User-Centered Design of e-Learning User Interfaces: A Survey of the Practices 以用户为中心的电子学习用户界面设计:实践综述

Designing an effective user interface (UI) of e-Learning system that has excellent usability is a crucial activity in e-Learning development. Nowadays, user-centered design (UCD) is a popular method used for developing the user interfaces of e-Learning systems and modules. This systematic literature review offers a helicopter view of the state-of-the-art applications of UCD for designing the UI of e-Learning systems. This study reviewed 17 works of literature from 2015 until early 2020 to identify how research in the development of e-Learning system applied UCD and its impacts on the usability of the developed systems. This study found that many e-Learning system development projects applied UCD differently in terms of methods and user involvement. The most popular methods integrated with the UCD are questionnaires, interviews, high-fidelity prototyping, and usability testing. The study also found that some of the projects that used UCD with involving the users in multiple phases produced a design with good usability. Furthermore, this study suggests that both learners and subject matter experts should be involved in the design process of e-Learning system to acquire both excellent UI and effective learning process.

Thyroid Nodules Stratification Based on Orientation Characteristics Using Machine Learning Approach 基于取向特征的甲状腺结节分层机器学习方法

Patients with thyroid nodules should undergo further assessment to define malignancy stratification. One of the assessments is conducted using ultrasound. There are ten characteristics of thyroid nodules in the ultrasound examination. One of the characteristics is orientation. The orientation characteristic has its perks as it can tell the malignancy state from the growth direction to the orientation category. This study develops an approach to determine the stratification of the thyroid nodules based on orientation characteristics. The proposed approach consists of pre-processing, segmentation, feature extraction, and classification by using a support vector machine. Nine geometrical and moment features are used to describe orientation characteristics. Furthermore, the features are trained to differentiate two classes, namely are parallel and non-parallel. The testing results achieve more than 0.98 for accuracy, sensitivity, and NPV, respectively, while specificity and PPV achieve a perfect score. Looking by the results, it can be concluded that the proposed method has a good performance in differentiating orientation characteristics into a parallel and non-parallel category.

Designing IoT-Based Independent Pulse Oximetry Kit as an Early Detection Tool for Covid-19 Symptoms 设计基于物联网的独立脉搏血氧仪作为Covid-19症状早期检测工具

The increasing positive confirmed patients Covid-19 in Indonesia especially in Banyuwangi showed how serious the outbreak of this virus. Based on data obtained from news, mass media, and surveys in health facilities (Faskes) in Banyuwangi, most hospitals appointed to treat patients with symptoms Covid-19 have not been able to provide adequate rapid test equipment for early detection independently to the patient. Similarly, a person who is conducting quarantine from the Covid-19 is either quarantined in the hospital as a patient in supervision, a positive patient, or a self-imposed quarantine in the home as a supervising person who, because it has just traveled from the red zone area Covid-19 requires an infectious risk assessment Not all people infected with Covid-19 show their symptoms within a few days, can also be felt after 10-14 days or even more, or even show no symptoms at all. However, a person who does not experience the symptoms of Covid-19 is at risk of being a carrier that can transmit to another person. The symptoms for a person who is indicative of Covid-19 one of them is shortness of breath, abnormal heartbeat, and abnormalities in lung function similar to the symptoms of pneumonia. Indications of the symptoms shown indicate that the soluble O2 levels in the blood in the person’s body are abnormal. The O2 level in the normal blood vessel is 75-100 mmHg, which means if the O2 level is below normal indicating a person needs additional O2, and if it exceeds it will damage the cells of the lungs. In the case of Covid-19, a person will exhibit symptoms similar to health disorders especially similar to asthma and pneumonia. So, in this study, the main focus was on the development of tools used to measure the level of dissolved O2 in the blood carried out with the help of the medical personnel and carried out independently. The implementation of the Pulse Oximetry Kit has been developed and used extensively in the health world. However, the latest Pulse Oximetry Kit does not yet have a system that can be monitored in real time and record the measurement results according to the needs of management of Covid-19 patients. Therefore, this research will be focused on the development of pulse oximetry kits by utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) technology as tools that can be used to perform remote monitoring of covid-19 patients through smartphones with regard to physical and social distancing protocols. The design and development of portable pulse oximetry kit products that are equipped with GPS and its integration with IoT technology that is mass production is the main focus on this research

Implementation of Organization Goal-Oriented Requirements Engineering (OGORE) Method in Designing a Muhammadiyah High School Library Information System 组织目标导向需求工程(OGORE)方法在Muhammadiyah高中图书馆信息系统设计中的应用

The use of information systems in an organization has become an obligation to support the organization’s business process. However, the development of an Information System still often faces problems, the most important problem occurs in the requirements engineering phase where developers try to meet user needs, these problems can also increase when user needs are not following the standards in general. The objective of this research is to design a digital library information system based on the organization goal-oriented requirements engineering (OGORE) method. OGORE is a Requirements Engineering method that focuses on organizational needs and is expected to eliminate the (noise) needs of users. The OGORE method has been used since its goal is to reduce the risks that arise because of user needs based on personal desires. The Development Method used is the Extreme Programming (XP) method. Data collection methods used were observation, interview, and literature study. With OGORE method, the results of a Library Information System can fulfil all the vision and mission of the library.

