Penelitian ini pada dasarnya bertujuan mendeskripsikan ekspresi idealis pemeran utama dalam novel Tuhan, Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur karya Muhidin M. Dahlan. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif dengan menerapkan metode deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian yakni novel Tuhan, Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur karya Muhidin M. Dahlan, dengan data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, kalimat dan pernyataan yang ekspresi idealis. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan teknik baca secara intensif dan sistem penandaan. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah teknik hermeneutika. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekspresi idealis pemeran utama dalam novel Tuhan, Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur karya Muhidin M. Dahlan mencakup (1) ambisius, (2) teguh pada pendirian, dan (3) optimisme. Penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan, baik secara teoretis maupun praktis. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini dapat mengembangkan teori-teori sastra khususnya sastra Indonesia. Secara praktis, penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan bagi peneliti, guru, dan mahasiswa sebagai referensi dan rujukan untuk penelitian selanjutnya.

The aim of this research is to analyze one of Rumi's poetries entitled "Cinta dalam Kefanaan" which was translated by Abdul Hadi. Poetry will be analyzed based on a semiotic approach, which is to determine the style of language used in Rumi's poetry, especially the language that shows symbols of love. The poetry "Cinta dalam Kefanaan" is one of Rumi's poetry filled with the language of love. Rumi was completely immersed in his newfound love. The result shows that Rumi used a symbolic and romantic image of the search for a lost beloved. Love is made aware of the presence of the Master. Rumi's life story shows us that the longing and emptiness we feel because of losing love is a reflection of a longing for God, who is ultimately a manifestation of compassion found in his own soul.

In spite of its importance, writing seems always be a challenging skill for students to master in learning English. Persuading the teachers to persistently try different teaching techniques to reach the goal of teaching better writing is a must. Using roundtable technique become one of the choices. As this experimental study has proven that using roundtable technique give significant effect on the students’ writing ability. Toward the 42 students taken as the sample of the research, it is proved that there was significant difference on the students’ writing ability before (M=54.48, SD=13.155) and after being taught by using roundtable technique (M=73.9, SD=7.569), t(20)=13.55, P<0.0005. The results of independent sample t-test also shows that there is significant difference in writing ability between the students taught by using roundtable technique (M=73.9, SD=7.569) and those who were not (M=64.86, SD= 15.32), t(29)=2.426, P<0.05

This study aims to find out the forms of directive speech acts that exist in the reader's voice in the Mang Sripo Report rubric of the Sriwijaya Post newspaper. Data analysis was carried out in research since the data collection process. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the form of directive speech acts contained in the Mang Sripo Report Rubric: the voices of readers of the Sriwijaya Post newspaper which the author found had twelve data consisting of the form of asking for seven utterances; ask as many as four utterances, and prohibit as many as one utterances; Of the three forms that have been found, the form that is most commonly found in the form of asking.

Abstrak Latar belakang penelitian ini untuk memberikan pemahaman terhadap nilai-nilai sosial yang ada dalam kumpulan Cerita Rakyat Bangka Belitung kepada pembaca agar dijadikan rujukan dan mengenalkan kembali cerita rakyat di masa modern ini kepada pembaca. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah nilai-nilai sosial apa saja yang terkandung dalam kumpulan cerita rakyat Bangka Belitung? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai sosial yang terkandung dalam kumpulan cerita rakyat Bangka Belitung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif adalah metode penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan secara utuh dan mendalam tentang realitas sosial dan berbagai fenomena yang terjadi dimasyarakat yang menjadi subjek penelitian sehingga tergambarkan ciri, karakter, sifat, dan model dari fenomena tersebut. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan sosiologi sastra, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis karya. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) Nilai kasih sayang yang terdiri dari: pengabdian, tolong menolong, kekeluargaan, kesetiaan, dan kepedulian. 2) Nilai tanggung jawab yang terdiri dari:rasa memiliki, disiplin, dan empati. 3) Nilai keserasian hidup yang terdiri dari: keadilan, toleransi, kerja sama, dan demokrasi. Buku Cerita Rakyat Bangka Belitung karya Maulana Syamsuri sangat baik untuk dibaca bagi masyarakat, karena di dalam buku ini banyak mengajarkan nilai-nilai sosial yang baik untuk dijadikan contoh. This study investigated the improvement of students literary analysis by using taxonomy Blooms critical thinking questions. Action research was conducted for this research to the sixth semester students of English literature study program at Universitas Bina Darma. They are 5 male students and 10 female students. The action research was conducted for 12 meetings. On the first cycle, it consisted planning, action, observation and reflection. The assesment for the success criteria scored from a literary analysis rubric with scale poor, fair and good. During this cycle, the students only achieved mostly to poor level of literary analysis in their writing. After doing some revision and evaluation on the second cycle, it also included, replanning, action, observation and the reflection. In this cycle, the result shows most students succeeded to improve their literary analysis to the fair level and 2 students were in good level with some notes. Although, some students perhaps need more time and practises to achieved a good skill.

