Optimal Site Selection for Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant in North Eastern State of India using Hybrid MCDM Tools 基于混合MCDM工具的印度东北部太阳能光伏电站最优选址

As society develops, the demand for energy also increases. Most of world's energy requirements are fulfilled using fossil fuels or other types of non-renewable resources, which are polluting the environment, but also depleting. For this reason, the Government of India and the Government of Sikkim (North Eastern State of India) are working on policies to promote investment in solar photovoltaic (PV) plants and has plans to use it to meet the growing energy demand without causing damage to the environment. To make the best use of solar PV cells on commercial scale, it is necessary to know how to optimize the output of the PV power plant, and the most important factor is the selection of the land or the area on which the PV power plant is to be set up. There are multiple factors one must take into consideration for better output. In this study, focus has been put on geographical and meteorological factors that affect the output of the PV cells. Multi criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques have been used for selection of best site for PV power plant.

Visible Light Communication System for Indoor Positioning Using Solar Cell as Receiver 以太阳能电池为接收器的室内可见光通信定位系统

This article studies an indoor positioning system (IPS) based on visible light communication (VLC) using the solar cells as optical receivers. Due to the solar cell characteristics, the proposed system offers simultaneously communication and energy gathering. The current - voltage (I-V) and power - resistor (P-R) curves of solar cell under visible light is studied. The frequency response is investigated. The effect of solar irradiance interference on the VLC-based indoor positioning system (VLC-IPS) efficiency is also shown. A trilateration technique is used for estimating receiver's location. The obtained results show that the proposed system can simultaneously receive data and collect energy and it provides a suitable positioning accuracy with an average position error less than 3cm. The studied system can be considered an eco-friendly and promising technology.

Security Constrained Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch Using Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization and Differential Evolution 基于混合粒子群优化和差分进化的安全约束无功优化调度

The optimal operation of a power system in both normal and contingency cases has a significant role in the power system operation. To guarantee a system to operate securely in both cases, the most severed case should be included in the optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) problem. The objective of the SCORPD problem is to solve the ORPD problem in both normal and contingency cases so that the total power loss, stability index, or voltage deviation is the system is minimized satisfying all unit and network constraints. In this article, a hybrid particle swarm optimization and differential evolution (HPSO-DE) is proposed to solve this SCORPD problem. The proposed method is a combination of PSO and DE methods to utilize their advantages so that the search ability of the method can be enhanced. The proposed method has been implemented on the IEEE 30-bus system for different objectives with different scenarios. The obtained results have been indicated that the proposed HPSO-DE method can be very effective for dealing with the complex and large-scale SCORPD problem

Comparative Study of Two Different Converters with its Controller for Grid Connected WECS with PMSG 两种变换器及其控制器在PMSG并网WECS中的比较研究

Wind is a source for generating clean and economical electrical energy with a proper harnessing mechanism. For a wind energy conversion system (WECS), maximum power extraction with optimum power quality is required. In this article, the grid power quality is enhanced, using a multilevel inverter which provides smoother and pure sinusoidal waves as compared to two-level inverter by decreasing total harmonic distortion (THD) in WECS with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). Also, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is based on an optimal torque controller, employed to extract more power. In this study, a WECS with a PMSG connected to the local linear resistive load and grid is considered for simulation. A multilevel inverter grid interface is controlled by in phase disposition pulse width modulation (IPD – PWM). The multilevel inverter with MPPT has been acknowledged as superior to a normal two-level inverter without MPPT Controller. Simulation results as observed for fixed and variable wind speed including MPPT demonstrate benefits of the proposed method.

A New Central Control Scheme for Future Micro-Grid Systems Considering Variable Speed Drive Systems and Fuzzy Logic Control System 考虑变速驱动系统和模糊逻辑控制系统的未来微电网集中控制新方案

The increased use of nonlinear loads in power systems have caused problems with the quality of electrical power systems, which affects its performance. One of the most important nonlinear loads is variable speed drive systems (VSDS) which causes issues to the industrial plants power supply. In this article, the authors compare different control methods to apply the bias voltages required to operate transistors in the four-quadrant chopper which added to the dc- link of the variable-speed drive system in order to improve power quality, considering future micro-grid systems. A selection is then made of the appropriate one that improves power quality specifications. This article discusses the issues related to VSDS, such as total harmonic distortion factor THD%; the ripple factor of the DC current and voltage of the VSDS; and its harmful effects on the power system.

