Biochemical properties of human tonsillar lymphocytes. 人扁桃体淋巴细胞的生化特性。
Pub Date : 1970-01-01 DOI: 10.1159/000274958
P Piffkó, G J Köteles, F Antoni
The lymphocytes isolated from human tonsils have been characterized by biochemical methods. The amounts of ribonucleic acid, deoxyribonucleic acid and protein per cell are given. The cells are able to incorporate 14C-labelled precursors into ribonucleic acid and protein, invitro. Applying the methods mentioned, the biosynthetic capacity of cells obtained from various individuals can be compared.

The cholinergic innervation of the human nasal mucosa. A histochemical study. 人鼻黏膜的胆碱能神经支配。组织化学研究。
Pub Date : 1970-01-01 DOI: 10.1159/000274934
T Ishii
Cholinesterase activity of the human nasal mucosa was demonstrated with a histochemical technique according to Karnovsky and Roots. Rich cholinergic innervation was observed around the arteries and arterioles and a few cholinesterase-positive fibers were detected around the veins. Both serous and mucous glands were encapsulated by many nerve fibers presenting intense cholinesterase activity. The duct of the gland and the epithelial layer failed to show cholinesterase activity. The author’s conclusion is that these positive nerve fibers were peripheral parasympathetic nerve fibers which possibly play a major role in stimulating the secretion of the nasal glands and the dilatation of the blood vessels.

Surface view of the guinea pig otolithic membrane. A scanning electron microscopic observation. 豚鼠耳石膜表面图。扫描电镜观察。
Pub Date : 1970-01-01 DOI: 10.1159/000274926
B Kellerhals, E Marti, W Villiger
Providing direct three-dimensional visualization, scanning electron microscopy gives more detailed information about shape, surface and arrangement pattern of the statoconia than all previous methods. Scanning electron microscopic surface views of the guinea pig otolithic membrane are presented, and the relevance of the results is discussed with respect to functional problems and to questions concerning the formation of the statoconia crystals.