Abstract: The phonological system is a language system used by a society to distinguish itself from other societies. Bangka language is part of Malay cluster. This paper was written to describe Bangka language phonological system in Mentok dialect used in Pusuk based on (1) vowels, (2) consonant system, (3) diphthong, (4) distributions of vowels, consonants, and diphthongs, and (5) phonemic principle. The method used in this research was qualitative method. The data in this study was 248 basic vocabularies of Swadesh-based UnCen-SIL Wordlist. The data was collected with basic technique “conversation technique”, followed by “noting and recording technique”. The finding of Bangka language phonological system in Mentok dialect used in Pusuk was 9 vowels, 19 consonants, and 4 diphthongs. The distributions of vowel and consonant were incomplete. There was an allophone found in the study. Keywords: Phonology, Phonemes, Vowels, Consonants, Diphthongs. Abstrak : Sistem fonologi adalah sistem bahasa yang digunakan oleh suatu masyarakat untuk membedakan dirinya dari masyarakat lain. Bahasa Bangka adalah bagian dari gugus Melayu. Penelitian ini ditulis untuk menggambarkan sistem fonologis bahasa Bangka dalam dialek Mentok yang digunakan di Pusuk berdasarkan pada (1) vokal, (2) sistem konsonan, (3) diftong, (4) distribusi vokal, konsonan, dan diftong, dan (5) prinsip fonemik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah 248 kosakata dasar dari UnCen-SIL Wordlist yang berbasis di Swadesh. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik dasar "teknik percakapan", diikuti oleh "teknik mencatat dan merekam". Temuan sistem fonologis bahasa Bangka dalam dialek Mentok yang digunakan di Pusuk adalah 9 vokal, 19 konsonan, dan 4 diftong. Distribusi vocal dan konsonan tidak lengkap. Ada alofon yang ditemukan dalam penelitian. Kata kunci: Fonologi, Fonem, Vokal, Konsonan, Diftong

Abstract : This study aimed at describing the process and result of translation of English idiomatic expressions in Zootopia into Indonesian context. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through observation. The researcher watched Zootopia while identifying the idiomatic expressions appeared in the movie. The idioms then were translated into Bahasa Indonesia by using various translation methods. The result of the study revealed that four English idiomatic expressions have the similar form and meaning with Bahasa Indonesia idioms. Many of the English idioms have the equal meaning of idiomatic expressions but appear in different forms. Other idioms do not have the idioms with equal meaning, thus they were translated by using free translation method. Finally, there is one English word adopted in Bahasa Indonesia since this word refers to a job that does not exist in Indonesian context, meter maid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa empat ungkapan idiomat bahasa Inggris memiliki bentuk dan makna yang mirip dengan idiom Bahasa Indonesia. Banyak idiom bahasa Inggris yang memiliki padanan makna yang sama dengan idiom bahasa Indonesia tetapi muncul dalam bentuk lain. Idiom yang tidak memiliki padanan idiom di dalam bahasa Indonesia, sehingga diterjemahkan dengan menggunakan metode penerjemahan bebas. Terakhir, ada satu idiom bahasa Inggris yang diadopsi dalam Bahasa Indonesia karena idiom ini merujuk pada pekerjaan yang tidak ada dalam konteks Indonesia, yaitu meter maid. Abstract :This study is conducted to find out the pronunciation errors made by the first semester students of English Education Department in STKIP CBN. In conducting the data, the researcher gave the pre-test to the informants, then; the researcher recorded the performances and transcribed the data. The secondary data was gathered from the interview. Based on the data analysis The researcher counted that there are nine types of errors pronunciation made by the subjects. The first error is the subjects substituted a vowel /æ/ and six consonants /kj/,/tʃ/,/ʃ/,/dʒ/ and /ʒ/ with Indonesian sounds. The second error is the subjects substituted some English vowels into Indonesian vowel. The third error is word cognates cases. The fourth is language interference. The fifth is pronouncing the silent consonant /h/. The sixth error is Deleting or omitting some consonants that appeared at the end of some English words. The seventh error is the subjects pronounced the silent consonant /t/ in the word “often”. The eighth error is the subjects added the consonant /r/ at the word, that word doesn’t required the consonant /r/. The last error is some subjects seemed to generalize the pronunciation of the past tense morpheme which is ended by a bound morpheme /ed/. This research is founded that there are three causes of students’ pronunciation error made in speaking English. The first is an interference errors, the second is an intra lingual errors and the last is a developmental error.

Abstrak Kompetensi penerjemahan merupakan pengetahuan dan kemampuan yang dimiliki penerjemah untuk menghasilkan terjemahan dengan kualitas yang baik. Kompetensi penerjemahan salah satunya meliputi latar belakang pendidikan dan atau pelatihan penerjemahan yang pernah ditempuh penerjemah. Walaupun begitu, banyak penerjemah di Indonesia yang tidak memiliki latar belakang pendidikan dan atau pelatihan penerjemahan. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan antara kompetensi penerjemahan, khususnya latar belakang pendidikan dan atau pelatihan penerjemahan, dengan kualitas hasil terjemahan para penerjemah. Dari analisis studi pustaka yang telah dilakukan terhadap beberapa penelitian terdahulu mengenai korelasi antara kompetensi penerjemahan dengan kualitas terjemahan, peneliti menemukan bahwa kompetensi penerjemahan mempengaruhi kualitas terjemahan yang dihasilkan penerjemah.