Solution of Non-Smooth Economic Dispatch Using Interactive Grouped Adaptive Bat Algorithm: Solving Practical Economic Dispatch 用交互式分组自适应Bat算法求解非光滑经济调度问题:求解实际经济调度问题

This article presents the application of new grouped adaptive Bat algorithm (GABA) based metaheuristic method to improve the solution of economic dispatch (ED) problem considering valve point effect, prohibited zones, ramp rate limits and total power loss. The Bat algorithm is a new swarm intelligence algorithm inspired by the echolocation phenomenon in bats. The Bat algorithm is easy to program, and like many metaheuristic methods has an exploration and exploitation phases which require fine adjustment to achieve the near global solution. A grouped search mechanism is introduced to enhance the performances of the original Bat algorithm. The robustness of the proposed algorithm in term of solution quality and convergence characteristic have been demonstrated of three test systems of various complexities 6 units considering simultaneously the prohibited zones, ramp rate limits and total power loss, 13 and 40 units considering valve point effect. Results show clearly the efficiency and superiority of the proposed algorithm compared with various techniques reported in the recent literature.

Robust Economic Dispatch of Microgrid With Highly Penetrated Renewables and Energy Storage System 高渗透可再生能源和储能系统微电网的稳健经济调度

Economic dispatch (ED) of a grid-connected and renewable integrated microgrid is considered in this article. Here, the renewable energy sources (RES) taken into consideration are wind farms. A parameter worst-case-transaction-cost which arises due to the stochastic availability and uncontrollable nature of wind farms is also emphasised and efforts have been taken to minimize it too. Hence, the article focuses on separately optimizing the generation costs and the worst-case transaction costs. It also optimises the net microgrid cost as a whole, which is the summation of generation costs and the worst-case transaction costs. Two different cases with highly varying transaction prices are studied. Various types of loads, ramp rates of generators, charging and discharging limits of the batteries are taken into consideration while minimizing the microgrid cost. Four meta-heuristic soft computing algorithms are applied for optimization and a comparative analysis among them is studied. Numerical results are tabulated to justify the effectiveness of the novel approach.

Optimal Design of Modified Power System Stabilizer Using Multi Objective Based Bio Inspired Algorithms 基于多目标生物算法的改进型电力系统稳定器优化设计

In this article, a multi objective and a novel objective based Power System Stabilizer (PSS) design is proposed for a modified Heffron - Philiphs model (MHP) using bio inspired algorithms. A conventional Heffron – Philphs (CHP) model is developed by taking infinite bus voltage as reference, whereas MHP model is developed by taking transformer high voltage bus voltage as reference, which makes independent of external system data for the PSS design. PSS parameters are optimized using differential evolution (DE) algorithm and Firefly (FF) algorithm to obtain better dynamic response. The proposed method is tested on various operating conditions under different typical disturbances to test efficacy and robustness. Simulation results prove that better dynamic performance is obtained with the proposed stabilizers over the fixed gain stabilizers. This method of tuning would become a better alternative to conventional stabilizers as conventional stabilizers require retuning of parameters mostly when operating condition changes, which is a time-consuming process and laborious. Eigen value analysis is also done to prove the efficacy of the proposed method over the conventional methods.

Power Flow Investigation Using Cubic Spline Function a Case Study 用三次样条函数研究潮流——以实例为例

This article presents an approach using cubic spline function to study Load Flow with a view to acquiring a reliable convergence in the Bus System. The solution of the power flow is one of the extreme problems in Electrical Power Systems. The prime objective of power flow analysis is to find the magnitude and phase angle of voltage at each bus. Conventional methods for solving the load flow problems are iterative in nature, and are computed using the Newton-Raphson, Gauss-Seidel and Fast Decoupled method. To build this method, this paper used cubic spline function. This approach can be considered as a ‘two stage' iterative method. To accredit the proposed method load flow study is carried out in IEEE-30 bus systems.

An Experimental Insulation Testing Investigation of 210 MW Generator: A Case of Thermal Power Station Jamshoro 210 MW发电机绝缘试验研究——以Jamshoro火电厂为例

This article describes how a drastic failure of a machine is caused by insulation collapse which results heavy interruption as well as losses. The stable operation of a generator mainly depends upon the stator winding insulation. In past, various testing and repairing techniques have been applied in order to analyze the insulation life. However, in this context, a complete stator windings insulation analysis have been carried out by testing and monitoring techniques such as insulation resistance, di-electric absorption ratio, polarization index before repair and after rehabilitation work, ac & dc high voltage, dc resistance test of winding coils, as well as surface potential test, no-load test and short circuit test. It basically reflected the insulation life of stator winding and helped to take remedial measures. This research techniques will pave the way to overcome such failure in machine and recommended the interval based tests for safety purpose.
