Johnstone's Levels of Representation in Science Learning 约翰斯通的科学学习中的表征层次

Science education, beginning in elementary and junior high schools, should be able to meet the demand for grasping the notion of science. Junior high school science learning is an integrated science learning that comprises three branches, namely biology, physics, and chemistry. Understanding chemistry as a whole, which comprises three levels of representation, namely macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic, is what learning chemistry entails. The purpose of this article is to review the literature on the three levels of representation theory and the relationship between the three levels of representation in learning. Johnstone's levels of representation have an impact on science learning by encouraging integration across multiple representation. This qualitative research is library research with books and other literature as the main object, such as scientific journals and scientific articles. The term represents has several meanings, including to symbolize, to recall thoughts through images or imagination, and to provide a depiction. Levels of representation refer to the use of three levels of representation to represent a phenomenon. The three levels of representation, namely the macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic levels, are interconnected and contribute to students' ability to understand and comprehend abstract chemistry.

IMPROVING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT’S CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY THROUGH DIGITAL MEDIA ASSISTED BY LECTORA INSPIRE ON LIGHTWAVE MATERIAL 以光波材料为启发,借助数字媒体提高高中生的批判性思维能力

This research is motivated by the critical thinking abilities of senior high school (SMA) students who are low in several regions in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of digital media assisted by Lectora inspire on the critical thinking skills of eleven-grade students on light waves. The study was conducted at SMA N 25 Central Jakarta for four weeks in April 2021 with a sample of 72 students. The sample was selected with purposive sampling, which consisted of 36 students in the first eleventh-grade science class (control group) and 36 students in the second science class (experimental group). The research method used is quasi-experiment with the research design of nonequivalent control groups. The results of the posttest hypothesis test through the Mann Whitney U test with a significance level of 5% were obtained by sig. Value (2-tailed) 0.001. The zero hypothesis is rejected (Lectora inspires the influence of media on student critical thinking skills). Critical Thinking Ability Students Experimental Group increased higher (n-gain 0.5 middle category) than the control group (N-gain 0.06 low categories). Students respond very well (83%) to this lesson. Application of Inspire Lectora learning media has an impact on improving student critical thinking skills.

Implementasi Teori Kognitif Sosial Bandura sebagai Upaya Pengembangan Fungsi dan Peran Sekolah 班杜拉社会认知理论的实施是学校职能和角色发展的努力

Sekolah memegang peranan penting dalam hal memberdayakan peserta didik sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat. Penyiapan lingkungan pembelajaran yang tepat berdampak pada situasi pembelajaran. Pembelajaran bermakna menjadikan peserta didik akan lebih mudah dalam mempelajari beragam jenis kemampuan baik pada ranah afektif, kognitif, maupun psikomotorik. Ketercapaian prestasi belajar peserta didik yang optimal secara tidak langsung akan meningkatkan fungsi dan peran sekolah dalam menjalankan tugas dan tanggungjawabnya terhadap masyarakat. Guru memiliki keleluasaan dalam menetapkan paradigma pembelajaran dengan tetap mengacu pada kurikulum. Salah satu paradigma pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan adalah melalui implementasi teori kognitif sosial Bandura. Terdapat tiga komponen yang menjadi fokus perhatian, yaitu: (1) lingkungan yang memberi stimulus; (2) proses kognitif dalam diri peserta didik; serta (3) modifikasi perilaku. Implementasi teori kognitif sosial bandura dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa cara, yaitu: (1) penyiapan profil kepemimpinan guru sebagai model; (2) penyerapan kultur lokal sebagai basis perilaku model; (3) penciptaan iklim pembelajaran kolaboratif; (4) penguatan self-efficacy, serta (5) penguatan karakter melalui habituasi. Inti dari teori kognitif sosial Bandura adalah penyediaan sumber-sumber perilaku model baik oleh guru maupun peserta didik.