The usage of images or visuals to deliver information on digital products especially on mobile platforms has been widely used. Besides, it being able to attract users, the use of visual images and animated images can increase the brand, increase the trust ratio and strengthen user retention from the user. Various applications made by giant startup companies such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, and others, use visual or animation to deliver their product knowledge with “onboarding screen” or also called “walkthrough animation”. Animation is also used in some interactions to application user experience. For example, “love fireworks animation” when we do the action with like button on Twitter application. Lottie is the latest framework that was created by AirBNB company, which is an open source framework that is used to parse or convert from motion (motion graphic) vector graphics to output in JSON (JavaScript Notation Objects) file type. In its use, the Lottie framework is combined with the Bodymovin plugin that must be installed on the Adobe After Effect application. In this case, researchers want to compare the device resources usage by CPU, RAM, GPU and other performance parameters on applications that use and consumed Lottie assets in their onboarding between applications that used other motion graphic assets (APNG and GIF) on android applications. Also, researcher want to give suggest for developer, especially android mobile developer by the quantitative comparison result of type asset that use for improve their apps UI/UX. For the goal is make powerfull application interface and application experience with also inclusive powerful performance for every smartphone.

Survey of Fairness in Machine Learning for Indonesian General Election Research 印尼大选研究中机器学习公平性调查

Machine Learning is one of the popular fields of scientific research at the moment. Fairness is one of the trust parameters in machine learning research. Machine Learning principle is to remove human biases in providing assessment. Therefore, we conducted a survey using Google Scholar to find out the fairness of Machine Learning research about Indonesian General Election 2019. First, we collect all Machine Learning research related to topics. Then, we made the selection to ensure the research meets up criteria. The main criteria in this study are data collection and data set selection process. Our study finds out that the current state of fairness in machine learning research related to the topic is shallow. Most of the studies almost have no transparency in data collection, and final data set being selected.

Overhead Analysis of the Use of Digital Signature in MQTT Protocol for Constrained Device in the Internet of Things System

This paper presents an overhead analysis of the use of digital signature mechanisms in the Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol for three classes of constrained-device. Because the resources provided by constrained-devices are very limited, the purpose of this overhead analysis is to help find out the advantages and disadvantages of each class of constrained-devices after a security mechanism has been applied, namely by applying a digital signature mechanism. The objective of using this digital signature mechanism is for providing integrity, that if the payload sent and received in its destination is still original and not changed during the transmission process. The overhead analysis aspects performed are including analyzing decryption time, signature verification performance, message delivery time, memory and flash usage in the three classes of constrained-device. Based on the overhead analysis result, it can be seen that for decryption time and signature verification performance, the Class-2 device is the fastest one. For message delivery time, the smallest time needed for receiving the payload is Class-l device. For memory usage, the Class-2 device is providing the biggest available memory and flash.

Analysing IT Governance Maturity Level using COBIT 2019 Framework: A Case Study of Small Size Higher Education Institute (XYZ-edu) 基于COBIT 2019框架的IT治理成熟度分析——以小型高等教育学院为例

The rise of online learning has made information technology (IT) as an essential part of every educational institution. IT enabled business initiatives and requires major investments that, if not managed properly, may impair rather than improve the organization’s performance. IT governance in educational institution in the current pandemic era is needed to actualize digital transformations that are safe, effective and accountable. This research explores the use of COBIT 2019, an IT governance framework, to evaluate the maturity of selected IT process in a small higher education institution located in Depok. The data collected using the combination of interviews, questionnaires, and document studies. The results of this study indicate the level of maturity of the organization is at level 0 (incomplete), while the target level is 2. Recommendations for improvement processes are made in reference to best practices at COBIT 2019 to help achieving the target.

Covid-19 is a pandemic that has attacked almost all countries in the world. Until present, the positive confirmed continues to increase. Many countries are locking down, public service offices are closed, many companies are closing down, which has a significant impact on the economy. Many companies implement work from home. In this case, information and communication technology support is crucial. The information and communication technology development has led to the emergence of telecommuting, virtual/digital office, and virtual enterprise concepts which is very suitable to be applied in this pandemic era. One of the ways to maintain the effectiveness of working from home is to build a virtual office application. Through this application, the company can provide online services to its customers/clients. The prototype of this application is developed using the prototyping method for an organization. The result is a prototype virtual office that has several features to serve customers. This application is very helpful for organizations to carry out business operations.
