Objective: To determine the effect of the T2 Fast Spin Echo Fat Saturation (T2 FSE FAT SAT) sequence and T2 Multiple Echo Data Imaging Combination (T2 MEDIC) sequence on ankle images MRI. Methodology: The sequence variations were T2 FSE FAT SAT and T2 MEDIC. The effect of the sequence on the quality of the MRI ankle image was analyzed on the image of one patient and the sound intensity value through a sound level meter. Result: Data analysis was carried out quantitatively with the Region of Interest (ROI) method directly on the computer image of the MRI, then SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) and CNR (Contras to Noise Ratio) analysis were carried out, and PSNR and MSE analysis was carried out through digital image processing to determine the value magnitudes. The highest SNR and CNR were found in the T2 MEDIC sequence. The lowest acoustic noise value is in the T2 MEDIC sequence. The differences in the physical mechanism of image formation are T2 FSE FAT SAT refocusing 180º RF and T2 MEDIC refocusing gradient fields. Conclusion: Because the SNR and CNR on T2 MEDIC are higher and the value of the sound intensity level is low, it can be said that the sequence provides optimal results and low acoustic noise.

Objectives: To find the association of baseline body mass index (BMI) with other variables such as age, height, and gender in short stature due to idiopathic growth hormone deficiency (IGHD). Methodology: This cross-sectional retrospective study included short-stature children due to growth hormone deficiency (GHD) referred to Endocrine Gland and Diabetes Center at Al-Rusafa district, Baghdad from June 2017 to June 2018. The collected data includes weight, height, gender, age, nutritional status and BMI-SDS (body mass index-standard deviation score). The BMI SDS was divided in three categories: underweight, normal weight, and overweight. Height was divided in three categories based on height standard deviation score (HSDS) for age and gender, very low height, low height, and middle height. Age was divided into childhood onset and adolescent onset. Results: Out of 280 patients with IGHD, the baseline BMI SDS was mainly underweighted (88.9%), then normal (9.6 %) and (1.4%) overweight patients. Childhood-onset were 142 (50.7%), most of them underweight (96.47 %), while 138 (49.3%) patients were in adolescents and most of them was underweight (81%). The relationship between gender and BMI showed high prevalence of being underweight in males (n=142) than in females (n=102). Conclusion: Association between the baseline BMI and height was significant. There was a high prevalence of underweight (88.9%), in children and adolescents with short stature due to IGHD.

Objective: To compare two positioning approaches in the surgical treatment of unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures fixed by proximal femoral nailing, the supine versus lateral decubitus position Methodology: This randomized prospective comparative study on 26 patients with unstable intertrochanteric fractures was carried out from January 2020 and June 2022. We randomly divided patients into two groups: group A (13 patients) were operated using the traction table in the supine position for implant insertion, and group B (13 patients) were operated using the lateral decubitus position. We compared both groups regarding the setup time, operative time, tip-to-apex distance, collodiaphyseal angle, time for fluoroscopic time exposure, and radiologic reduction of the fracture using Chang criteria. Results: The setup, fluoroscopic exposure, and surgical times were shorter in the lateral decubitus group with statistical significance. The collodiaphyseal angles, the tip-to-apex distance, and the radiological fracture reduction were not significantly different between two groups. Conclusions: The lateral decubitus positioning is superior to the supine position in setup, fluoroscopic exposure, and surgical times
