Studying Pastoral Theology in an Ecumenical Context 在大公合一的背景下研究教牧神学

Abstract In this article we examine some of the helpful and less helpful features of a particular MA module in pastoral theology, taught in an ecumenical context, and raise some issues about ecumenical theological education and some issues about the nature of pastoral theology. Our experience and reflections support the view that ecumenical encounter is vital, but it is less helpful than it could be if it is not supported by explicit attention to and reflection on how that ecumenical encounter is happening and how we might all best learn from it. They further support the view that the discipline of pastoral/practical theology will be attenuated and unnecessarily exclusive if it does not pay attention to the fullest possible range of historical context, subject mater, methodology and epistemology.

Abstract This paper presents the methodology of a study designed to explore how the event of parenthood affects adult perceptions of faith journey, especially as lived out through their involvement and experience with a community of faith. The study included twelve new parents in six different Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) Lutheran congregations and listened for how they experienced parenthood in terms of religious experience and if they perceived the congregation to have a role in this experience. This grounded theory study sought to explore if and/or how becoming a parent enriches the faith life of a person, as well as if and/or how this event affects a parent's involvement and experience with a community of faith.

Keeping Faith Alive in Communist East Germany: A Case Study in Practical Theological Education 保持信仰在共产主义东德:实践神学教育的个案研究

Abstract The Protestants in Communist East Germany who strove to bring about the reform of the state were upheld by a theology that was rooted in Dietrich Bonhoeffer's vision of a "church for others" in the midst of the world. The intimate and dialectical interconnection they made between their faith and their practice in daily life gave them the courage to stand by the truth amidst the deceptions on which the "real existing socialism" of the regime rested. Believing that there is nowhere where the transforming love of God is not to be found and nurtured by theological education about and through practice, members of the church played a prophetic role that significantly helped to enable the growth of the protest movement of the 1980s.
