In this paper, a miniaturized rat race coupler with stub loaded transmission lines is proposed to operate at WLAN 1 frequency i.e., 2.4 GHz. A comparative analysis has been made by replacing the conventional quarter wavelength transmission lines by stub loaded transmission lines. The proposed model has been designed on RT Duroid /5880 substrate and simulated using AWR Design Environment. Subsequent harmonics in the conventional rat race coupler are suppressed by reducing the electrical length less than 450. Simulation results of the designed coupler agrees well with the theoretical design.

Transmit diversity is created in the regular cooperative diversity (RCD) networks when the selected nodes assist the source by relaying its information signal to the destination using orthogonal channels to avoid co-channel interference. This decomposition is necessary because practical limitations in radio implementation prevent the relay from simultaneously transmitting and receiving on the same channel. K relays in RCD require K+1 channels which shows that as the number of relays increases the number of required channels increases linearly. This increase in channels gives fundamental drawback in all cooperative diversity networks. So if this problem is not addressed the cooperative diversity networks will lose attractiveness for high data rate, high efficiency communications. In this paper this problem is addressed tried to find a solution. The performance of the best-relay selection scheme will be examined in which only the “best” relay takes part in relaying, therefore only two channels take part in transmission regardless of the number of relays. The relay node that gives the highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the destination node is considered to be the best relay. A general mathematic probability model is presented and examined the performance of best-relay selection using amplify and forward (AF) scheme.

WSN has collection of sensor nodes, generally these sensor nodes tiny in size, less power and less cost and multifunctional in nature. Different routing protocols aim is to optimize lifetime and energy of the sensor networks. A lot of routing protocol in wireless sensor network also current senerio dependent, which gives the plateform to develop variety of protocol, Basically according to the communication energy is broadly classified into two types 1. Direct Approach and 2. Hierarchical Approach. Wireless sensor network have architecture copout between energy and communication overhead i.e the backbone of routing technique. In this paper we explained different type of protocols and a different senerio in the wsn.

This paper provide an overview of behaviour of transition mechanisms, with and without VPN Protocols. Performance metrics related to networks have been gathered from test-bed implementations. The two transition mechanisms we will be evaluating are 4to6 and 6to4. Both of these mechanism have certain advantages and disadvantages. VPN protocols, PPTP and IPsec were configured on the transition mechanism and compared with selected networking metrics. The key networking metrics that were captured in this research were through-put, delay, jitter, DNS throughput, DNS delay, DNS jitter, for both TCP and UDP protocols. VoIP throughput was also measured and discussed. The testbed consisted of two (IPv4/IPv6) capable Cisco routers, and two machines which were running Windows 7 and Windows Server 2012.

In this paper, a simple hybrid radio-over fiber network that can transmit a different quadrature amplitude modulated (QAM) signals simultaneously over a 50-km fiber link is investigated. Simulation results indicate that a maximum of 162 Mbps-64QAM and 108 Mbps-16QAM signals can be sent simultaneously using Optical Single Side Band (OSSB) generation technique without any dispersion compensation. The proposed dual carrier multiplexing (DCM) architecture may be used for the multi-service transmission in heterogeneous networks. In presence of centralized control and processing, subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) techniques over fiber may provide economical and protocol-transparent solutions for the next-generation hybrid networks.

In the era of wireless communication, almost every other person uses a smartphone not only for traditional calling, but for multiple services. Wi-Fi based services have been on rise, and Wi-Fi signals are omnipresent nowadays. Exploiting the feature of Wi-Fi signal detection from android smartphones, we built an app for user positioning in indoor environment. For testing purposes, we use pre-installed Wi-Fi access points and Beacon devices based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology in our department for indoor positioning at the department. Using the classical RSSI based trilateration algorithm, we improved upon the location estimation using gradient descent over error function. We then analyze the results of location estimation with actual measurement of distances.

Analog switches are mounted on the walls. To operate them the user needs to physically press the switch to turn ON or OFF any appliance. This hassle of manually operating a switch is replaced by a smart technique which involves operating the switches using the web browser present in mobile phones, laptops or any other electronic gadgets. Smart switches already exist in the market today, but are very expensive and requires additional devices like hubs for their working. The current work makes use of a web App and a cloud to control the operation of the switches. A cloud server is created for the environment where the switches are mounted. The switches are interfaced with few electronic components such as logic gates, a 555 timer, flip-flops and a processor. The user communicates with the processor through the Web App. The processor then controls the switches based on the commands received from the user and also updates the user about the status of the switches after the control operation is performed to the cloud.

The paper presents an idea on the development of collinear type of antenna. We intend to provide an original two antenna architecture. The ground plane is taken as dimension 100×100×1.5 mm3 whereas the metal plate has dimension 16.7×1.5×110.5 mm3. The main goal of the article is a comparison of directivity and bandwidth of the proposed antennas. In our analysis, the method of moments (MoM) is used to compute the current distribution and directivity of the yagi antenna. Microstrip technology is used for planar collinear monopole antenna and simulation with ground plane has been performed using Ansoft HFSS 3D simulator. Simulated prototypes have been realized and measured. This class of antenna can be very useful for locationing applications.

In our current tourism system, whenever a tourist visits a monument or a famous spot, to know more about the place, he/she hires a guide. With the advancement in the technology, the role of the guide is being taken up by the different services and applications. The increase in the use of mobile phones has made it easier to provide different applications available to the tourists `on the go'. In this project, we are making an android based mobile application that can be used as a guide by the tourists. The main function of this application is to recognize a monument or a famous spot from the picture clicked/uploaded by the user and to provide detailed information regarding it. This is achieved by using open-cv for image recognition. It then displays the information that is associated with that monument. The information is available in the JSON database. It will also be able to point the location of that monument on the map.

In this way a more secure way will be provided to users for granting access to an authenticated system.
