments. However, in the case of other images, matching accuracy was worse by shear and tilt remained after the genetic template matching. It is expected an approach by using feature values improves in accuracy rather than luminance values in the future.

Design of a new user centric home energy management system 以用户为中心的新型家庭能源管理系统的设计

Poor energy management has led to waste of electric power in homes, offices and factories thus leading to higher emission of greenhouse gases. Energy monitoring systems in the past are not enough anymore as they are not capable of adapting to lifestyles of home users. User centricity in energy management is significantly important in order to cater for comfort living. Earlier systems are highly dependent on user interaction; such as periodic monitoring of power consumption, and managing power hungry appliances manually, causing these systems to lose effectiveness in conserving power over time. Integration of appliance recognition into such systems did improve conventional systems but however, still required tedious appliance training by the user. This paper review past researches and propose the development of a new user centric home energy management system based on a framework that will eliminate assisted learning processes to achieve an intuitive power saving platform.

Proposed Wireless sensor network in vehicles for road surveillance 提出了用于道路监控的车载无线传感器网络

Considering wide application of Ultra wide Band (UWB) Wireless sensor networks (WSN) and the need of safety precautions on road due to heavy traffic this paper presents an algorithm design of a proposed radar surveillance system that can be used in vehicles for road surveillance. The system is an extension of UWB intruder localization system which uses one transmitter and three receivers. The algorithm is designed by creating a hybrid of three widely used WSN algorithms Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI), Time of Arrival (ToA) and Angle of Arrival (AoA). RSSI is used for range estimation form receivers while AoA and ToA are used to specify surveillance area for each receiver. Virtual Reference Tags (VRTs) which are previously used in RFID localization systems are also part of our design, to point exact location of intruding vehicle and reduce error. Each VRT has the information of received signal strength and distance from receivers. Also this paper presents a new driver alerting method which is designed on steering wheel of vehicle. This alerting method provides road surveillance information to driver without distracting his attention.

It is difficult for patients with severe physical disabilities to communicate with others, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and serious paraplegia. Owing to the illness in which they lost their limb motor function and language function, they cannot move even their muscles except eye. In order to provide an efficient means of communication for those patients, in this paper we proposed a system that uses EOG-feature based methods and Learning Vector Quantization algorithm to recognize eye motions. According to the recognition results, we use API (application programming interface) to control cursor movements. The recognition part consists of four steps. First, we measure EOG signals by every 1.8 seconds. Next, we make a judge whether eye motion subsists in the 1.8 seconds EOG data, if any, we extract the data of each motion from the 1.8 seconds EOG data. After that we use Fast Fourier Transform to obtain the frequency features of the extracted motion. Finally we use Learning Vector Quantization network and characteristics of EOG features at each motion to recognize eye motions. The LVQ network is trained beforehand. In this paper we recognized motions of rolling eye upward, rolling downward, rolling left, rolling right, blink and diagonal eye motions which contain rolling up-left, rolling up-right, rolling down-left, rolling down-right (the angle of the diagonal motion is 45°) and blink string of three times motion. 8 directions motions correspond to 8 directions cursor movement in this system. We regard blink motion as invalid signal and define blink string motions as double click action. Using this system we have obtained a high recognition accuracy of eye motions (The average correct detection rate on each subject was 97.8%, 97.6% and 92.7%). This EOG Mouse interface would be used as a means of communication to help those patients as ALS.

Driveline modelling analysis for active driveability control 主动驾驶性控制的传动系统建模分析

Modern vehicles require a high degree of refinement, including the driveability, to meet the driver's expectation. Active driveability control is a popular method to improve the drive comfort without impact on acceleration performance. Electric vehicles have more driveability concern in tip-in manoeuver because of less mounting around driveline and less background noise in compartment. It is important to investigate the driveline modelling techniques for development of new control algorithms. This paper presents the analysis of the current driveline modelling methods through comparison simulations in Matlab. A driveline model including the tyre dynamics is developed and its effectiveness has been demonstrated by simulations.

Degradation of thermoplastic elastomeric nanocomposite materials exposed to corona discharge and impact on hydrophobic properties 电晕放电下热塑性弹性体纳米复合材料的降解及对疏水性的影响

The design development and construction of outdoor insulator are based on the requirement to prevent completely-wetted zones. However, insulating materials such as polymer that used in high voltage technology usually exposed to corona discharge. Long term of corona discharge reduce the hydrophobicity and cause the degradation of the insulators. It may increase the leakage current over insulators which may lead to increasingly severe arcing activity and proceed to flashover. Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), a type of rubber-like material is believed to surpass other materials like Silicon Rubber (SIR) and Ethylene Propylene (EP) due to its excellent hydrophobicity characteristic which account for a wide range of insulation applications. This paper presents the experimental results of corona aging studies on hydrophobic properties for different type of TPE nanocomposites. Three nanofillers, i.e. Montmorillonites (MMT), Silicon Dioxide (SiD), and Aluminum Oxide (AO) were used to study the effects. Pointed-plane electrode geometry has been used to create the corona on the samples. The changes of hydrophobic properties of these materials were determined by the contact angle measurement technique. Results attained confirm that the existence of nanofillers in TPE nanocomposite materials affect the hydrophobic characteristic of these insulators before and after the corona discharge exposure in different prospective.
